Bizarre fantasy-rant from Miller

1206

Someone forwarded me the statement from US based Bill Miller which I read and ignored, thinking it was a wind-up.  Incredibly, it’s ““Real””.

Bill tells us he will invest £11.2m into the club and:

“There is no way that Ticketus would agree to accept a “pence on the pound.

“It is apparent that there will be several lawsuits that will emerge in relation to a potential CVA exit.

“In order to preserve the club’s history, records, championships and assets, I will put the “heart” of the club into an “incubator” company while Duff & Phelps works to make the “sick patient” healthy through a CVA process that effectively works to “radiate” the toxicity of past administrations’ sins out of the patient while the “healthy heart” is preserved and moves forward.”

The above is an actual quote.  I’m not even sure the pubs are open in America at this time of day.

But Bill, the “sick patient” owns the stadium, and as you suggest, a CVA would be prolonged.  Craig Whyte owns security over the stadium and your refusal to deal with him might make playing there…. awkward.  Any creditor, like HMRC or Whyte, could and perhaps would challenge a disposal of assets like the one you suggest.

He goes on:

“Any suggestion that Rangers history is lost by such a process is preposterous.

“Using such logic, Rangers would not actually have a 140-year history as its current corporate structure was only created in 1899. To suggest that Rangers thus have only a 113-year-old history is absurd.”

We’ve explained this one before.  Rangers were incorporated 113 years ago; “Real”.  The same entity, owning the same assets, existed pre-incorporation as an unincorporated football club.

Buying and selling history is almost as entertaining as buying the Eiffel Tower in cash off a guy in a Bellshill pub.  If it’s possible, I demand Celtic PLC get off their bums and buy the history of ancient Greece.

Bill adds:

“My offer is contingent upon the regulatory bodies agreeing that the club will begin play in the 2012/13 season in the SPL and that they will do so without any loss of points and with all historic titles intact.”

Ah, “contingent upon”.  A condition; just what Duff and Phelps asked to be excluded.  You’ve underplayed this one, Bill.  If the SPL will agree to this they will surely agree to give you a 10 point bonus next season, just for being so nice.

“The time for talk is over. The club is in serious jeopardy of dying. “Real” [sic]liquidation is looming.”

I like this guy.  He sounds like a “Real” level headed custodian for Rangers. Alas, I fear Duff and Phelps will be in sombre mood when next we hear from them.

I agree the HMRC could do all this.

However in the present financial climate is unlikely to put more public expense at risk as fraudulent intent would need to be ‘proved’ in court.

  2. I hope Feruz goes on to be the superstar we hoped he would become at Celtic. The lad is still very young, give him a break. Just because Celtic gave him a chance, re:giving him a chance with his football career and helping his family, does not mean we own the kid. There is not a thought or much coverage of the young bhoys we cut every year. Telling them they are not good enough. I hope he makes it. Be it at Chelsea or where ever.

    Bang on ! .

Maybe the liable loyal and those who were in the know will be able to “borrow” the necessary from the financial institution in Edinburgh which threw money at a coterie of chancers. ?

Maybe the UK tax payer could bail out the liable ?

    Big up Operation Hornet.

He says (of Bill Miller statement)

“I ploughed my way through paragraph after paragraph of contradictory statement. Of mumbo jumbo jumbo. Of total twaddle”.

    Just like reading his blog.

    His coup de gras was-

“As I said, it was akin to the barrage which was fired at Rommel and his Afrika Korps the night before El Alamein. And we all know what came next when Monty sent his troops over the top.

Duff and Phelps should ponder that. And remember Al Jolson’s words. They ain’t seen nothing yet”.

From Rommel to Al Jolson. Genius

How satisfying is it for the rest of Scottish Football to now know that every trophy ‘they’ won over the past 12 to 15 years was TAINTED to an extent that the Law will be intervening…….. Paranoid ?

Time for the young Chelsea player’s club to take care of his long term interests and well being in a way his agent and family haven’t.

The boy left for money. He was always going to earn well at Celtic before getting a good move if he did well.

Agents can turn heads and manufacture problems to help make money. Young players without guidance are easy prey.

  13. Mistakes are honest ones, says Mjallby

“You’d have to ask Neil, but I don’t think it’s personal,” said Mjallby. “I’d say that some of the decisions have been mistakes but that’s something you have to go with. The players and coaches make mistakes as well. We won’t talk about it any more; we have to move on from it now. You have to accept that [they are honest mistakes].”

Did Johann actually say that Michael Grant? cant find an exact quote

Why did you insert in brackets(they are honest mistakes) into Mjallby’s quote, tabloid hack nonsense from the Glasgow herald no wonder sales continue downwards, you lost my money via Mr Grant long time ago

    Derek,

    I don’t agree with respect.

Less than a year ago i was involved in the settlement of such an action brought agaainst Directors by a liquidator funded purely by HMRC to chase PAYE and other Government taxes and they had far less to go on than they will have in the case of Rangers players/Directors/Managers.

Also they have been clamoing down on football clubs for some time now and if somebody deems it in the public interest to chase one or two then it will be done make no mistake.

Lastly, there are definitely some practitioners out there who would take this on a no win no fee basis– partly because of the evidence and partly to get on the panel of or retain status with HMRC for other work.

If you were a Directpr who was paid by an EBT, who has recently and over the years received a huge sum by way of remuneration, if you have e-mails asking the contracts to be shredded, if you have plead in your own court case that Rangers were insolvent (virtually) while you were at the helm then you will be advised by your lawyers to pay up– even a compromise deal.

If you sue for say £2m– the expense in defending that alone is such that you will consider paying something.

Anyway– we will wait and see– the point is that the law is there that allows them to take such action if they choose.

Bill Miller is known to prefer doing business with cash.

    Wonder why ?.

He may find that it will take a lot of cash to lever the man who bought Rangers for a £ 1 away from a business he owns 85 % of.

There is a very instructive 90 min video that is well worth watching.

It tells the whole sorry story of how Rangers ended up in 140 million of debt

and on the brink of liquidation.

Its called Celtic 2 Inter milan 1 and was recorded on the 25th May 1967.

No class and even less humility. I had nothing but good wishes for the boy when he left for Chelsea after all I think that’s what Tommy Burns would have wished.

However, this isn’t the first time he has made comments regarding our club, he was even pictured wearing a hun strip recently.

This time it’s not his remarks about Celtic that offend me, it’s his claim that Tommy did f all to help him and his family in their time of need.

His age is not an excuse.
