  1. Afternoon Timland from a wet hun free mountain valley.

Bad day at the office, too many didn’t turn up.

Crit from me….Mathews didn’t look fit, and middy outnumbered, but am no a manager so.

The sheepies worked their socks off, deserved their win.

Well we got what we deserved. Why didn’t NL play the kids instead of these overpaid pretenders?

Also, this defeat wouldn’t have happened if we’d signed Johnny Russell or had Murdo and Wim in charge. Sack the bored!

And what use is a healthy balance sheet if you can’t beat the likes of Aberdeen? PL needs to get a grip, spend some money and allow the GB back as well. Boycott the games till he does.

    Brilliant. Especially your moniker.

A powder puff lightweight midfield against a hungry hungry team playing well and desperate for success, crazy stuff Neil.

since league title, cl group qualification & a domestic cup is mimimum requirement, then i agree with you

Super Sutton. We win as a team we lose as a team today we were out fought by a team who wanted it more than we did. The question that needs to be answered is why Aberdeen appeared hungrier than us ? Also why when everyman and his dog could see our midfield was being over run Lennie did not bring on Biton ? Also why does Lennie have such a poor cup record ? H.H.

  6. After a little time for reflection and a long walk from Parkhead I have to be perfectly honest, that, despite my annoyance at our set-up, starting line-up, mathews unfit, and general attitude, Aberdeen clearly deserved the win te match. I don’t expect it to be my devine to go to a game and see Celtic win, although this always my preference! Aberdeen fans were awful today, just awful, but, their team hunted in packs, pressed high up the park and had better desire about them. They had clearly watched us and perhaps that’s why Neil changed it today. It didn’t work, clearly but you the best all the time. People including our manager make mistakes, he doesn’t make that many in my opinion. No point getting angry, that’s for the h*ns. Cup games have always caused upsets. I’m dissappointed but it is not the end of the world.

cant recall offering any excuses for the defeat, said we got beat and hats off to Aberdeen

I then went on to talk about the need for big town/ city clubs to challenge and to win thing etc… to stimulate more interest in their clubs and Scottish football in general.

Aberdeen, for example, have won nothing in 20 years, is it any wonder they have went from 18,000 supporters to 10000 supporters over that time?

if they could win things and challenge would they see bigger crowd? more income? more scope for investment? would that make then stronger? more competitive?

imho Aberdeen, hibs, hearts and Dundee united have the potential to help transform Scottish football from being a shite footballing environment to something far better if they could get their act together p.s. as well as some structural changes i.e. the league needs to be larger too allow for bigger gap in quality between the bigger city/ town clubs from the rural smaller clubs

Scottish football has been on its knees for decades, but don’t worry just wait for servo to arrive and all will be well, oh dear, that is silly thinking

still pissed of at getting beat

2 wingers always brings failure. Neil has a bad habit resorting to this formation in big games instead of bolstering the midfield. He doesn’t seem to be learning from previous mistakes.

  11. Baled, Murphy, pukka, bangura and for me Griffiths that’s 10million on strikers and not one of them worthy of Glasgow Celtic. That’s a helluva lot of money for a club our size. NFL has made a couple of wonderful signings that have performed well and been sold on for very healthy profit and yes we punched above our weight in the CL last season but what else has he achieved the league is a gimme and the domestic cup record is shameful.

  12. Ah well just home, disappointed. ….. but alas, still a Tim. The better team won, we go on.

    Ayrshire is Green and White

    Hail Hail…..Always.

  13. Afternoon,

More disappointed in the manner of the defeat rather than the defeat itself.

A distinct lack of fight, I find that hard to accept. Aberdeen deserved their victory as each player had more desire than ours, at least that’s how it appeared to me.

On Lenny, very easy to shout for his head after a poor result.

I never renewed my season ticket this year as I simply don’t enjoy the football on display, however it’s a results driven business and Lenny has a strong argument that he delivers, cup games do need to be improved though.

Lenny is to negative for my liking, only my opinion.

    HailHail

  14. Badabing…..

    Totally agree.

    Season is an abject failure.

Fail Fail…..The Celts were here……What the hell do we care….What the hell do we care.

    Cracking balance sheet though!!

  15. iPaddy McCourt Supports Wee Oscar on

A very disappointing cup exit but let’s give Aberdeen some credit – they had a shape and a game plan that they stuck to and showed real belief and desire. They also played some good football and I sincerely hope they are re-emerging as a genuine force. God knows we need the competition.

