I didn’t realise until this morning that the assault on Lukasz Zaluska’s assault by two premiership footballers was so serious as to have the player lying unconscious on the ground for several minutes. The Celtic player was out in Glasgow with his wife Sunday night before the incident.
Lukasz was singled-out for online abuse by two Dundee United players in August, one from Poland, one Scottish-born player who has represented Northern Ireland, after the Legia Warsaw Champions League qualifier. The Polish player subsequently took to Twitter to campaign for Legia’s punishment for fielding a suspended player against Celtic to be reduced.
The stories I could tell about various footballers would fill more than a few volumes, but all of the tales I’ve heard about Lukasz are that he is a polite, generous, player who repeatedly puts himself out to help Celtic fans and Poles living here. Very best wishes to the big guy, I hope we see him back soon.

I agree it is strange but I cannot see excuses in blaming the manager for not picking him enough. He was trusted in both domestic matches and in CL ties and, despite running about a lot, he never seemed happy in his work, even on the rare occasions where he scored. Seems a decent player but you need to be a lot better player than that before a club such as ours can forgive such moodiness.

I think Astra will sit in and hit us on the Brake when we start to Tyre keeping that pace up for a full 90mins will leave the player Exhaust-ed

I know John Rankin personally and he is a very decent family man. Got my son a signed Celtic shirt from all the Celtic players last season.
If he is conflicted in anyway I am sure he will not involve himself in representing any players. I can also ensure you he would not condone any acts of such thuggery whoever the players may be.

Without confirmation from Police Scotland of names of those alledged to have assualted LZ there are Prejudice and Sub Justice laws that on advice of media solicitors (i imagine) the media are not able to provide those details. Saw Gordon Cree of STV mention this on twitter yesterday. Once charged then names will be released and once in court we will find out who the x Celtic journo in attendance was as he\she will be a witness.

Mrs TET worked in a casualty dept for 14 years, in the dept they had a sliding scale of seriousness when it came to people being knocked unconcious.

I know we have not seen too much of Scepovic,but in the games we have,I would say the boy has been very unlucky.His goal tally could be 5-6.A mixture of unlucky,and not being played in by other players when he had great movement and position to score.
His effort against Salzburg was world class.Not many would have spotted it never mind try to score from there.
We will see.

Can only be named after going through the court, I would imagine that due to the nature of the attack he/they will be held custody for court and be at Glasgow Sheriff Court appearing from custody this afternoon, just my opinion like. So, names should be in the public domain shortly.. Unless he/they were let oot yesterday, then they’ll no be at court today.. but may be at s later date….

I hope you are right. I guess I just feel Griffith’s hasn;t been given a chance and for the cash spent on Scepovic we may have a player who can score just as many goals and from the same sort of areas.
