Bizarre fantasy-rant from Miller

1206

Someone forwarded me the statement from US based Bill Miller which I read and ignored, thinking it was a wind-up.  Incredibly, it’s ““Real””.

Bill tells us he will invest £11.2m into the club and:

“There is no way that Ticketus would agree to accept a “pence on the pound.

“It is apparent that there will be several lawsuits that will emerge in relation to a potential CVA exit.

“In order to preserve the club’s history, records, championships and assets, I will put the “heart” of the club into an “incubator” company while Duff & Phelps works to make the “sick patient” healthy through a CVA process that effectively works to “radiate” the toxicity of past administrations’ sins out of the patient while the “healthy heart” is preserved and moves forward.”

The above is an actual quote.  I’m not even sure the pubs are open in America at this time of day.

But Bill, the “sick patient” owns the stadium, and as you suggest, a CVA would be prolonged.  Craig Whyte owns security over the stadium and your refusal to deal with him might make playing there…. awkward.  Any creditor, like HMRC or Whyte, could and perhaps would challenge a disposal of assets like the one you suggest.

He goes on:

“Any suggestion that Rangers history is lost by such a process is preposterous.

“Using such logic, Rangers would not actually have a 140-year history as its current corporate structure was only created in 1899. To suggest that Rangers thus have only a 113-year-old history is absurd.”

We’ve explained this one before.  Rangers were incorporated 113 years ago; “Real”.  The same entity, owning the same assets, existed pre-incorporation as an unincorporated football club.

Buying and selling history is almost as entertaining as buying the Eiffel Tower in cash off a guy in a Bellshill pub.  If it’s possible, I demand Celtic PLC get off their bums and buy the history of ancient Greece.

Bill adds:

“My offer is contingent upon the regulatory bodies agreeing that the club will begin play in the 2012/13 season in the SPL and that they will do so without any loss of points and with all historic titles intact.”

Ah, “contingent upon”.  A condition; just what Duff and Phelps asked to be excluded.  You’ve underplayed this one, Bill.  If the SPL will agree to this they will surely agree to give you a 10 point bonus next season, just for being so nice.

“The time for talk is over. The club is in serious jeopardy of dying. “Real” [sic]liquidation is looming.”

I like this guy.  He sounds like a “Real” level headed custodian for Rangers. Alas, I fear Duff and Phelps will be in sombre mood when next we hear from them.

    GN m8,

I hope Neil has you purring next season at his awesomeness.

    HH.

At the moment this young team are bad favourites but brilliant underdogs. I would say that would typify Neil Lennon’s rise to the top of the professional game as a footballer.

Headhunted Experience will be a game changer for this young team. ;))

Neil was wrong to run on the pitch after

    the game.

He is our manager and the embodiment of Celtic

and that is not the way we do things.

    =======================================

Thanks Gordon, I like that you gave an answer that was so much more concise than mine! I’m quite sure I can’t reciprocate.

I agree with the idea that the manager embodies the club. This is a huge responsibility to place in one man. Neil Lennon surely understands that. We all know what it is like to support Celtic, but only 10 people alive know what it’s like to manage them.

What is the way that “we” do things, and who explains that to the manager?

For example, was Jock Stein wrong to steam into the crowd singing IRA songs? Was MON wrong to walk Neil up to the Celtic end at Ibrox? Was Billy McNeill wrong to have a pop at Gerry McNee?

Each reader may have different answers to eachof these questions, and I accept that we have different views of acceptable behavour for Celtic managers. As long as our manager is doing what is best for our team, then I’;m inclined to support him. Of course, we all disagree on what is best, but as long as you’re not letting some sense of media approval dictate Celtic’s policy, then I’m happy to agree to disagree.

  3. Cowardice asks the question – is it safe?

Expediency asks the question – is it politic?

Vanity asks the question – is it popular?

But conscience asks the question – is it right?

And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular; but one must take it because it is right.

    One Neil Lennon.

We will have to agree to disagree there then. It was IMO, highly thought out by Neil and he would much rather not have done it unless he felt he had to.

With Neil banned for 2 matches . Plus however many for the next review @ sfa rfc ia.

Would it not be a good idea for him to go on an extensive scouting mission?

Also to send most (if not all) of the main squad, on an early sabatical.

Especially as WE have won the league.

