One of the problems of doing your business discretely is that if and when agents or selling clubs publicise your interest in their player, media attention has a tendency to attribute too much focus on the most recent name revealed. Teemu Pukki is a player Celtic have been trailing for some months but the fact that his agent yesterday revealed their interest is no indication that he enjoys any pre-eminence over others strikers being considered. If anything, briefings from the agent are an indication of the opposite.
Reports yesterday that Pukki is backup in case a bid for Finnbogason fails are also wide of the mark; this is not the active path Celtic are working on. There are (at least) two other strikers under consideration, neither of whom have directly or indirectly leaked the discussions.
Nothing sells media adverts like transfer ‘news’, which is fair enough, but news is easier to find than the actual story. This is a ‘no news’ article, the easiest of all. No panicking in the back…

Weeron
All very interesting …..stuff ive heard many times before
However your quip about supporters was much more interesting ….
I notice you failed to address that issue in your post to me …your post …in fact ….had nothing to do with any comment I made to you
For the record I am a very ardent CFC fan and supporter …I use blogs to release my frustration …
Don’t call my support into question unless you’re able to support your comment
Ill see you at the next CFC game …maybe not ?
Is it just me, or does anyone else think Amido should start agin’ the Karagandy?……
…….hence the “doubts” that he may not start today?
PJ,
Ideas developped from the thoughts of other CQNers…..well, more the moonhowlers :))
But ffs, surely the way forward !!
TBJ
It’ll keep you awake :-))
I thought it was bad practice to use the media during transfer negotiations
Good morning CQN
God Bless wee Oscar and his family
Thoughts and prayers
Come on Celtic a good win today and the 3 points
Safe journey to all travelling to and from the game
Keep the Faith
Hail Hail

I think we’ll start as we did against Elfsborg away
With the exception of Wilson…
FFS, I think some of the ole Thatcher’s Children need to realise, well firstly, who they are, and secondly, what CFC meant to us in the 80s (and 70s 60s for the RIGHT auld yins amongst us).
This sums it up. My Grandad taking me to see us play St Mirren, not just to give him a break from 7 days a week union work, but also to give both our ears a break from what his two daughters were listening to on the radio non stop :))))
which I now love of course, even though it’s mince…..or is it ? :))

TBJ
Yee ken him …some said he was pants anyway :-))
TBJ : )
Good to see its close to a full house for the clash between Scotlands two most successful clubs.
Keep a few players on the sidelines to be fresh for Karagandy and hopefully no knocks in this game.
Hope Amido starts, would be good for his confidence.
EN
How you been
I’ve missed your moaning about coupon emails and your sevco chat :-))

Great post. Way to much sense there. You forgot that if there is no bogey man or ‘chairman or director’ or bad ‘authoritative figures’ or ‘player or manager’ to abuse then it is no fun.
The mantle of being a very well run club steering itself through difficult economic and macro dynamic times is not one which sits well with many Celtic supporters.
The leadership of our club are guilty of one thing. Lacking strategic vision and energy in 2004 to lead for change in our playing environment.
Lawwell was new to post at the the time and since then has played a tough micro market very well as many around us and of similar scale globally (outside EPL) have imploded or fallen prey to oligarchs and such like.
Celtic will prevail despite the whiners and moaners and arm chair CEO’s.
The Boy Jinky
I think they have a good chance today, if I couldnt bet it Id say the 3/1 Aberdeen was good odds.
Rolls n sausages? Im aff them.

Bbc news article. . Cheese on toast

Fine …a lot better if we’d replace those we have sold …particularly by getting a striker in
NL&M
Naw mate… I met sammi a few minutes later as he boarded the bus to Aberdeen. .. he was still chomping on a steak bake ;)

Through choice !!!!
Morning ..nice we debate going on earlier all good fun
i see we have an extensive list of doubfulls for the game today,if they cant make today and have a chance for kazakstan then rest them up.great news that sammy and chris a good to go,if balde can make it then i think it will be a problem for aberdeen as they wont know how to cope with his strength and pace, thot he was great against liverpool.fantastic that its a near sell out..6years is a long time for a club of aberdeens size..cant wait h.h
Doubtfuls dohhh
PFayr
Aye that would be nice, I was hoping the buy to sell thing and CL moneies would mean we step up the quality each year and develop, I suspect that might not be the case come 1st Sept, we shall see….
Id just be happy with some decent attacking entertaining football.

agree with you on Amido – let him play today for a chance to start agin’ Karagandy

Willo Flood: A dearth of opportunities in the first team causing the Dublin-born midfielder to feel distant from a club he had agreed to join on a two and a half year contract. “I was never a Celtic player,” he said yesterday.
Emm strange you should mention that Willo I had the exact same feeling when I saw you in a Celtic shirt.
Neil lennon &mccartney
yeh i would if he is fit..i was impressed by his strength and directness, the latter point being one element some of our forward players have lacked in recent times and his confidence is up too..all good to go!hh
if all the “doubtfuls” are not available, I wondered what team we can put out….
……and came up wi this……
Forster
Matthews…..Mouyokolo…….Mulgrew……..Izzy
Rogic…………….Ledley………Commons
Stokes…………..Watt………Samaras
Rogic …injured
