‘WHY CALLUM IS SO VALUABLE,’ RODGERS

0

CALLUM McGREGOR earned special praise from delighted boss Brendan Rodgers after the 3-0 triumph over Alashkert in Armenia last night.

Celtic overcame stamina-sapping temperatures of around 30c, to make certain they would move through to the Champions League qualifying second round.

It’s incomprehensible to think their opponents will score four goals in Glasgow a week tonight!

McGregor fired home the third goal in the fading moments following strikes from Odsonne Edouard and James Forrest.

Rodgers smiled: “Callum plays with a lot of authority and personality.

“He’s a real attacking midfield player. We’ve got different types – Scott Brown’s a defensive one, Olivier Ntcham’s a passing midfield player and Callum, who is an attacking player.

“He can go forward, break lines and score goals. He does it very regularly now and in big games.

“Callum is a very valuable player to our squad.”
