Celtic coaches and the March Grand Tour

453

The March international break is one of the most important of the club season.  It is when managers and coaches get to take a proper look at the players targeted for the summer transfer window.  The Celtic management team will have looked at dozens of players on video since the January window closed, but, this break from domestic football, gives them the chance to do the Grand Tour, their last opportunity before the end of the season.

Having despatched his nearest two rivals away from home, with 10 men, in recent weeks, Brendan Rodgers took enormous pressure off the remainder of the season, which now largely consists of preparing for next month’s Scottish Cup semi-final.  Energies will have made a significant switch towards preparing for July’s Champions League qualifiers.

Getting these decisions right can be the difference between success and failure; Brendan will have used his ‘time off’ wisely.

Yes. My mate Gerry Crawley, another Knightswood and Saint Tams FP was at Dumbarton when we signed Sinky. He was in shock. Gerry thought Sinky was the worst player in that Dumbarton team.

  13. Never mind left backs, whit about right?

Paul Telfer – am I right in saying he didn’t really follow/like football?

We did have some class there over the years. Daniel Fergus, Jim Craig and for pure speed Didier Agathe.

Didier didn’t arrive a Celtic fan, but like others before him, left as one.

“I can’t explain the feeling I had, playing for Celtic. I was like a child, I felt like I was dreaming….I always knew how lucky I was to be there.”

Oh , and he only cost £50,000 fae Hibs.

  18. Garry, I didn’t know you liked Danny! Lol

    Glad you’re back mate.

Remember going to a certain European game where you got me a ticket as I was stuck?

You had your 2 Polish pals ( how they doin by the way) with you and after the game as we headed for train we met the priest you knew.

He had some students from Barcelona with him and he had taken them to see the Celtic.

That struck a chord with me and still does. It resonates. Keep the faith and spread the faith.

    Twas a Celtic night.

  19. Bada, thanks. Thought it was golf, wasn’t sure.

  22. I’ve had this crappy bug since I got back from Brunei. I know it’s not man flu as I am too tough to be floored by that ? It is either Malearia or Hebola, but it won’t stop me from going to the game on Saturday or Coias beforehand. It also might be Novichok so I might have to attend in my Gimp suit in case ole Vlad Putin gets the blame.

  23. If expulsion of Russian diplomats is ok because of the SUSPECTED involvement of Russia in two attempted murders, what then the appropriate response to the ACTUAL Britain’s involvement in the ACTUAL murders of 33 People in Dublin and Monaghan bombings in May 1974?
