The resignation of Charles Green from his post as Rangers International chief executive last month was more curious for what it wasn’t – a resignation from the board. Green retained his position as a director of the club. This was always likely to have consequences.
BBC report this morning that club chairman, Malcolm Murray, who media outlets loyal to Green reported innuendo against earlier this year, in what was viewed as an attempt to discredit and ultimately remove him, yesterday lost a vote of confidence at a board meeting.
I am certain the vote of confidence was called by Murray himself after he informed the board, including Charles Green, of how he intends to deal with the important matters surrounding the club at this time. In particular, what he plans to do with information received from Pinsent Masons and forensic accountants from Deloitte. The investigation underway by Pinsents and Deloittes is only taking place at the insistence of Murray.
The innuendo against Murray was inappropriate and part of a dirty tricks campaign against the man by those who do not have Rangers best interests at heart [the irony is searing]. The normal reaction to losing a vote of confidence is to resign and let your opponents deal with the consequences of their actions. Murray may feel he has done all he can for the club (or company, if that is how some would like to start calling the entity now). Those who invested in Craig Whyte’s various claims last month will enormously encouraged.
On Friday I’ll be joined by Phil Mac Giolla Bhain and Paul McConville at the Columba Club, Blantyre, for what is certain to be an enjoyable Question and Answer event. Tickets, £5 each, for the Columba Charitable Fund, are available at the door. I’m really looking forward to it. See you there.

30th June lots saying on Moyes EFC contract. So nominal;y would have to negotiate an exit to get MUFC job in 48 hrs.My sources look correct.
Also, people claiming Mourinho doesn’t fit the way Man Utd want their managers to conduct themselves off the field. Seriously, where do people get this shite?
For the horsey posters:
SAF horse ‘Butterfly McQueen’ runs in the 3.50pm Boodles Diamond Maiden Stakes @11/1 – going out with a winner?
Huns deid yet?
Anyone heard from Owen Coyle’s granny?
After carefully considering all the possible replacements for Sir Alex Ferguson following the recent announcement,i have to admit that I couldn’t give a monkeys who the next manager of Man Utd is.
We might see a return of the ole Norwich scarves at Old Trafford next season as the post-Ferguson blues kicks-in.
I know United supporters claim to hate Scousers, but at least Liverpool fans are not fickle with their protests.
Conte from Juventus would be a great appointment for Man Utd.
The salvering over SAF will begin today and probably end at the start of next season.
LB
Man Utd didn’t achieve 23 years with one manager because they had a different approach to management, they achieved it because they had a different manager.
SAF is an anomaly, it would be ridiculous to think you could immediately repeat such an appointment.
Man Utd will fall back on the recruitment techniques that every other big club which weren’t blessed with such a unique and consistent manager have used for the past 20 years.
My money’s on Mourinho.

Is that matrimony you`re talking about ?
Is Sally not one of the favourites to land the MU job?

You are right on both counts. The cheerleading of the EPL being best league in world has no substance. German and Spanish league are worlds ahead currently. Yes, Bayern biggest German team by far and they have lost very good players to their rivals. The English game is in decline but yet becoming more expensive

Ten Men Who Win the League
whilst I am not championing Davie Moyesfor anything (although I was very keen fo him to have been Celtic Manager after both WGS and Tony Mowbray) I don’t get your style of footie critique. Everton have been one of the most attacking teams this season and have been very entertaining.

I agree, i enjoy watching them alot more than watching man city, man united.

That’s better Kev, now we know where we stand.
At least then we don’t have to worry aboot him be poached by Man Utd.

