Good morning my friends from a dry, calm, reasonably bright and completely joyous East Kilbride. Most definitely it is a brilliant white shirt with green tie day! And only 5 more sleeps ;-)
Oh what a beautiful morning.
Good morning CQN from from a dry, bright and sunny East Devon.
To the flare Bhoys, you were totally out of order and selfish, for Gods sake what were you thinking?
Ianbhoy929 – it’s called theatre and added to the occasion.
A fantastic tribute to the Lions.
Anyone else wake up with all their Celtic gear on?
*** GOALS FOR SHAY 2 – THE FINAL RESULTS!!!!! ***
The final results for the 2 competitions are shown below. HOWEVER, when I’ve issued the results each week I’ve almost always had a couple of folk disputing their score and more often than not they have been correct! Therefore, these results are not yet verified so, winners, don’t go spending the cash quite yet! CRC will be in touch over the next couple of days to arrange payment of the prizes.
For the main competition it’s a huge congratulations to Angel Gabriel. 6 points behind going into the final round, playing a joker on 5-goals Chelsea just sneaked him into first place. Nearly pipped at the post by The Young Fella who had a joker on 7-goal Tottenham!
As for the ‘last 3 rounds’ competition it gives me great pleasure in announcing that the runner up from GFS1, Mike In Toronto, managed to secure 1st place here by choosing 7-goal Spurs.
Well done to all! Both sets of results are below.

It’s good to be a Tim,especially the morning after clinching an invincible League title.
Even better when you have a week off work!
Grateful thanks and congratulations to everyone who has made this season one to remember. And to The Green Brigade for a display every bit as stunning as some we have seen on the pitch.

Good Morning CQN
3 days to go.
Todays Weather for Lisbon is Mainly Cloudy. Right now, it is quite overcast, and the temperature is an appropriate ’67, but is due to rise to a a high of 80. No rain is forecast today.
:-)
I really enjoyed yesterday.
I would commend the Green Brigade songbook direction.
In recent weeks the wall-to-wall rebs has been reduced and there have been many more songs about the players, the team and the club interspersed.
I don’t want anyone to give up the rebs or feel ashamed of them but I do think we are, primarily, a football club albeit one that represents a people and a movement. We are no longer in the late 20th century so we can well afford to scale down the rebs but we should never drop or be ashamed of the vast majority of our repertoire.
In fact, scrap all of the above.
Today is too fine a day to even waste on the matter.
Just enjoy that invincible feeling while the denizens of Ibrox enjoy a “mince and bull” feeling.
Off to work with a spring in my step.

Good luck to our Celtic Cycling legends climbing 5000 ft today in the heat of Portugal their way to Lisbon.
Hail Hail Bhoys..
Full stadium singing ‘You’ll Never a Walk Alone’. An embarrassment! What has this song got to do with Celtic? There isn’t one reference to Celtic in the lyrics. What is that about???
Rediculous!!!

BMCUW,
Yes, even though it’s overcast, it’s still quite ‘muggy’ but it does cool down considerably in the evenings.
Plenty shade in the avenues, though, and the side streets also provide some relief from strong sunshine, and if there’s a breeze, it shouldn’t feel like 80.
Everything seems to be done in a relaxed manner ( except for driving…..in the taxi, it felt like we were back in Dubai at times…..mad driving ) so it shouldn’t be too taxing if you’re sightseeing. And there is no shortage of small restaurants and cafe’s at which to stop and top up fluids.
Just read back and thought it was a great blog yesterday apart from our own “Treble” of roasters:

I think you’ll find that the music for “You’ll Never Walk Alone” was written by a certain Richard Rodgers – long lost relative of our dear leader, Brendan.
That is why we sing it.
And all those years we sang it before Brendan became manager were just a prophecy.
Thems the facts…
BlantyreTim – the Michael Collins is decent – it’s at the back of the Sagrada Familia cathedral.
Oops – part 2
So why in the midst of celebrations of such a magnificent (an possibly unsurpassable) season on the domestic front do these 3 come on to moan and complain?
Don’t we have an equivalent of Hun Media or Swallow Swallow for these guys?
KTF
SETTING FREE THE BEARS FOR RES. 12 & OSCAR KNOX
I took exception to the songbook complainers yesterday and wether or not I agree with the songbook is a discussion for another day and one we have on here regularly but for me as a Tim who can no longer attend Celtic games to see people come on straight after the final whistle of what has been a magnificent league campaign seemed at the least churlish and at the worst mischief making.
We all have or likes and dislikes about our club but surely in the name of the wee man folk can enjoy the victory before reverting to this is the bug up my arse about Celtic mode??
The point I made was missed by said poster but for me who’s main contact to the club now is this blog I found it really sad that in the midst of such a great achievement we had guys posting about the song book and trying to push the celebrations in a different direction!
An unbeaten season, what a thing for us all to see, I doubt we’ll ever see it again until next season of course:))

