Booking £20m from TV rights in China over 10 years is a remarkable deal for the SPFL, it shows a lot of faith from broadcaster, PPLive, who have the responsibility to foster the league in the world’s most populous country. The cash will be beer money to Celtic but represents a substantial income for most of the Premiership.
The deal opens the door for Celtic to follow-through, the only club with the wherewithal to exploit the merchandising, scouting and recruitment opportunities there. We’ve seen strategies developed in Mexico, India and now China, while the European football-tourist market is also now being targeted through online partners.
None of this will put the ball in the Ajax net tomorrow night but it is important nonetheless.

Really don’t know what to expect from tonight’s game. I’m sure they well attack ass much as they can and our defence will need to be firm. Hopefully we can show something on the counter too. It’s not going to be at all easy but I hope we can get something out of it.
A key role for Commons and Samaras tonight, I think. Both coming back from injury and along with James Forrest we need them to run with the ball and get us out when we get possession.

Im exactly the same re tonight. We know we can beat them, but we also know they can give us a doing and will be very difficult to break down.
Big Fraser will need to be at his best, but more importantly as you say Sami and Kris need to be at top of their game, as keeping possession and keeping it well, when we have the ball will be crucial.
Im happy that Ajax more or less Have to come out and attack us. The above 2 along with James Forrest’s pace will be very, very important for us on the counter-attack.
Im sure we can win, but as with the game 2 weeks ago, I am very nervous!

It’s a game we must win. If Celtic want to progress in the tournament it’s a must win game and Neil Lennon knows it. he has spoken well about the match and wants to go on the attack. I like the sound of that.
Hopefully our big players play well. If they do I can see us coming home with 3 points.

Apparently, Scottish football is absolute rubbish and Celtic are just a rubbish team within this rubbish set up. Obviously, therefore, we have no chance against ANY of the teams in our group. Indeed, we are so rubbish, we weren`t going to come through the qualifiers to the group stages. The great Barcelona would murder us and Milan would sweep us aside. Ajax, with their incredible Dutch flair, would play us off the park. It is just horrible being a Celtic supporter. Life must be so much better for Stoke and Hull fans.

Good morning from bus taking us the short distance from the Ferry port to Amsterdam. Hearing there was some trouble last night with the Ajax scum.
There was around 1000 Celtic fans on the overnight crossing, all in a party atmosphere and 99% well behaved as usual.

A couple of interesting hypotheticals if I may.
1 – Ajax have only scored twice in this year’s Champion’s League. A 90th minute goal against Milan and a 94th minute goal against us. Let’s keep the injury time to a minimum tonight!
2 – We have conceded 4 goals so far, all late in the game – Milan (82 and 86), Barcelona (76) and Ajax (94). Had all of the games so far only lasted 75 minutes the table would read:-
Barcelona (5 points)
Celtic (5 points)
Milan (3 points)
Ajax (1 point)

Very interesting stats there. I think our ball retention needs to be better in the last minutes of games. be interesting to see when our subs have been made. I reckon we have been weakened slightly by injuries and changes when we have been comfortable. Also keeping 11 men on the pitch would help!