Justin Currie (24/04/13)
No
I don’t like the Scots. I don’t like them at all. They’re close-lipped, tight-fisted, pass-remarkable and bad at football. They’re cold-hearted and hot-tempered, they’re mottle-fleshed and pig-headed. They’re drunkards, cowards and traitors. They’re lily-livered, if you like. They’re bad losers, ill-mannered, foul-breathed and mean-spirited. They’re past caring, they’re beyond reprieve, they’re the snot on England’s sleeve. They’ve ruined everything, left us wanting. They’ve taken all that’s good and made it tawdry, they’ve spoilt the country, closed their ears to the plight of many, they’re blinded by the smell of money. They’re pigs-in-shit, you’ll never hear the end of it. Fucking Flower Of Scotland, stupid tartan tea-cup morons. They’re everywhere, the little shits, trying to stir it up, get their little bit of something rotten. Do you want a country of your own with a queen and an army and a god maybe to treasure and inspire when it’s time to go to war? Are you ready to be told by some fool who talks like you but has the morals of a goat? Well, I’m not and I don’t and I won’t, I won’t, I won’t.
Googybhoy,
I never heard/ read that.
They will have to learn from the Busby legacy, which cast too big a shadow over the place, by his presence around the club.
A succession of managers couldn’t cope with that.
Time will tell.
Just listened to Pat Crerand making an ass of himself in a radio interview from yesterday.
He wad asked about the speculation about AF retiring and he went into a seven minute rant about media speculation and how he spent 3 or4 hours at OT the previous day and spoke to many people.
He said that no one mentioned anything about Fergie’s plans.
Crerand is employed by MUTV, so would be in the loop.
He was abusive to the guy interviewing him and merely showed himself up tobe the corner boy he always was.
One boy in the studio signed off by saying, “I’d love to play this back to Paddy to orrlw, if the speculation is true”.
‘Sir’ Cardihun was (very) briefly Fergie’s assistant -for about two days.
How is he doing in the betting?

Should you not be starting the tidying-up?
Yer ither half will be there on Saturday, with a critical eye!
Re Justin currie.
Can’t argue with that.
KevJungle, what would NFL have to achieve to make you say, ok ghuys, he’s done well, I got it wrong, beat Barcelona again? 3in a row, four, five?
A treble? The landscape in Scottish football is changing, crowds aren’t going down because NFL is manager. The Huns no longer being around is part of the reason, but a bigger part is the economic climate.
I’d be interested to know, so what would it take?
If you’re going to the Q&A on Friday, I’ll buy you a beer and we can have a blether about it.
Bobby Russell
That is quite incredible.
Folk like him give Scots a bad name quite literally.
I cannot work out whether that is a case for or against Independence to be quite honest.

Been years since I was last in Tokyo . It was a great place to buy vinyl jazz . I’m assured it still is . . Lots of wee stores run by obsessive fanatics . Lots of wee bars and cafes specializing in a jazz vibe . Can be rather fanatical — might only play Blue Note or Riverside [only] or Verve[ only] or ECM[only ] . Guys in suits / pork pie hats and loafers..
I really liked —-Searching for the wrong eyed Jesus.
Kev Jungle your figures 35k-15k I assume are the crowd figures for Celtic Park. Can I ask you where this figure came from? Can I look this up somewhere or are they “your” figures. I,m sure you have a satisfactory explanation that can be verified. Hail Hail Hebcelt
In his tribute to Sir Alex Ferguson on the Celtic FC web site I thought the characteristics Lenny applied to SAF could apply equally to Lennon himself, the strongest being the desire to win.
That desire keeps him going in circumstances where many would have lost and walked away. That desire has put a team on the park that wins trophies and games that count within the financial constraints that apply to Celtic.
The environment in which Celtic have to play football is hostile and in such an environment you need a winner at the helm. SAF did not win everything, it took time before he built up a head of steam to become a consistent winner and he operated in less hostile territory.
Folk who do not appreciate the whole context of being a manager at Celtic will be happy to see losers appointed but then moan about the loser who replaced the winner.
Folk who are winners want a winner in charge. Until such time as Celtic play in a friendlier environment off the park we need a winner, if that environment changes then can we become football purists.
I see we are linked with charlie austin again.. Never saw him b4 .
Good option ??
Still raging About ross county performance at weekend . Not like me but alot of bhoys need moved on.

One of Lenny’s less-remembered achievements was getting us back to within six points of the deady bears in May 2010. But for that, they could have gone into administration knowing they had Champions’ League anyway and might have sorted themselves out.
proudbhoy “bread and butted games” Freudian slip I hope!! Hail Hail Hebcelt

“What do I have to do to make you love me”
You’ve made a name on here swimming against the tide and maybe you will be proved right, who knows but for me Neil has made a more than decent start to his management career, my yardstick being progress not perfection and the decline of football attendances not just at Celtic Park is a combination of many factors not just the product on the park.
As we reach then end of another season at Celtic my feeling is this, there have been some incredible highs and some strange lows and some wtf wis thats, just like pretty much all of the seasons I have supported Celtic.
People know in the hearts Kev that the game is bent and no matter how much you love Celtic that hurts..
As for the crowds look at any game in Europe and you will see the trend, perhaps Germany being the exception..
