Solid performance and the outcome was never in doubt after Langfield was sent off.
I always think it ruins the game a wee bit when the keeper walks, but it has been the rule for long enough – and given the schedule Celtic are facing next week it was helpful as we didn’t have to over exert ourselves.
Good to see a full house at Pittodrie –m this Armageddon business is dreadful…
Yes I totally agree bin that 10 in a row song, no class in that song at all, and yes it does sound Hunnish.

HAHAHAHA nooooo I leave the moaning to you, I’m as happy as can be, just think its a daft song, if they sing it good for them just sounds a Hunnish type song, but if it floats yer boat I’m moaning ok go for it, I hope you are happy we won?
CELTIC preserved their perfect start in the Scottish Premiership with a dominant 2-0 victory over 10-man Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
Kris Commons’ penalty kick at the end of a cagey first-half put them in charge after Jamie Langfield had been given his marching orders for catching Georgios Samaras as he hared in on goal.
The Hoops spurned several chances after the break before substitute James Forrest added a second with four minutes remaining to ensure that they banked maximum reward.
Neil Lennon had named a strong side to face the in-form Dons despite the close proximity of the crucial UEFA Champions League play-off first-leg tie in Kazakhstan.
Summer signing Steven Mouyokolo made his competitive start for the Hoops in central defence and turned in an assured performance which would have also delighted the manager.
The opening exchanges were fiercely fought as both sides battled for supremacy in typically blustery conditions in the north east.
Space was at a premium and it took until the eighth minute for either side to force a shot on goal, with former Celt, Niall McGinn, firing a free-kick over for the hosts after Johnny Hayes had drawn a foul from Samaras.
While Celtic quickly established a dominance of possession, they were finding it difficult to unlock the home defence, but gradually they began to fashion some chances.
In the 20th minute, after a neat interchange of passing, Adam Matthews cut inside on to his left-foot but his was effort was blocked.
Commons then came close to reaching Beram Kayal’s chip before Ledley fired wide after an angled run into the area.
With the middle of the park so congested, the Hoops’ most likely route to profit was through the overlapping runs of Matthews and Emilio Izaguirre and an inviting cross from the latter was volleyed wide by Commons.
It was through the direct route that Celtic managed to make the breakthrough on the stroke of half-time. Ledley launched a long ball down the middle and Samaras won the race with Russell Anderson for the ball.
The Greek striker attempted to round Jamie Langfield but was hauled down by the goalkeeper. Referee Calum Murray showed the shot-stopper the red card and awarded the Hoops a penalty. Commons made no mistake from 12 yards.
Samaras was close to doubling the lead five minutes after the interval when Commons’ corner caused a melee in the box.
But with the prolific McGinn still on the pitch, the Dons couldn’t be discounted, and the Irishman nearly levelled the match after connecting with Mark Reynolds’ deep cross. Thankfully for Celtic, Fraser Forster was well-placed.
Mulgrew came close to punishing his former employers when his curling effort from distance flew narrowly wide as the visitors looked to press home their advantage.
Commons’ clever turn left Anderson for dead, and his pass from the byline was dummied by Samaras for Scott Brown who shot wide.
Substitute keeper Nicky Weaver then denied Ledley and Brown was within inches of getting a foot to Izaguirre’s searching delivery as the chances continued to mount up for the champions.
With 13 minutes remaining, Virgil Van Dijk entered the fray from the bench to make his competitive bow for the Hoops. Fellow substitute Mikael Lustig nearly added a second but his flick from Mulgrew’s free-kick was saved by Weaver.
And as the clock ticked down, James Forrest finally sealed the spoils, racing on to a long ball and looping a shot over Weaver via the aid of a deflection.

To be fair to McAllister I couldn’t believe it either, but all credit to Forrest for forcing the issue. Good to see a full house at Pittodrie, if the Aberdeen fans get behind their team they could do well this season. As for us well it is always good to see new or injured or out of sorts players get game time. And players like Izzy and Kayal in good shape at the start of the season. Good performances all round. A wee bit more firepower and we could push on again this season.

Answer to question ‘ Where is wee John Fleck the day?’
He is at Brunton for 6 pointer relegation clash of the titans.
Enjoyed the game today, great crowd and that made it a great atmosphere, even enjoyed the pundits at the end of the match.
Things are so much better without the match fixing money launderers.
Whistle while ye work CSC
Not the biggest fan of Kayal, but I thought he did ok today. It helps when at least 3 of the midfield play close together.
Otherwise, a good days training.
Moyokolo looks like a decent CB.
Disappointed to see flares, yet again.
