Bizarre fantasy-rant from Miller

1206

Someone forwarded me the statement from US based Bill Miller which I read and ignored, thinking it was a wind-up.  Incredibly, it’s ““Real””.

Bill tells us he will invest £11.2m into the club and:

“There is no way that Ticketus would agree to accept a “pence on the pound.

“It is apparent that there will be several lawsuits that will emerge in relation to a potential CVA exit.

“In order to preserve the club’s history, records, championships and assets, I will put the “heart” of the club into an “incubator” company while Duff & Phelps works to make the “sick patient” healthy through a CVA process that effectively works to “radiate” the toxicity of past administrations’ sins out of the patient while the “healthy heart” is preserved and moves forward.”

The above is an actual quote.  I’m not even sure the pubs are open in America at this time of day.

But Bill, the “sick patient” owns the stadium, and as you suggest, a CVA would be prolonged.  Craig Whyte owns security over the stadium and your refusal to deal with him might make playing there…. awkward.  Any creditor, like HMRC or Whyte, could and perhaps would challenge a disposal of assets like the one you suggest.

He goes on:

“Any suggestion that Rangers history is lost by such a process is preposterous.

“Using such logic, Rangers would not actually have a 140-year history as its current corporate structure was only created in 1899. To suggest that Rangers thus have only a 113-year-old history is absurd.”

We’ve explained this one before.  Rangers were incorporated 113 years ago; “Real”.  The same entity, owning the same assets, existed pre-incorporation as an unincorporated football club.

Buying and selling history is almost as entertaining as buying the Eiffel Tower in cash off a guy in a Bellshill pub.  If it’s possible, I demand Celtic PLC get off their bums and buy the history of ancient Greece.

Bill adds:

“My offer is contingent upon the regulatory bodies agreeing that the club will begin play in the 2012/13 season in the SPL and that they will do so without any loss of points and with all historic titles intact.”

Ah, “contingent upon”.  A condition; just what Duff and Phelps asked to be excluded.  You’ve underplayed this one, Bill.  If the SPL will agree to this they will surely agree to give you a 10 point bonus next season, just for being so nice.

“The time for talk is over. The club is in serious jeopardy of dying. “Real” [sic]liquidation is looming.”

I like this guy.  He sounds like a “Real” level headed custodian for Rangers. Alas, I fear Duff and Phelps will be in sombre mood when next we hear from them.

I’ve noticed recently that demolitions no longer reduce a building to rubble, they then put all the rubble through a crusher to make it easier to recycle.

    So,to answer your question….

    Almost!

  3. If Rangers survive with an ‘incubation’ be prepared for another 10 SPL clubs going in to ‘incubation’ , and the SPL being renamed the Scottish Post-natal League

  4. To the heart of the matter from RangersTaxCase:

Most commentators on this saga believe that Rangers will be found to have acted illegally and were breaking UK tax law in their implementation of the EBT scheme. If / when this is formalised, the SFA & SPL face an issue which cannot be parried away without causing permanent damage to the Scottish game. The widespread use of the EBTs at Ibrox means that there cannot be any serious debate that Rangers fielded players who they could not afford during this period. Using illegal means to fund their playing staff was cheating. It is that simple. If by some miracle a CVA happens and Rangers survive intact or if the SFA/SPL allow Rangers’ membership share to be transferred to a newco, then punishment must be meted out. That punishment must be proportional to the fact that other clubs suffered huge financial losses as a result of that cheating. The punishment must also include consideration of the damage to the reputation of the Scottish game as well. Anything less and there will be little point in watching Scottish football. Anything less and it will be clear that it is a rigged game with a tilted table and loaded dice- all for the benefit of just a single club.

    Good Morning all,

Can I just highlight that 5 year old Niamh Curry is back in hospital this morning and is pretty poorly.

As many of you will know Niamh suffers the same Neuroblastoma Cancer as Vanessa Riddle, and Knoxy’s wee bhoy Oscar. Her only hope of a life of any meaningful length is if she gets treatment in the same specialist hospital in Philadelphia as Vanessa — and for that to happen she needs to raise £450,000.

As of a few minutes ago ahe had managed to raise £157,092.54, and although this is a significant sum, it is clearly short of target.

Can I therefore make a plea to anyone who is considering spending a fiver on a pint today, or sticking £5 on a Nap with the bookies, or buying a packet of fags or buying a book or whatever……. To do the equivalent of buying a couple of pints, placing a bet, buying a spare packet of twenty, or get an extra book for Niamh by simply making a donation here:

    http://www.justgiving.com/NiamhsNextStep or by texting CURE50 £x to 70070

Every one who does that makes a real difference to this wee girls life.

Whilst others elsewhere ponse about and position themselves over the alleged need and social responsibility involved in saving a football club, or buying a share or a stake in the assets of a football club, I much prefer the image of a group of football fans coming together with a sum of money with a view to saving a wee innocent like Niamh.

