Wee raffle: two tickets for Tynecastle on Sunday

294

“We’re only here for the party”. Hearts fans taunted us with that on 24 May 2009, the final day of the Premier League season, the day Celtic failed to achieve four titles in a row. Most of those who travelled west that day will be in the stands at Tynecastle on Sunday. They will see a different kind of party.

Chances are, you, like me, don’t have a ticket for the game. There are no tickets to be had for Celtic fans, and unlike 1988, when a few of us paid our way into the Hearts end under similar circumstances, even that will not be possible this time around.

I might not have a ticket myself, but I do have TWO TICKETS for the Celtic end of Tynecastle on Sunday to raffle for Mary’s Meals, courtesy of Celtic sponsor, Intelligent Car Leasing.

You can enter here, for a minimum donation of £5. Please email me, celticquicknews@gmail.com with the word “Party” in the subject line to confirm your donation and entry. And include as many contact details as you think prudent to ensure you hear about your win (it wouldn’t be the first time someone didn’t catch their winning notification until after a game).

We win lots of leagues, but we don’t win them at Tynecastle too often. How sweet it would be to be there to celebrate and congratulate the team.

The good news is the competition is only open for two days, so there isn’t a lot of time to enter. If you donate after 22:00 on Wednesday – thank you – but your entry will not be considered.

13th Annual CQN Golf Open

This year’s CQN Golf Open will take place on Friday 28 July, again at our regular Aberdour haunt. It is always a magnificent Celtic occasion – and always oversubscribed. If you would like to attend, email Taggsybhoy, cqnopen@gmail.com

Beneficiaries of the night will be Walk with Shay and the Celtic FC Foundation, cost for the day’s golf, and evening meal and festivities, is £80, or £45 if you are an evening-only guest.

See you there……

Thanks enormously to Intelligent Car Leasing for their incredible support.  What a magnificent organisation to be supporting the club, and our charitable efforts.  Two tickets, competition only running two days, money going to Mary’s Meals, fill your boots!

TOMMOCELT, PHILBHOY it’s a beautiful house in great condition. Very well kept.

As far as I know some people find the owner a wee bit strange and that probably gets negative reviews. Always looks busy.

You must be ‘the new quid on the block’…

  3. They Huns just canny bring themselves to give the Celtic players who played for Scotland last night any credit whatsoever, can they ?

Some things just never change !

Since he joined Celtic the huns have always gave Scott Brown abuse, including slagging him off as a poor player etc, etc.

This is the same hun support who were desperate to have him sign for the huns when Scott was with Hibs.

I vividly remember watching Youtube footage of Hibs v Huns at easter Road, and the footage was taken by a hun in the hun end of course.

In this footage, the huns are clearly heard singing and goading the Hibs fans with….” We’re gonny take Scott Brown” !

Whenever I meet some huns I always remind them of that fact.

  6. TIM MALONE,

    here’s hoping my ” Quids In ” ?

if so, I will be the oldest Quid on the block.

    THE EXILED TIM,

Miller for Scotland ?….why not ?

While we’re at it, why not just play at least SIX SEVCO players for the next match v England, and lets sit back and watch the humiliation. WGS could stand down for that one match and let Super Sally and BDJ take over the reins ?

Lets see if BDJ makes a better job of it than he did as manger of Partick Thistle ?

It would probably be turned into yet another Orangefest.

Seen on BBC website the player ratings by…

    Billy Dodd…

Now, he reckoned that Stuart Armstrong had one of the Greatest Scotland International Debuts ever…

    Goes too…

    Andy Robertson…

    Quelle Surprise!

Thought it was Interesting how the Referee booked so many Slovenian’s for there Physical Approach to the game.

We’ll see how much protection (most of) these players get on their next Hampden run out.

I’ve looked at The Skill, Incredible Conditioning and Indefatigable Attitude of Scotland’s truly top Sportsmen…

Andy Murray, Stuart Hogg… and look at Stuart Armstrong and think we may have, at long last, a Scottish Footballer that is a first class Sportsman.

    Hail Hail

  9. Chairbhoy

I agree re Stuart Armstrong, he is special, maybes it needed someone like |Brendan to coax it out of him, it may well have happened given time, who knows, I just thot that KT being a wean, playing in an international game out of position nothing fazed him and should get the MoM, or bhoy of the match.

Your point about protection, not gonna happen mi amigo, we all know the script, the ref will be hand picked, the media will all be on message, the club, our club are on message with them and if anything untoward happens, well it’s just one of those things that will even themselvs out over the season, aye right, I am not looking forward to the game for a host of reasons.

  12. THE EXILED TIM @ 8:10 PM,

Very good point on KT, he has all those assets I mentioned and at such a young age has the potential and temperament to be truly World Class. The others I mentioned are/were approaching their mid-twentiez before they showed that level of composure.

It struck me at the last Sevco game, that Stuart Armstrong was kicked off the park. I can’t remember the last time I saw that in the modern game. A disgrace but you’re right, we’re going to have to brace ourselves for more of the same.

Hope the Thumb’s on the mend… that sounded Pain-Full.

When you get down to the brass tacks, how sad is it that we know we are getting cheated and there is not a fecking thing that we can do about it, money is our only weapon and the withdrawal of it it all we have, but it aint gonna happen, the complacency has set in, the huns are in disaray and we arny.

Still, thinking about it a level playing field would have us winning everything and that’s not good for business, we canny win :-)

Definitely go to O’Sheas mate which is a short walk from either Piccadilly or Oxford Rd. Station. I’ve watched many a game in there and there’s usually a good crowd in who are partial to a sing song so I would expect it to be busy on Sunday.

  19. Word from the deep dark recesses of Auchenhowie, that a letter is being dispatched to SFA re Celtic players gaining an unfair advantage for the semi final by playing against Slovenia.

Gordon Strachan is being named as having a bias due to historical employment at CP.

The letter calls for a friendly game with Sevco Stars featuring prominently against a Norn Ireland select, and all proceeds being given to the Gubbin Club.

Hello again all you young rebels.

Delighted our club now have a feeder club over here in Oz

Neerang Eagles, don’t no much about them but there are so

many communities over here with fantastic facilities with

everybody pulling together to get the kids enjoying soccer.

As some of you know our own Pakenham councel have built

a whole new football complex in our area for the massive rise

in interest in the beautiful game and we had literally hundreds

of kids and parents all there on Sunday to see games at different

age levels, i personally reffed a couple of games at under 6 level

and no i’m not a mib but i did wear my black united irishmen

CSC top kindly given to me by a great CQN’r.

and it was a joy for everyone, so well done to Celtic for

recognising the potential moneyball that Oz will be in the near

future although the AFL will be looking worryingly over their

shoulder at losing their foothold on TV and potential income

    reduction to soccer.

Hope everyone up there in Queensland are safe and well as a

huge Cyclone is presently battering the area,( MOOLOOLABA

BHOY ? ) apparently it’s just sitting off the coast and ready to

strike in places like Mackay, Ayr, Hamilton island, strangely all

Scottish names, so thoughts with you all.