Give the first team a good rest pre season, and ready for the pre lims of the european qualifiers. The league is won play (maybe the youth plus squad players) for rest of the matches. It would give our euro league team an early holiday, and be back early to prepare.

No probs m8. I understand what your saying and believe me I wont hold his actions against him. I wanted to run on that pitch too, so can fully appreciate the logic.

My concern though is 2 fold. 1. Touchline bans. I would much rather he vented on CFC.com, CQN.com, anywhere else other than the full glare of the vampires that are the scottish football sports journalists. I want our manager where he should be, on the touchline!

    2. If any of us were to do what he did we would be spending the weekend drinking terrible tea, eating shocking sausages & fishcakes shouting on the turnkey to let us have a ****

His actions may have been highly thought out at the time and you, me and the majority of us will agree his actions were of a true tim. As i said though, he is an intelligent man and I would much rather see him where he needs to be rather than playing into the hands of the masons within Hampden.

Thats not to say, each time he wears his heart on his sleeve i love the man just a little bit more :)

    Cults..,

I think thats the first time the ‘sarcastic alternative’ has been offered, well first time I’ve seen it.

Every other manager tried, its a failed strategy, they enjoy timmy

Like Auldheid keeps saying, the defenition of mad is, keep using a failed strategy and expect a different outcome.

This is the first time in our history we have had a chance to expose Scotlands shame, lets not make a joke of it.

A real opportunity to make a difference.

    HH my good man.

Ordinarily I would not want Neil to do what he done but you have to take things in context.

He had been cheated out of 3 Big events, the Ibrox starter has now been proven to be a carve up between the officials at the game. Neil was very strong about this at the time.

They still cheated him out of the LC Final.

Their new STAR pupil Norris made the decisive penalty call knowing exactly what he was doing. I don’t care a jot about what anyone says, look at Norris and his demeanour after he awards the kick, it says I am cheating and can’t even face anything.

Now, I think it was really appropriate that Neil faced the Cheater who could not face any of the Celtic players after he gave the award.

The Future is Celtic, the Wonderful Glasgow Celtic’s.

We are experiencing a dreadful blowback from a seriously dirty and corrupt organisation domestically that has been exposed to be filthy in so many ways. Campbell, are you still there?

Celtic are a peace loving people and Club.

Who would not want to embrace what Celtic stand for?

All Neil done that day was say Celtic will Never, under his tutelage accept cheaters influencing his games.

Norris Cheated and Norris knows he cheated like the whole UK knows.

The Whole of Scotland deserves a level playing field, not just Celtic. Celtic have overcome the monster but it has left most Scottish clubs in serious trouble.

Not that I am complaining about the time it is taking for the effects of the pointed stake, silver bullet and copious sunshine to kill the beast. Lent and Easter would have been a bit boring and austere were it not for the continuing daily tribulations of the huns.

Jock Stein would, In my uneducated opinion, be very impressed at how well Neil Francis Lennon is going about his business.

The next few games should be very exciting as we will get to see the best of the young players who competed well against Europes finest young teams.

A single Post on FF highlights perfectly why they’re where they are.

I think all the fans should head to ibrox stadium on monday.

Its looking like the BKs can only throw this away and touch wood we hear a positive announcement, if so i think it would be nice timing for all the bears to congregate at Ibrox.

We are the fans and this is our moment, for the first time throughout all this saga i see light at the end of the tunnel. It would be great if we could all head over and experience what could be a monumental moment in our history. Also the world eye will be on us and it would give them a glimpse what this great club means to so many of us, would also be great press coverage and make a statement to everyone how loyal and committed we are to this great club. It will also demonstrate to the world that the supporters are the club and we will do all within our power to make sure that this fine club has another 140 years of fine history ahead of us and the rest.

Obviously if the BKs get announced we still have a long way to go but i am confident a CVA will be reached and think it would be a fine gesture to demonstrate to everyone how united we are in these difficult times, i’ve got a great feeling that we could look back on monday as one of the most spiritual moments in history and if so i would like to say i was at ibrox the day it happened.

I met a traveller from an antique land

Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone

Stand in the desart. Near them, on the sand,

Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,

And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,

Tell that its sculptor well those passions read

Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,

The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:

And on the pedestal these words appear:

“My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:

Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!”

Nothing beside remains. Round the decay

Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare

The lone and level sands stretch far away.
