Appellate body CEO taking sides

826

So the chief executive of the appellate body awaiting a decision to appeal says, “It’s crucial with league reconstruction being such an important issue for the game that we now draw a line under what’s happened”.

According to the SPL Commission the president of that same appellate body was one of the “directors of Oldco [which]must bear a heavy responsibility” for what happened.

Responsibility, however, is an unnecessary concept for the chief executive of the appellate body, who told the media “It’s not about trying to find scapegoats to take responsibility for what’s happened in the last 12 months.”

Note use of language, those responsible are now “scapegoats”.

Scapegoat, def: A person or group made to bear the blame for others or to suffer in their place.

Let’s not look for scapegoats.  Instead let’s stick to who Lord Nimmo Smith’s Commision blame, “the directors of Oldco”.  Including the appellate body’s president.

The appellate body is unfit as an appellate body and as a football association.  SPL clubs must look for a new playing environment.  Let the SFA and SFL run the grassroots game. They appear to want this anyway and I am sure SPL clubs will flourish when no longer restricted to opposition from Scotland.

Bobbys diaries remain sobering, it feels like yesterday we gathered on the New Lodge Road in readiness to move off, little did we know then what the coming months would bring, the diaries no matters ones politics provide an insight into the feelings, the belief, the courage and dare I say the humanity of the man himself, To this day I am privileged to see one of Bobbys comrades from the cages, albeit not as regular as I would wish, his loss remains as acute today as it was then, that is the case I’m sure for many many others, thanks for taking the time to share.

“The actions of Rangers Football Club for almost the entire 21st century to date represent the most sustained campaign of deliberate, systematic cheating in the history of Scottish football.

Rangers improperly registered dozens of players, wholly on purpose, with the goal of avoiding tax and thereby fielding a team comprising footballers of a quality it could otherwise not have afforded to sign”

Are any CQNers interested in creating a combined article (on past/present problems that Celtic endure) that we could present to P67 to potentially add to his magazine?

  8. For those of ye hurting, just imagine if Hector hadn’t pulled the plug on the CVA. They would then be the original Club, they would still have their full panel, they would be debt free and have their 54 Titles. With the points we dropped this year, they could well be leading the SPL right now and would of course be eligible to play in Europe. Now that is what I would call a disaster of an outcome and it could well have happened.

Things are never bad but they could be worse, the only time I’ll worry about The Zombies Mark 2 is when they pose a competitive danger to Celtic. I’m 65, I reckon I might never have to worry about Zombies Mark2 again.

It’s not up to the team to fight establishment corruption.

    It’s up to the board.

Bob Kelly knew how to do that, and so did Fergus McCann.

    The present lot?

    I await the evidence.

  10. I recall that when the votes on league reconstruction were last discussed it was mentioned that a full rule book was being drawn up.

Does anyone know if this has yet happened? I am understandably suspicions and wonder whether the “unfairness” of whichever club should win the 3rd division “not being promoted” might be addressed somewhere in the small print.

All in the interests of fairness, integrity and dignity of course.

    Excellent analysis.

Integrity, logic and language have been redefined to suit a particular goal.

It seems to me that LNS has produced a verdict that is quintessentially Scottish.

    Guilty, but not guilty.

Proven, but not proven (guilty but do not do it again)…….

Which facilitates the MSM and hordes to proclaim innocent & vindicated.

Yes, it’s a sobering time for Celtic fans we’ve got the walking aways, the I will walk aways the always will stays, – and the don’t knows.

Nothing changes, just in degrees, and we were heading to a smaller ‘huddled in the jungle’ type Celtic support before they liquidated, and long before LNS.

The Celtic board were immediate in sensing the injustice felt by Celtic fans with their statement which I hope was only a marker, for the continuation of the fight for justice in Scotland. But sadly I’m reminxed of John Reid who said we weren’t going anywhere.

If we ever had men of reverie and prescience, there would have been a plan to leave Scotland behind.

it really is the only answer.

  17. Draw a line under it all. Under all the empty words and broken promises. Empty words such as those spoken by men who would lead us all into a new independent world where blatantly sectarian chanting at a football match that can be heard on national television is described as family atmosphere.

And beneath broken promises where undertakings are given by the unco guid that proven cheats will be appropriately punished without fear or favour, and where favours are subsequently and unquestionably granted by levying a fine that amounts to less than the proven cheats would have paid out in a weeks wages for a DECADE of DECEPTION.

So now what, we are supposed to forgive and forget? Draw a line under these things and turn the other cheek again? I will never forget the arrogant and unapologetic cheating and bullying, and I will never forgive the collusion that is clearly prevalent from top to bottom of the bodies that are supposed to govern football, and even those that would have us follow them politically.

And a man who oversaw financial doping that was evidently routine at the club he was a full board director of for 11 years, and that chose to overlook it when he reached the post of Treasurer and eventually President of the SFA where part of his job was presumably to make sure that member clubs didn’t do exactly what the club he left had been doing WHILE HE WAS THERE and was still doing after he left, if his reported wedge of their EBT scheme is anything to go by. Not to mention of course his part in the maintenance of a sectarian signing policy during his tenure at that club.

And the titles that we were cheated out of by them, although I may be mistaken there since it seems that they didn’t actually gain any advantage (sic.) out of their lies and subterfuge. I can’t really believe that this is it. Done and dusted, guilt apportioned, punishment (in the order of a couple of grand a month for all the years they cheated) handed down, so now let’s move on?

No. If there’s to be any form of justice this can not be over yet.

    SFTB,

Up for a fight? You have already given in!

Sevco will win their first title. Fact.

Rangers FC(iL) have won 54 titles, but can win no more, because they no longer exist.

If you, or anyone else, accepts any nonsense about the same club, same history etc, it is you who has conceded.

The facts are, we, Celtic, are in a massive position of strength. Sevco are a very poor, financially crippled, 4th division mob, with a very limited business plan.

Now, I understand your fears that Sir no surname etc will ride in on their white charger and set all things to right in the great Hun fiefdom, but what evidence have you to assert so?

It is only the 4th day after the ridiculous LNS “punishment” for a guilty verdict.

Do you not believe that yet more cards have still to be played? By sides not so pro Hun.

On face value some battles may have been lost.

However, the enemy have been forced to show their hand publicly and in legalese.

I Have faith, for I believe, we are nearing a time where, we the Celtic family, will see an end to us being treated as second class citizens.

And I believe our board are capable of steering us through the next few months without the histrionics on some who post on here without the need to be responsible for their words.
