Celtic will almost certainly face HJK Helsinki in the third qualifying round of the Champions League. The Fins are 7-0 after the first leg of their second qualifying round against KR Reykjavik.
HJK were the first team to beat Martin O’Neill’s Celtic as they overcame a first leg deficit in the 2000 Uefa Cup to force the tie into extra time. Chris Sutton scored late to prevent the tie going to penalty kicks. HJK are also top of their domestic league after 17 games, so will be a well-oiled machine by the time the arrive at Celtic Park on 31 July or 1 August.

My reading of the SEVCO/SFA deal is a transfer ban covering 2 transfer windows from 1/9/2012. They have 5/6 weeks to sign any raggle taggle unemployed footballers, then they will be stuck with this lot until Christmas 2014. They will be stuck for a fine of 160k have to pay off OLDCO’S football debts and will have to carry the can for any further punishment relating to OLDCO’S past. This to me means being stripped of tainted Titles.If its 6 SPL Titles that will be down to 48 counting finished and if they are awarded to us, we will be 49 and counting. Correct me if my Maths is wrong.

In regards to Sevco accepting embargo and fines handed out, we should not be debating when the embargo begins and ends. However, we should be addressing the issue of footballing history.
We here all accept that dead club is exactly that, dead. However, with Sevco accepting punishment for the dead club; transfer embargo, fines…they will maintain that by transferring the licence and accepting the punishments that this is a tacit acknowledgement that dead club’s footballing history continues. Although the business entity that ran from 1872-2012 is dead.
Now that is what I would call a sting. I believe that Green will main the footballing history will continue.
The question that we should be asking the SFA is, does Sevco get to continue dead club’s footballing history? If yes, supplementary is why?
Perhaps O.G. Rafferty could get AT to ask the question?

Excellent! Recently moved to Belgium so not season book holders this year, but ticket office wouldn’t allow us tickets in the Celtic end! There was only one other stand available (which the kind Dutch lady told me was to next to the Celtic end anyway – she spoke better English than the Glaswegian at the Celtic ticket office! :o)) so I assume that the game is part of the Ajax season book.
Anyway hope to see you there, if you spot us it’ll be a family of four, daughter, mother, father and son which is me, approx 6’2 and wearing a Celtic top ;)

BIG MIKE I Know what you are saying.its just that celtic promise so much at times regarding bringing in new players .something a lot of fans want to happen, but this board time and time again they let myself and other fans down.in my eyes they just dont do enough for celtic football club .listen i couldnt give 2 hoots about rangers ,i have followed celtic since i was about 9 yrs old being brought up in bridgeton , next year i will be 70 . so bhoys cut me a bit of slack.

What sevco have ‘acquired’ is an sfa membership. That does not mean they are the same ‘club’.
There are 1500 memberships in the golf club. Billy Smith dies but asks that I inherit his membership in his will. This is agreed. Am I Billy Smith? Is it still membership number 1690? Does it have a new name in the membership list?
What is transferring is A membership not THE RFC membership.
Problem is Green et al need to convince us all they are ra gers cause he wants the season book money. It is largely up to ra bers now to decide whether to pay for this illusion or no.