It is what we were formed to do, and it is what makes us walk tall amongst all others.

    Thanks for Reading.

A few criticisms of Neil Lennon creeping in again I see.

I agree that we did not play well against either Kilmarnock or Hearts, but by its nature football is a game where you can play badly and win.

I’ve no doubt whatsoever that had Fat Sally, a man inferior to Neil Lennon in any positive character trait you care to mention, taken his team his team to Hampden, they’d have a LC in the bag and be in the SC Final.

The reason I say that is that THEY would have been awarded a penalty for the challenge on Stokes, and they would NEVER have had that Hearts penalty awarded against them.

Until anyone can honestly argue I’m wrong about that, we don’t have a level playing field and while every other team in the league merely has to be good enough to win, we have to be MORE than good enough.

    That’s not a sport.

  21. Brogan Rogan Trevino and Hogan supports Kano 1000 on

    BMCUW

You are absolutely correct in that it seems to be more prevalent than any of us just thought. In the last few minutes I have received another tweet concerning yet another child who is fighting the disease– 6 year old Jamie O’Sullivan.

We supposedly have an NHS in this country– a service that we are meant to be proud of and treasure– and whilst raising funds is all very admirable and worthwhile, I begin to get angrier and angrier about this.

I imagine that if any of my children were ever to be struck down with this disease my absolute focus would be on raising the money by whatever means to get the appropriate treatment for him or her. However each day my nerves would be shattered and at times my spirits would be low with the awful pressure of it all.

So, can I make a different plea to some of our more politically active members. Can you write to your MP or MSP or EuroMP and ask how in God’s Name this situation is allowed to exist– not just in the UK but in Europe!!

There must be kids from France, Italy, Germany and all over with this dreadful dreadful condition. Surely to God they cannot all be going to Philadelphia? Surely there must be some way to make treatment far more readily available and at a much lesser cost whereby families whose lives are already in turmoil do not need to rely on Bozos like me and others to try and drum up a few quid here and there?

There must be a better way than this. The treatment is known, it is established, it is successful, it is available– just not available enough or locally or at a reasonable cost.

This is economics playing with kids lives and to me, at least, it is just not acceptable that families should be placed in this position– time after time!

If you can spend millions and millions of pounds cocking up a set of tram lines then you can tackle Neuroblastoma!

  29. The kid has a short memory

GERRY COLLINS last night told Islam Feruz his foul-mouthed Twitter rant has desecrated the memory of Celtic legend Tommy Burns.

The Chelsea kid posted an expletive-laden comment on his account yesterday denying claims the Parkhead club had played a role in helping his family fight deportation from the UK six years ago.

But Collins, a close friend of Burns from childhood, claims Feruz should gets his facts straight and show more respect to the man who “fought tooth and nail” to keep his family here.

The intervention of then youth boss Burns was instrumental in stopping the family being sent back to war-torn Somalia.

But Feruz tweeted a furious rebuttal during an online blast when he gave his version of events.

He tweeted: CELTIC did f*** all with me staying in this country, get your f****** facts right and stop going with the story u read in the daily record!!”

The 16-year-old moved to Stamford Bridge in a cut-price compensation deal last summer and Collins insists the striker has disrespected the man to which the player owes everything.

He said: “It’s disgusting what the boy has said and shows a terrible lack of respect for everything Tommy did for him and his family. He hasn’t achieved anything yet in the game but I can tell him this, whatever he does go on to achieve in football will be down to Tommy Burns and he should be eternally grateful.

“I remember Tommy telling me he had discovered a gem but the Feruz family were facing deportation to a war zone and the issue became something Tommy fought tooth and nail to prevent.

“Football was a secondary issue, it was an act of humanity and compassion from Tommy, which was typical of the man.”

Feruz, who was raised in Castlemilk, Glasgow, made history as the first asylum-seeker to earn an international call-up under FIFA’s new eligibility rules when he represented Scotland’s Under-17 side two years ago.

And only this week Scots Under-21 boss Billy Stark named the striker in his squad for next week’s friendly against Italy, which will make him the youngest player to pull on the Dark Blue jersey at that level if he takes to the field.

But Collins believes the talented youngster should remember that international recognition comes a distant second to how you represent yourself as a person.

He said: “It’s hard to put into context the lack of gratitude this kid shows with these comments, it’s very sad.

“If Celtic did nothing for him then I would ask what moving him and his family from Castlemilk into a luxury flat in Charing Cross was?”

Feruz also posted a remark about his lack of progress during his spell at Parkhead and gloated over his role in helping Chelsea to the English FA Youth Cup Final.

He tweeted: “Heres a fact for you tweeps … 6-7 yrs at celtic n never reached a cup final, one year at chelsea … What happens??”
