Celtic cruise past relegation battlers

757

Celtic didn’t need to get out of second gear to overcome Dunfermline yesterday, making it one of the most comfortable performances of the season.  After the festive season games against Rangers in the previous two seasons we played the team bottom of the league, Falkirk and Hamilton, both of whom were subsequently relegated, but we dropped points on each occasion.  Teams fighting for SPL survival are filled with players fighting for money to pay their mortgages, no result can be assured.

Dunfermline are everyone’s hot tip for relegation but they are still missing several players and having watched Hibs capitulation against Hearts yesterday I reckon nothing is clear cut yet.  Hibs are in trouble.

  2. Talking to a Hun last night who attends the sponsor areas at Ibrox.

They are seriously looking at getting Novo back and O’Connor in. Jelavic will go as he want away to the EPL, problem is they they need more money from hi sale than they’ll get. Rapid have a sell on clause.

The Huns will try to get players on loan which is interesting a couple of SPL clubs who would like to see the number of loan signings in reduced.

Apparently the recent Hun form has helped cashflow as not many win bonuses paid out.

The bloke I was talking to has real doubts about them lasting till mid Feb, he’s normally reliable as he told me the Jelavic deal was going ahead when it looked off.

  5. I havnt followed this one closely, but what exactly has happened with the Huns and STV ?

and how is it commercially attractive ?

The 3 minute exclusive slot about them on the STV news today was so pro Rangers it could have been produced at murray park, well before the Garden Wall came doon (copyright Paddy G, that was a cracker).

SPL clubs can only have at any one time 4 players on loan and a maximum of 5 throughout the season. Rangers currently only have Kyle Bartley on loan, so if they send him back to Arsenal, they could get another 4 on loan, if he stays, they can only get another 3 players on loan.

I know the poundland team are struggling and that football is a funny old game but I cant see them in any danger of loseing to Arbroath.I think its wishfull thinking on our part it would be imo if it happened as big as there loss to Berwick Rangers all those years ago.H.H.

BBC Lunchtime Rangers News, complete piece on Rangers with all the goals from yesterday, and the call for the return of Novo, previous goals from Lafferty, and close ups of Ally in his Walter cardigan.

    How does this work?

    ————————————

And nothing at all about the rest of the SPL. Why does the BBC deem the plight of the scum to be the only interest/concern in Scottish football.

as regards the HunSTV tie up with themselves it may be an idea for those of us with the Twatter to bombard Raman & Co about issues that seemed to have escaped their attention and reportage skills.

As a starter howsabout asking Raman & Co about PMacG’s claims about the frozen HMRC cash?

Happy New Year to Paul and all on CQN.

I’d like to point out that having played 22 games (each team home and away) , we are now at the only point in the whole season where we will have played identical fixtures to the Tax Dodgers in the SPL. As we all know , the absurdity that is the “split” dictates that teams vying for the title , or euro qualification , or relegation for that matter, don’t play identical fixture lists to their main rivals.

At this point, we have momentum and the bookies have us at 1/3 or thereabouts to win the league.

Our young squad is looking strong and growing in confidence by the game , although it is highly unlikely that they can keep their SPL succesive wins sequence going forever, and it’s how they react when the sequence ends that will likely determine if they win the title. When the sequence comes to a halt with a draw or even a defeat , if they can then jump straight back into a winning run of 6 or 7 games I believe that would be enough.

Personally , I’ve a feeling we’ll have the league won by the time the split comes around , with perhaps the first game post split being the party. If this isn’t the case and it’s tight look for the SPL computer to give us a 3rd trip to Tynecastle and maybe even a 3rd trip to Ibrox , to help them out with paying some bills……

  17. The Frozen HMRC cash is a red herring. The Bain frozen cash is a blue herring and the McIntrye frozen cash I now believe to be liquid.

The wee tax bill was always known about and always accepted. It has now been paid (seemingly). IT CHANGES NOTHING.

The huns biggest problem just now apart from being crap at fitba is the big tax bill and the lack pf PAYE and NIC these last two months.

The huns have just robbed peter to pay peter … their should be a lawwell against that ;-)

As soon as the taxman or judiciary freezes money in your bank account. IT IS GONE !!!!
