  3. Hot Smoked – I accept your reprimand, swearing was not necessary. My point stands nonetheless, substituting the sweary word with “goodness”. Apologies if I offended anyone with my use of agricultural language.

Starrry Plough – That was not my first post, far from it. I have been posting here and elsewhere under the same moniker for years. I am telling you, in my opinion, it is time to give the RA chants a miss. Disagree if you will.

“You will go far?” – what exactly do you mean by that?

Gerryfaethebrig – We all love the Celtic. What has that got to do with the IRA?

The Lurkin Tim – Celtics roots have got absolutely naff all to do with the song you referred to in your reply. Read up on the subject.

Jimmy Not Paul – I have been in my usual seat in the south stand all season. Where I have been for many years.

I stand by my comment. The time for singing the praises of the IRA has passed. They are not and never have been part of Celtics traditions.

I was reflecting at the game today what my favourite game of this season has been.

I decided that beating Motherwell 4-3 at Fir Park was my own personal favourite in the league campaign.

2-0 down at half time, not playing well, the omens didn’t look good.

Winning that game made me believe we could be invincible, as it proved to be.

My celebration when Tom Rogic scored the winner had to be seen to be believed, FFS a goal against Motherwell!

  5. My only lowlight from the match today.

    The treatment of Neil McCann.

Five minutes to go he appeared at the Celtic end tunnel with Collins and Tanner.

He was then abused, ridiculed. Disrespected.

    My lowlight.

Not enough joined in with me.

  7. Congratulations to our multi-record breaking Bhoys on their fantastic achievements this season (so far!)…

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39993056

Now, I dunno if anyone else picked up on this, but, were it not for three people, Celtic would not only have beaten a host of Scottish records and a European record, but they would now also have a world record to their name.

Had Don Robertson been half competent or Liam Boyce had an ounce of integrity in his body, then the top of the league table would look like this:…

    Invincibles. P38 W35 D3 L0 GF106 GA24 Pts108

    Aberdeen.. P38 W24 D4 L10 GF74 GA35 Pts76

…and Celtic would have broken the world record for the biggest ever winning margin in a top class league.

Boyce could quite easily have made a Paolo Di Canio like gesture and tamely passed the penalty kick to Craig Gordon, rather than hammering it past him to deny Celtic a deserved win and a world record.

Then again, had Celtic’s own Ryan Christie not scored for Aberdeen against Sevco at Pittodrie last week, Celtic would have still broken that world record and set a margin that might never be beaten.

On the plus side, at least it gives Brendan Rodgers a target to set his players for next season.

I’ve read some bullshit on here, but this takes the biscuit….

I stand by my comment. The time for singing the praises of the IRA has passed. They are not and never have been part of Celtics traditions.

I must have imagined my times in the Jungle….were we all paying lip service to a cause we didn’t believe in…..you are not a believer…& never were….but if you think the Good Friday agreement was the end of the struggle….you need to check your understanding of history

Bigchipsuk, you’re forgetting if Bobby mafhun wasn’t such a mad hun, we would have had a penalty in the last minute to win against 9 man sevco.

  10. Home safe. A great day in Paradise. And I still have my piece of the magnificent Tifo:-)

  11. thebhoyfromoz on

    Almore,

I kept mine too. My son still has his piece from the Barca Tito and he wants to get it signed by Tony Watt!

  12. thebhoyfromoz on

    Bigchipsuk

Fair point but against 9 man sevco we wouldn’t be relying on a 90th minute penalty to win the game.

That’s the beauty of football though, if it wasn’t for honest mistakes, Tony Mowbery might still be our manager!

Jeez, decided the sun was over the yardarm at 11.30am this morning and poured mysel’ a nice ice cold glass of alcoholic ginger beer (top tip, Lidl sell one called “Church’s”. Just as good as Crabbies, but half the price, nice green label too).

Been drinking Stella’s after that all day. However I cannae get p***ed. All that alcohol cannae cut through my natural Celtic high. What a buzz. What a day. What a club we are.

Reading my own post back I was drawn to “Natural Celtic High”.

I would definitely like to see Paddy signed permanently, but you know what? I’m not gonna lose any sleep over it if he doesn’t sign.

We have Scott Sinclair on one side, and Jamsie has just had his best ever season with us. In fact he was keeping Paddy out of the starting lineup until a few weeks ago. As well as playing well he appears to be more robust this season (fitness? Attitude? Dunno)

Add to that the progress of Mikey Johnstone and we are not exactly lacking in the wide areas.

Also we have apparently offered Citeh over £6m for him. So if he doesn’t sign, then the cat’s out of the bag as far as PL is concerned re. available transfer cash. £6m would go a long way in any league outside the big four.

Anyway, cup final next weekend. The other stuff can wait.

Let’s just enjoy our NCH :)

  18. TheLurkinTim on

    Hunderbirds,

Paddy would b an amazing asset….but we have financial limitations (jeebus I sound like Lawwell)… if Brendan wants him and it’s do-able within reason, and he want’s to stay, and City want to sell to us, then aye….this management lark is a minefield ;-))

Paddy for £6.8 million, with 25% sell on.

    An absolute no brainer.

He’s been here for a year and a half, and he is the real deal.

The thing is, if that is true, then the leviathan that lives next door, will be able to offer more.

Can you imagine how much the English wealth annoys the Italian teams?

  20. Hunderbirds are Gone on

    LURKING

Agree. As I say it would be great if Paddy signs. He knows us, he gets us, he makes us play well. Four year deal would be great. See it through if we start making inroads in Europe, or stay two years and we get the bucks (always assuming these funds are spent on playing staff)

I just don’t think its the disaster, that as sure as death some will call it, if we don’t land him.

  21. TheLurkinTim on

    Ha,

solution is simple….offer 6mill with addons….if rejected….we can all blame Paddy….or his advisors….or his family….or Celtic for not offering enuff…Scottish sports media reporting is a dawdle ;-))

Praising Kris Commons, as he was welcomed on at the end of the match, for his contribution and his goals “when Rangers were around”.

Boom! Maybe that’s why they curtailed the post-match coverage.

  26. The gap will be getting bigger next season.

Before even twisting Peter’s arm to praise open the biscuit tin, Brendan has a few loanees to come back into contention.

Ajer, previously shoring up the Killie defence.

Christie, finishing his assignment at Aberdeen.

Add in Nesbitt, Morton, O’Connel, Oldham, Thomson at Dumbarton we have an abundance of players who can push their way into the squad given their recent experience.

To pile on the pressure, Peter will definitely make funds available to strengthen the current side for the Champions League assault.

Meanwhile our nearest challenger will probably lose some players, maybe even to the third placed team.