Balde and Griffiths as a front two for a run of games and see how they get on. Saw enough from Griffiths today to have real optimism that he’ll be a very good player for us. It’s over for Samaras I’m afraid

  16. Happy clappers rule ok …….braw …The rugby is brilliant though ….Ireland playing superb, hard ,clever Rugby .

Hope the Scots can equal their efforts, this will be the last time we play them as the most important part of their sad sad country …hahahahahaha braw

Super Sutton. We win as a team we lose as a team

    —–

    I thought that’s what I said.

“No, it was just an off day for many. Certainly not any single players fault, but collectively culpable.”

  18. Joe Filippis Haircut on

Kojo. You are correct Sammi very often slows our attacks down either by lingering on the ball or running into blind alleys and loseing it like you I think Sammi should be left out of the team.Another thing I know Lennie is a strong individual and look at the terrible treatment he has stood up to.However, that strength stubbornness whatever you call it can lead him not to listen and keep repeating his mistakes as we seem to witness. H.H.

  19. Why, why, why 2 midfielders,it doesn’t work, Paul67 stated this about 2 years ago and still Neil perseveres with it, why?

  20. eddieinkirkmichael on

Missed most of the game due to work but from what I did see Aberdeen appeared to be more up for the game than us. I think some of the comments re Lennon are a bit OTT but to be honest I think we now have a right to start questioning his team selections.

I’ll be interested in seeing his next team selection as that will tell us if he really has the teams developement as his main priority or whether his vanity in going a season unbeaton is now his goal.

Thanks to all those who left messages re my post last night.

  21. Very bad day at the office for Celtic who never appeared to be ‘up for it’. Aberdeen certainly were! Once again, the manager choose to select a player who had not played or some time and his lack of match practice showed (Mathews). Sammi was pathetic and slowed the game down as soon as the ball came to him. Stokes was once again a shadow the player who was fighting for a contract at the start of the season. However, there was one magical connection between Sammi and Stokes which resulted in our goal. I thought James Forrest played well and was a potent threat. I liked teh workrate of Johansen.

Neil Lennon should carry some of the blame for today. His team was not up for it, the initial sleection was questionable and the substitutions very strange. Why bring on Balde when Pukki would have posed questions of the Aberdeen central defence who are not the quickest? Why play Boerigter at all, who has not done anything of note since his cameo appearance on his debut.

  22. Joe Filippis Haircut on

SuperSutton. Fella it was an off day but in cup competitions we seem to have to many off days in my opinion. H.H.

  23. Selling players while the crowds dwindle… I don’t blame Lenny. PL needs to make a strategic decision. That means long term good not short termism . We could end up with. £50m in the bank and. 50 ,000 empty seats.

Overall Im happy with things but I think the rest of the season will give the Board something to mull over..

  24. We lost a game. Get over it and move on. We have no devine right to win. We wanted competition, well we got it.

We are all dissapointed, but should not be dissapointed enough to join in with the shameful over the top criticism of NFL. Cast your minds back a week today.

No manager is ( Or should be ) exempt from criticism but put things in perspective.

If we are all so morally outraged why was there no top tier open? We could not even fill the remaining sections. Why ??

If we cannot be bothered to fill a half closed stadium, then obviously it cannot mean that much. Can it ????

    HH, Always in Celtic.

  25. CultsBhoy

PL is but an employee who does what he is paid to do. If/when he is replaced is he likely to be replaced by someone who will please his critics?

    No need to answer.

  26. “To beat Glasgow Celtic, ye’d have to deport

The Bold Fenian Irish, their loyal support”

So the Coronation Cup Song says in the last line sung by some.

Well in modern Scottish football, to beat Celtic you have to have the following happen:

All your players to play well – no passengers.

Hope that at least 6 Celtic players have serious off days

There wasn’t a Dons failure, while we had 7 or 8. Crucially they won the midfield battle.

We have no devine right to win every game or every trophy.

    It wasn’t our day.

It wasn’t our day either in’71 against Thistle at Hampden. These types of games hit you sometimes and it’s best to try and take them on the chin.

We went on to win 9 IN A ROW after that and we’ll win at least that again.

Celtic….alive alive o and still going strong after 126 years.

    That’ll do me.

  27. Margaret McGill on

Well must have been Lenny’s fault today. No way would our illustrious custodians throw away an OLD FIRM cash cow proposition this season.
