CELTIC defender Adam Montgomery is heading for his FOURTH loan deal in three years.

The 21-year-old left-back was recalled early from an original season-long temporary switch at English third-tier Fleetwood Town at the weekend, as CQN reported.

Montgomery has already had spells at Aberdeen and St Johnstone in his efforts to gain much-needed game-time.

Brendan Rodgers, who is looking to offload £3.75million Argentinian flop Alexandro Bernabei in this transfer window, is now prepared to allow the youngster to move to Motherwell until the end of the campaign, according to the Daily Record.

Montgomery was taken across the border by Hoops legend Scott Brown in the summer, but the iconic captain was sacked by the League One outfit early in September. He was replaced by ex-Hibs gaffer Lee Johnston, but his stay was cut short when he was axed last month.

Former Scotland international midfielder Charlie Adam is now in the Fleetwood hot seat and, in the midst of the off-the-field turmoil, the Celt made only six appearances.

Montgomery is now heading for Fir Park where Stuart Kettlewell is seeking another left-sided defender after Huddersfield recalled Brodie Spencer from his loan contract.

The Scotland Under-21 full-back will become the second Hoops player to leave on a temporary basis over the last few days with South Korean midfielder Kwon Hyeon-kyu agreeing a move to St Mirren.
