AMERICAN CRAVES CELTIC MOVE

AMERICAN midfielder Darlington Nagbe has admitted he would be happy for Celtic to come back in for him.

The playmaker looked close to a £3million switch to Parkhead and was invited over to Glasgow to watch the Champions League clash with Barcelona at the end of last year.

The 26-year-old star posted on social media a video in which he revealed he was blown away by the atmosphere.

But the deal collapsed after Celtic and his club, Portland Timbers, could not agree on the terms of the transfer.

Brendan Rodgers has since spent £2.8 million on Kouassi Eboue and the move appeared to be dead.

However, Nagbe has refused to completely close the door on a move to Glasgow.

He said: “It was amazing that Celtic showed interest in me.

“They wanted me to come over for their game against Barcelona in the Champions League. I checked it out and enjoyed it – it was one of the best atmosphere I have ever experienced. It was great.

“I’m not too sure that something will happen there now.

“I’m here at Timbers right now and if it doesn’t happen then I am looking forward to playing again for Portland.

“If it does happen with Celtic, then great. It is what it is.”
