Anywhere but Warsaw

868

My thought on looking at our potential opponents this morning was ‘Anywhere but Warsaw’.  Our man Zbyszek tells me Legia were awful in the first leg in Warsaw against St Pat’s, where they drew 1-1 courtesy of a late goal, but we’ve been there.  Henrik Larsson & Co. drew 0-0 against St Pat’s at Celtic Park before winning 0-2 in the return leg.  St Patrick’s have a big job ahead if they are to progress.

A trip to Ireland on Champions League qualification duty for the second year running would suit Celtic, especially our Irish-based supporters, but my money is on a more testing trip to Poland; Ronny’s pulse should have quickened on the news.

Zbyszek doesn’t reckon have what it takes to eliminate Celtic. All being equal, that may be the case, but summer football will be unpredictable for both clubs.

I am, of course, being completely disrespectful to KR Reykjavik, who we annihilate next week.

Mate.I seriously feel that I very seldom raise a political matter.

I feel that I respond to controversial statements.

I don`t like to hear phrases like ” the butcher`s apron “,but that appears regularly here.

Is that racist? Why is there no outcry?

How about “the most bigoted wee country”

    How about “Scottish scum?

    The double standard is extraordinary,imho.

    Why shouldn`t I respond?

    macjay @ 02:37,

I understand why some people think integration is the key to human success in education. Surerly, one of the key things, which I was taught from day one, is the ability to appreciate that I/we/you/ they are not always right. Religious education is as beautiful as culture – it should be warmly embraced, not used an excuse for the lower classes to fight each other while the rich grow richer at the expense of childrens’ lives.

Who is Celtic Football Club for?

Celtic Football Club is for people who want to support a football club that strives for excellence in Scotland and in Europe, is proud of its history, supportive of its local community and seeks to support the following aims:

“To maximise all opportunities to disassociate the Club from sectarianism and bigotry of any kind. To promote Celtic as a Club for all people, regardless of gender, age, religion, race or ability.”

On the same link, you’ll find the official history- very relevant to the objectives of the Club today in the opinion of many of its supporters:

Celtic Football Club was founded in 1888. Its principal founder was a Marist Brother named Walfrid. The Club had two principal aims: The first aim was to raise funds to provide food for the poor of the East End of Glasgow, an area of the City that was greatly impoverished and had a high rate of infant mortality. Within the East End was a large Irish community and friction was growing between the native Glaswegians and the new influx of Irish. Brother Walfrid saw the need for social integration and his vision was a football club that Scottish and Irish, Protestants and Catholics alike could support. A new football club would be a vehicle to bring the communities together and this was the second aim. The Marist brother sought for the Club to have both a Scottish and Irish identity and hence, the Club’s name “Celtic” came about, representing a bridge of cultures across the Irish Sea.

  7. Neil Lennon & McCartney,

And while families go hungry, we fight over politics. Nothing ever changes, eh :(

At least they had the balls to have a revolution back then – although to be fair, if we do that now, it might well lead to the establishment creating another hun monster to keep us all divided.

I’m going to cry myself to sleep now in depression at this week as I think a lot us are, while GCHQ assess how dangerous I am to the establishment.

Great Britain? Scotland? Two cheeks of the same arse.

Next thing you know, in 10 years, you’ll not only be telling your grandkids that the huns died, ceased to exist; but as they stare at you in disbelief and the arguments rage around the Lawyell Stand, someone will say, “Naw, it’s true. And the hospitals used to be free as well”. Cue laughter around the stadium and a red face.

    Welcome to the 21st Century.

Brilliant music from you dudes tonight. It is such a shame I spilt my drink over my keyboard, a new keyboard required, I may have liked a drink for many years but one thing I never ever done. I’m annoyed at myself, already the keys are going.

There is a lot going on in this World right now, there is also a lot going on in the Spiritual realm. The COE with their stance about taking Satan out of the equation, is just mair new age (and it is really old, older than olde) Spiritualism engulfing us all.

  14. BMCUW,

When it comes to choosing between the words of John and Macjay (apols Macjay), there is only one winner.

John won’t see it as winning though – he’ll be re-arranging Macjay’s kitchen utensils and putting the bad eggs in the fridge to the front, just to ruffle up the thoughts a wee bit. That’s the kind of guy he was. Cool as a non-refridgerated cucumber. JL rules. Paul McCartney is nearly 80 years old, yet still dyes his hair dark brown and thinks we all fall for it.

If you did any of that at the Star Folk Club in Glasgow, you and your family are more than likely still under surveillance (40 years later). You comfortable with that? …

GCT is possibly one of them, and it only took 30 years down under with you before he was sure you weren’t a threat to the establishment – that, and his love of trams, are why we are now blessed with his presence. Well, Edinburgh is. :))

    Strange decision from Lenny.

  24. macjay1,

Trust me macjay1, things are going to get worse on an exponential scale, the propaganda scale will also rise.

These are the End Times, the very End, IMO. If you are Christian and you believe in the fact that Jesus Died to save Mankind, with all the Prophecy coming alive in one Generation, then Christians should be delighted as the Time draws near. So many ardent students were never given so many indicators to VALIDATE their belief. The Truth is out there for those that Want it, it is strange so many young people now think it is nonsense.
