Armageddon-SPL strong at the bottom

788

Dundee are nine points adrift at the bottom of the SPL but made a good fist of it against Celtic last night, after a rocky start.  They held their own for a good 30 minutes either side of the interval.  They are clearly the worst team in the league but they are a pretty decent worst team.  Armageddon-SPL is strong at the bottom end.

You and I know the Celtic support, as a group and to any statistically significant level, are vastly better behaved than any supporters of any other large football club.  This is a source of enormous pride but comes at a cost.  Over 20 years later you will still hear about fruit thrown by one idiot, I do.  This is a good thing.  It means that there has been little to talk about these past 20 years.

When you benefit from the greatest reputation in football you are held to the highest standards.  No one will blame Chelsea fans when we drop the ball.  I’ve heard no reports of damage or injury at Dens last night, but 20 years from now someone will tell you what was said by a representative of Dundee today.  This will be a good thing.

You have spend the best part of a day on here berating Celtic fans and now appear to be trying to exonerate the lovely Dundonians.

You went to a game on Boxing Day, Sodom and gomorrah style apparently, according to you, with the grand total of 4 (four) arrests.

How much do you despise some of your fellow fans?

I too spoiled my Christmas doo on the 14th Dec. Ran for a Train at High Street, having seen it on the Platform. The last thing I remember was slipping on the Stairs , the next lying on a Stretcher heading for the GRI. Two weeks later my black eyes are almost gone…:)

By a No. 10 I assume you mean a Play-maker. Yes, we are in the market for a No. 10 and a forward. No names other than Castillo. We were interested in Chris Wood but he seems Leicester bound.

    Keep the Faith!

    Hail Hail!

  5. Just to add, not a peep in Chilean media online about Nicolás Castillo joining Celtic. But it’s very early in the morning there still.

I am not having a go at you, I am we’ll aware of the definition of a racial incident and if you percieved the chanting you heard to be racial then it’s racial no question about it.

I am highlighting the fact that MWD also heard the same chanting during the game and even although he was on a public forum at the time he neglected to make any reference to it and only felt it necessary to raise same when there were aspersions being cast on some sections of the Celtic support

    Rangers go under

    14 June

Rangers’ perilous financial position had been an open secret but there was still shock when, after 140 years of history and a world record 54 league titles, the club was consigned to liquidation in mid-June. The Glasgow giants were subsequently reformed as a new company and granted entry to the Third Division, Scotland’s fourth tier, which they currently lead by nine points with a game in hand.

Lets learn the lesson of Dens park, 4 Celtic supporters got arrested….. Lesson is….. Nothing that’s lower than ave for this time of year

Racist chanting …. Lesson learned is to mount a twitter and FB campaign highlighting what Craven and his cronies never heard.

Because I was watching the game and commenting on that.

You will also note, if you care to read back, that I also did not comment on flares, fireworks, singing etc… I also never posted again until Vman txt me to ask that I or CRC put up an update on Wee Oscar for Jude2005 at which point I read back and scrolled through previous comments to get a gist on topics of conversation. Rater than just jump in blind.

And yes I did notice tha Effe Ambrose was subject to racial abuse. It was not aparrent from TV that Wanyama was to. I did hear firecrackers but I did not see flares on TV. I did hear political republican songs being sung. But as I was enjoying watching he game I watchd and commented on what I perceived to be a crappy referee performance and a crappy commentary performance (2 posts I believe).

Now me Lord. Please put your Batton back in its holster.

Are you denying there was racial abuse of Celtic players?

  12. The Debate on last nights events is proving to be very divisive. There are things that surely we can all agree with, and then we can narrow down the areas of disagreement and discuss them in a reasonable manner. We are all Celtic supporters and we all want what is best for the Club & the Team. I think most people are against bringing Flares into grounds so that can be dropped as an issue, I also think that most people accept that you cannot indulge in sectarian chanting and obviously you cannot indulge in drunken brawling etc. If a small section of the support did break any of those codes last night it cannot be condoned. I wasn’t there so I don’t know, some lads who were there are giving totally different versions of what went on. I got involved in the debate as I understood one or two posters last night were referring to sectarian singing and the only 2 songs I could make out were The Roll of Honour and Aiden McAnespie, these songs are simply not sectarian, end of rant.

  13. Greetings all.

What a shame that so many people still cannot condone a minority for their behaviour in Dundee. Blaming others is laughable. Praise be to the majority who supported the team the other night. Thankfully we have a hierarchy who are honest about the problem. They do not just tell us it is all a horrible conspiracy against the Celts.

I wonder how the idiots feel this morning? Are they ashamed for giving the media ammunition against us? Do they care?

How can Celtic ban fans from away matches ?

And if they can what does that mean ? That its ok to sing these songs at Celtic Park ?

I will be paying 90 Euros for a safe seat at the Juve Celtic game [ assuming I can’t get a Celtic section ticket]

Yes I’ve seen the Cavani to Chelsea / Manchester City stuff .

Lots of hype this morning about Ronaldo and ” The Special One ” going to PSG .Some claim that Pastore is going the other way..

Juve sites claiming the signing of an 18 year old centre half from Botafoga[ can’t remember his name ]. — less than 20 first team appearances ==10 milion euros !

  16. Corkcelt: “We are all Celtic supporters and we all want what is best for the Club & the Team. ”

Evidently that is not the case. Some people seem not to care much for the club. Certainly their behaviour shows that. Too many people here are insinuating that we are victims.

    Strongly disagree

If the steward and polis are letting in drunk fans into the ground with flares having being searched. Then they are to blame for not doing their job properly.

Did the booing of our black players stop after 30 mins or did it contine throughout the game ?

When you see the pics of the wee scrawny laddies that the polis were supposedly feart from refusing entry to the ground then you come to the conclusion it was orchestrated.

    1) What behaviour did you see in Dundee that concerned you?

Juve tickets ridiculous prices for non ST holders IMO

Standard season ticket holders will then have the opportunity to purchase two additional tickets for this match from 9.30am on Thursday, January 17. Tickets will be available at the general sale prices – from £49 adults and from £30 concessions – and will be available online, on 0871 226 1888* (Option 1, Option 1) or by visiting the Ticket Office at Celtic Park

    That is my point.

celtic mac like you and I watched on TV (although he listens more than he watches) and he heard sectarian references. Other than the 2 songs you mention the only other possibility I can think of is that he gods the use of the word Hun as being sectarian. Having re watched game this morning and “listened” tentatively I still did not hear sectarian references.

I did however hear 45 minutes of Effe Ambrose being racially abused by a section of the Dundee support.

If you percieved what you heard to be racial abuse then it’s racial abuse end of,however I have already commented that I was unaware of same. The nearest Dundee supporters were fifty yards to my left and to be quite honest I never heard one chant from them all night due to the noise going on roundabout me

If you deem shitty refereeing and shitty commentating at the time of your posts to be more worthy of comment than the racial abuse of a Celtic player then god help us

  25. SoT-The pricing for CL games has been excellent for ST holders IMO but £49 for a non ST holder is excessive, not everyone can afford a ST.HH
