The resignation of Charles Green from his post as Rangers International chief executive last month was more curious for what it wasn’t – a resignation from the board. Green retained his position as a director of the club. This was always likely to have consequences.
BBC report this morning that club chairman, Malcolm Murray, who media outlets loyal to Green reported innuendo against earlier this year, in what was viewed as an attempt to discredit and ultimately remove him, yesterday lost a vote of confidence at a board meeting.
I am certain the vote of confidence was called by Murray himself after he informed the board, including Charles Green, of how he intends to deal with the important matters surrounding the club at this time. In particular, what he plans to do with information received from Pinsent Masons and forensic accountants from Deloitte. The investigation underway by Pinsents and Deloittes is only taking place at the insistence of Murray.
The innuendo against Murray was inappropriate and part of a dirty tricks campaign against the man by those who do not have Rangers best interests at heart [the irony is searing]. The normal reaction to losing a vote of confidence is to resign and let your opponents deal with the consequences of their actions. Murray may feel he has done all he can for the club (or company, if that is how some would like to start calling the entity now). Those who invested in Craig Whyte’s various claims last month will enormously encouraged.
On Friday I’ll be joined by Phil Mac Giolla Bhain and Paul McConville at the Columba Club, Blantyre, for what is certain to be an enjoyable Question and Answer event. Tickets, £5 each, for the Columba Charitable Fund, are available at the door. I’m really looking forward to it. See you there.

So you would punt Zaluska? You don’t think we need a good back-up keeper?

“KevJungle, what would NFL have to achieve to make you say, ok ghuys, he’s done well, I got it wrong?”
Nothing.
Because he’s just looking for attention.
On the Q&A – am I right in thinking the club is on Carlowrie Avenue?
re: Justin Currie
Loved the Del’s music … their first album is still one of my all time favourites (although shaded by Cake by the Trashcan Sinatras) …. but JC (I) does love to hear himself talk, and (ii) seems to like to attract attention, and does so by talking a lot of s***e. Read his writings if there is any doubt about that. Wouldn’t take that rambling by JC too seriously.

I see we are linked with charlie austin again.. Never saw him b4 .
Good option ??
Big strong target man who knows where the goal is. Probably be outwith our price range and several lower end EPL clubs will be after him after the season he’s had (28 goals in 40 games). Newcastle rumoured to be interested but not sure what his French is like!!
AuldHeid, we certainly have a winner who hates losing and does everything possible to make sure it doesn’t happen too often. His win percentage is still in the high 60% range.
SAF, unarguably the best manager of his generation from these shores.
An old fashioned curmudgeon, who gets what he wants, another winner.
Happy retirement to him.
I’ve always like Man U, since they played in Jimmy Johnstone and Bobby Lennox joint testimonial.

As a special tribute to Sir Alex, I hear that Man Utd fans are going to have a round of applause in the 98th minute of their next home game

Googybhoy,
I never heard/ read that.
It has been mentioned numerous times on the radio this morning.
Agree about Busby influence. The thinking is that he and Moyes have a good working relationship. Moyes can use him for advice as many others such as Lenny do at present.
As long as SAF stays out of the publicity limelight, it should work.
My question will be can Moyes work with the top players and agents?
Time will tell.

————————————————————————————————————–Has anybody seen kevj and JC in the same room?
Auldheid,
All fair points and can’t disagree.
However, apart from the basic core who will turn up to games, there is a significant number who also want to watch attractive football.
If they feel they are not getting it, or as has been mentioned here, that what was on offer is boring, they will stop attending.
These people are football supporters as well as being Celtic supporters.
How often have you read on here that if it wasn’t for the GB, it wouldn’t be worth going to CP; or words to that effect.
When the side show becomes the main attraction, then we ate in trouble.

As for Neil – Stop taking all the kids to Dingwall…only to bring on
Paddy McCourt ? Does he not know anything else.
Don’t tell the media that yer going to drop players – just feckin do it !!!
Don’t try to kid folk-on that Joe Ledley deserves a new deal – nobodies coming to watch anymore Neil.
Don’t go to places like Murderwell when it was a sand-pit(2 years ago) and try to play fitba. It can’t be done, and yet – 2 years doon the road – a sand-pit a Dingwall and guess
what – Neil tries to play fitba AGAIN. What do you lear Neil ?
Don’t bring in a CH and wait until he looks like settling into a partnership with KW and then – do yer WGS-routine by moving the CH into – MF or RB ? I mean WTF?!?!?
Don’t blow the LCSF v’s St Mirren and then try to tell us we were brilliant ???
Don’t go into the 1st leg v’s Juve with – half the team carrying knocks and then, play with 3 up front ???
Neil – Kenny Sheils was correct when he said it was all aboot yer ego son – ye tried to be TOO gallus v’s Juve at home. imo
In the CL WE’RE the wee guys – we didny become big because we beat Barcelona ?
Yer best player in the CL – Sammi – who is invisible domestically – wisny fit for Juve
that meant it was time too screw the nut – Park The Bus !!!
With the benefit of hindsight – who had the better Euro campaign – Us or Benfica ?
And yet – we had street parties for going through to the last 16 – where as Benfica
had the better chance of progression. imo
Neil got it wrong when he spat the dummy aboot the POTY awards. imo
Neil – If yer players are a s good as you think – why do half the home crowd no come to see them any more ?
Hopefully that’s of help my Amigo

KevJ, sorta see what you’re getting at,individual decisions aren’t how to judge a manager for me. NFL knows better than we do who is ready to travel with the first team, and who is ready to play for the first team, entirely different things.
Over all we have had a couple of great seasons, titles wins, doing well in Europe, as Starry said. Progress. I’m happy we have a manager who loves the club, it’s not a prerequisite, but it helps pull the club and support together.
And if you do make it on Friday, I do drink, you can buy me the pint:-)

Will do.
On the other lad – countless people have tried and failed to engage him in serious debate. He comes out with the same tripe on a daily basis because he deals in tabloid fantasy rather than hard facts.
He’s not interested in opinions – just sh1t stirring.
Proudboy
I would like to see both Russell and Gary McKay Steven signed and any on your list bar Hooper if he wants to play for us and Kayal stay.
The two Utd lads would not play SPL games as if they were won already not having been part of Celtic in the past two seasons and having something to prove.
If Hooper wants away I would use his transfer fee to get both lads.
new article posted.
