Celtic player luxury not afforded to Maribor

678

While Ronny Deila rested 10 players ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League play-off decider, Maribor changed only four players for their 3-0 win over Zavrc, who were three points ahead of them on the Slovenian league.  Wednesday’s goalscorer, Bohar, was replaced midway through the second half, while Tavares came on for the last 10 minutes.

Whatever regrets Ronny has over yesterday’s defeat he’ll get over it when he sees a dressing-room full of players who have rested and trained appropriately all week.

  9. Re: Kris Commons

For those of us old enough to remember Big Jock wanted wee Bertie Auld to play a certain role. Bertie was fairly slow, left footed, great at holding up play, and good delivery. The Celtic team had fast wingers (no names needed), strong midfield, defensive giants, and speedy overlapping full backs. Kris has a place in our team today, albeit non striking role.

Seems to me like our new management team are trying to create a “new” Celtic who were just like one of our previous teams.

SPFL was dreadful to watch last year…..I think this season will be more fun. As for Europe, Jock did fine in season one….should have knocked out Liverpool in the Cup Winners semi…dodgy refereeing. MON first Europe campaigns were poor, as with WGS. So let’s give our new management team some time.

Best regards to all Tims world wide

3min 30 secs in and TFOD have scored their first and are celebrating in the Celtic half. One of our players (off camera) blooters the ball into them all. We score a minute later.

  14. At the risk of over playing things… I have linked an article on ALS from the daughter of a man who died from it. She is a 33 year old journalist now and was 3 when her Dad died. Her Dad was 36 when he died and she was 3, which is the same age my son will be in October, and he too has a 3 year old daughter called Louise.

    Ronny says……….

“The second leg is going to be a tough game. It could be they are more dangerous away than at home because they will play in the same way. We have to play with the right balance and attack them the right way.

“But of course we have the advantage of playing at Celtic Park and that’s what we are going to use to get through to the group stage. I have a good feeling we can reach it.”
