I’m sure many of you will remember the home game against Dundee in April 2001. We needed a win to be able to secure the title the following week, at home, against St Mirren. After the game Martin O’Neill sounded irritated at the anxiety in the crowd, oblivious to the fact that the loss of a late goal would have denied many of us the opportunity to be there when the title was won.
If you’ve been there for the highs (Aberdeen) and lows (Kilmarnock) of the league season you’ve earned a ticket to the party. Let’s hope the SPL deliver a home game next, as reported.
Apologies for the extended downtime yesterday. Plans are afoot for five new servers to load-balance CQN (which sounds a lot right now but we’ve had similar thoughts before).
Let the record show that the death of Margaret Thatcher brought CQN down longer than when Rangers did the decent thing. Was hearing the news a ‘JFK moment’? I was in the wee room at the time, a treat for all the senses, so I’m not sure how my memory will handle the situation…. mostly audio.

Tooting Tim,
For me the important bit is the figures mentioned in the AT piece. Although the exact amount Mr Loughrey was prepared to pay for the club, or how that deal might have been structured is unknown, the fact that he had 850m euros at his disposal suggests that this would have represented a significantly better deal for the creditors. As such, we can begin in some way to quantify just how much they (the creditors) were denied and therefore the extent of the fraud if that proves to be the case.
Livibhoy- did you see who is riding Super Ally?
Timmy Murphy.
Must be a joke or two in there.
Newcastle have always been a stinking hun loving club. It must be something to do with shipyards.
Even my da had stories about that mob from when he followed Celtic everywhere in his younger days..
Bawsman
It will need to be quite a big Green spike.

I widnae reply to you either lol!

When I worked down in Newcastle I found them to be hun Sympathisers.
jimtim 1600 that’s quite a mind set there looking for the demise of others (to be fair if there was to be a list that would be quite popular). Myself I feel Celtic’s success will be borne from what Celtic and its fans do. Rangers are deed and the importance of those on your hit list ever diminishing. This site is often too busy worrying about irrelevant others and not much about a positive strategy for our club. I’d like to read more about who we should bring in this close season. As a group I don’t think the Celtic support pressurize the board like we used to regarding expectations for incoming signings. I would also like to see fitness coaching freshened up a bit – something was amiss this season – too many injuries.
Newcastle must have forgotten this

And the SPL Website crashes again, mickey mouse outfit…
Dodo FC had a riot in Newcastle ??? 1969 or 1970
Right enough just list away games for them at that time and it would have been a riot.

I think most of us are quite happy with the signing policy at Celtic Park. Most people are realistic on the targets we can bring to the club.

I was just checking it two minutes ago and found same…. must be only capable of 1 at a time.
You try now and I’ll wait

This is indeed very serious. I lost my best friend to bowel cancer that spread to his liver a few days short of his 45 birthday. He wouldn’t have been in the age range but for those who are take the test. Increase your chances of survival.
Jimbo67 I’ve had a colonoscopy myself and fortunately all clear (at that time).
I will be in the age range myself in a few birthdays time and I will certainly be taking the test.
After writing several emails to my local MSP, list as well as constituency I am starting to get replies, I’ll leave names out for now, and go by party responses.
Tory, positive response, our leader has taken this up with Strathclyde Police and we will let you know their response.
Labour, new MSP, I am aware of the situation and have spoken to my colleagues, who opposed the legislation as it went through Parliament, we continue to oppose it now it is legislation.
SNP, your MSP is busy, he will respond at some undetermined time in the future.
PP’d by Alison, his secretary.
CRC, lunch was lovely, found a nice Tapas bar via your link, Thanks.
Last game of the season is at Tannadice.

I’m relaxed about the signings since:
A. The scouting staff are cutting the mustard
B. Watched our emerging youth dismantle Man City in Manchester with Vhman last year
I thought Paul George was better than Tony Watt and/or McGeoch in that game.
Goldstar
Very good!;-)
Take the Test though!

‘Former HBOS chief executive Sir James Crosby has asked for his knighthood to be removed.
He will also forgo 30% of his pension following last week’s critical report into the bank’s collapse. Sir James served as chief executive at HBOS between 2001 and 2006.’
I wonder if Sir Minty will follow suit when HMRC eventually win the Big Tax Case…

“something was amiss this season…..too many injuries” ……..
Would suggest that has something to do with the ‘enthusiasm’ of our opponents…..?

Wonder what 30% of his pension is worth?
DU v Motherwell on Friday night 19th April @1945.
Motherwell away to DU on the Friday Night,as i thought the SFA/SPL want a damp squib title party to suit their Armageddon bollox
steinreignedsupreme 1627 – to be fair it has been successful thus far but even NL has stated the need for a few mature signings. If we sell some big players (as expected) I would hope we don’t just buy ‘potential’. If we do we will never move forward in Europe, and would have peaked already, I would like to see us aim for last 8. For sure it is a balancing act but what use is a healthy bank balance without ambition on the field. Buy kids for future but use some transfer money to bring in a bit of expierience.
Inverness at Celtic Park is the next game – 21 April.

Celtic winning the league is never a ‘damp squib’. I’ll celebrate it just as much as i did last years title.
67 heaven – aye maybe a bit but they never tugged at the hamstrings of our players at beginning of the season.
tim tanium- I have, twice, fortunately been clear, just got the most recent results last week.
Fully endorse your sentiments though, a free service that could save your life, please don’t ignore.
ten men-Agreed but you think Sky would have wanted Celtic to win it in a live game
I think the main constituent for my area is James Kelly but i’ve had no reply from him or the SNP constituents
Bawsman- that sounds encouraging I must admit. I am thinking short term if we lose a few big players in the summer and want a run in Europe we need a doze of expierience. I know its a bit ambitious but guys of the ilk of Giggs (or Neville who is retiring from Everton). I was going to suggest Robbie Keane but mibee no.

Take the test Ghuys!
If you don’t future procedures could be intrusive to say the least.
I ignored it and it cost me 6 months work, worry and the loss of full-time employment.
No laughing matter!

Sky don’t give a monkeys about the Scottish game. The money they pay for it is the equivalent of me + you losing a couple of pounds. They should be booted into touch when the deal runs out.

I have a soft spot for them too.
The Florida Everglades.
I have done the home test for bowel cancer a couple of times and, fortunately, they both came back clear.
Congratulations are due to the health authorities for giving us the opportunity to do it.
One question though – why is the upper age limit 74? Is it considered not worth bothering after that or is there a more frequent test for elderly people?