Thank you for that information.
Makes me feel better about the support singing such unrelated songs at a time when celebrating a victory of the like we have not witnessed. I’d love to celebrate more but my mind is stuck in moaning about something at such a historic time.
MWD
Anyway, what a fantastic weekend – though, very, very busy.
The Lisbon Lions Mass was excellent with the opportunity to see some of or greats mingling with the support in the Church afterwards getting pictures with the Big Cup and the magnificent Peter Howson portrait of Br Walfrid. (They also signed some Celtic merchandise that will be raffled for St Mary’s – including a CQN “Jock Stein” t-shirt). I even got to meet Blantyre Tim very briefly!
Straight after the Lions Mass there was a wedding of 2 very good friends (which was 30 minutes delayed because there were so many Tims still taking photies). That was a good second part of the day.
Then to the main event yesterday; had hoped to meet up with ACGR, Hot Smoked and Almore for breakfast but Grandparent duties scuppered that. The Tifo at the start was astonishing and a joy to behold. The singing in the North Curve was awesome as usual – and I really enjoyed that naughty Pyro display. The guy with the GB skull mask was a wee touch of class!
An invincible league season completed and a wonderful lap of honour. For me, KT didnae quite steal the show – Scott Sinclair’s wee ghirl did. She looked about 18 inches tall but was dancing away in front of the North Curve and every time Scott or his missus picked her up she went mental till she got put down again.
One more game till the invincible domestic season and treble. Roll on Saturday!
Great days to be a Tim!

I think you will also find that if you take certain letters from the lyrics of the song and rearrange them, you will end up with Hail, Hail the Celts are Here. Spooky or what?
JJ
PS The above is not necessarily true………but probably is.
My friends in Celtic,
The only consolation of not being able to attend the game yesterday,is that I have not got a mad sore head. A very small consolution indeed.
I thought the Tifo was outstanding and the Pyro display was spectacular. Yes I know the issues with flares and I should not condone it; Nevertheless it was awesome.
For myself yesterday, our match on TV was a Godsend. I thought the Sky coverage was fine ( although I prefer BT ) and I always think Celtic’s focus and energy should be to make the match day experience as good as practicability possible for those who make the effort to attend. There is always the option of CelticTV for those who want to contribute but cannot physically make games.
For those of you who are lucky enough to be able to get to Lisbon or the Hydro or any other celebration, a big Hail hail to you all. The time and effort some CQN’ers ( BRTH et al ) have spent in making arrangements for Lisbon is absolutely breathtaking.
I have been watching the choice of songs debate over the last few days ( weeks ). Our Celtic songbook is probably the best I have experienced since I started attending Parkhead from the age of four. However I must say I am not comfortable with the increased use of add ons and the signing of certain songs. It is 2017 and Celtic are a modern, dynamic club open and welcoming to all. It is obvious that there are Celtic supporters who are not at ease with joining in with some songs. I would prefer a songbook that every Celtic supporter in the stadium was proud to belt out and totally embrace.
This is not hand wringing, to me it is all about all Celtic supporters being equal. Equal to proudly support and sing all the songs, regardless of background, colour, religion, ethics, race, gender, class or political affilation.
There is a time and place for everything. There are plenty of pubs and clubs where you can happily indulge. Indeed many are only a 15 minutes walk from Paradise in which i frequent myself.
Hail,Hail to the invincibles.
Well done to Brendan and the Bhoys you are now only one win from the treble. One thing I would like to see Brendan change for next season is we find some one other than our striker to take corners in my opinion our strikers should be in the box sniffing out goals not stuck out at the corner flag come on Brendan you know it makes sense lol. H.H.
Moonbeamswd
You are welcome. I remain at your disposal for other spurious facts pertaining to stage musicals and Celtic.
Well yesterday’s NCH may have made me invincible from, and invulnerable to inebriation, in spite of a copious intake over the course of the day, but it sure didnae stop me getting a hangover this morning, bah. :(
Flares, pyro. Still think the authorities are looking for a high profile target, to make a public example of and stamp out what they see as a danger to the public, so although it made a great spectacle, on a spectacular day for our club, what if it means the end of the safe standing experiment? Or worse, what if, just as we may have a manager and team who might not make CL participation seem such a horrible trial, what if a further incident resulted in expulsion from Europe for one or more seasons.
Many people on here, waxed lyrically yesterday about the feeling of kinship and closeness to all of our loved ones who are no longer with us, that days such as yesterday give us all. I nearly died three years ago after a serious brain haemorrhage due to a ruptured cerebral aneurysm. I have another aneurysm in my head. It may go pop at any time and take me with it. I don’t want the actions of a few unthinking people to deprive me of any of this great period in Celtic’s history, the situation at Celtic just now nourishes a wee place in my Psyche where my Grandfather and my daughter make light of the fact that one passed before the other (my eldest daughter is a fanatical Celtic supporter) was born and they happily feel a profound feeling of closeness with me and each other, and other people who have also sadly passed.
If the people enjoying the feeling of rebelliousness that these actions obviously give them, can guarantee that such actions will not harm our club… then fill yer boots.
However…
Sorry for the sermon, but that’s what I feel.
VFR800 IS NOW A MONSTER 821
If suggesting that singing IRA songs is not a good thing makes me a roaster then a roaster I am.
Magnificent spectacle, Invincible Season wonderful day.
Tell me, what has the IRA got to do with Celtic?
Have a good day, off oot as Kev (fellow roaster, according to you would say) travelling to the USA.
By the way you wouldn’t call AlTheTim a roaster to his face :-0)
What a great time to be alive. The icing on the cake with the Scottish Cup next week, sheepies have no chance. My bro took his seven year old to the game yesterday might be the wee mhan’s first game. What a memory, the inVIncibles will stay in my nephews life forever. Watched the game on my iPad wishing I was there. The support led by the GB was awesome, pure brilliant. How exciting is next year going to be. The Manager wants to stay, players want to stay, supporters just can’t get enough. Glasgow is green and white. Big shout for Leigh Griff, you can’t fault his hunger to be a Celt and mini hunskelper. Hail Hail.
