and still they keep coming, we knock them down but they get up again. ryecatcher TSD and Alfie came and went or did they.

You don’t knock me down – you have no counter argument
A person on minimum wage gets £12,500 per year and pays tax and NIC for a 35 hour working week.
The one parent family that I illustrated gets £20k TAX FREE.
How much benefit would you give them – £30k TAX FREE?
What about the millions of low paid workers without whom our society could not function?
Foodbanks are mostly for the feckless and irresponsible.
Do you know that an alcoholic gets at least £20 extra per week disability allowance, over a normal person who is out of work – I’ll give you three guesses what the extra £20 is spent on – and it’s not food.
———————————————-
So what? Foodbanks cost the State nothing.
I earn £80k take home a year. If I want to spend my money on drugs, drink, sex, private education for my kids, 2nd homes in Spain or food for other people, why are you wetting your pants about it? Or are you telling me that you’re the kind of libertarian that likes to tell everyone else how to spend their money?

Your points are well made – and yes in certain cases there is, and always has been, a need for charitable organisations and good deeds.
However these cases should be the exception – we are being ‘force-fed’ the idea that everybody on receiving benefits needs foodbanks to keep them from starving – this is utter rubbish.
A family unit of ONE parent and THREE children should be able to live on £14k per year in cash, having had their rent and council tax paid for them.
£20k per year is a lot for doing nothing – and yet we have football fans coming to matches with bags of food in their hands.
There were tougher times in the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s & 80’s – there were no foodbanks then

Very good championship winning performance tonight.
It is never easy to play against a well organised packed defence, which Killie were.
More so when that, packed 10 men behind the ball, were in an, at best 25 metre area between centre circle and their 18.
MOTM was Broonie. An inspirational captain. Might not be the greatest technical player in the world but what an attitude. He drove us on to victory tonight.
Kris was excellent in the second half once Killie were not quite so vibrant.
Ronny’s subs were great and well timed. LG was magnificent, not only in his goals, but his general teamwork was very good.
The Killie left sided player, Obedeyi is a very good player. Good scouting by them.
Great three points.

True of course that there were tougher times in our parents and grand parents times, expectations were also different. Consumerism is the new fascism however, we live in a deranged society where people feel obliged to spend money they don’t have on items they don’t need. This applies across all sectors of society. Whether it’s a single mother living on benefits who gets a Wonga loan to buy a 50 inch plasma TV or the corporate lawyer not content with his million a year who borrows heavily and invests in property deals around the globe.
Maybe I am wrong but by donating to food banks and helping to alleviate a bit of poverty, either by allowing hungry families to eat or allowing poor families to spend money that they would otherwise spend on food on something else I think overall contributes to making society a little fairer

Lions manager Mark Burchill was upset not to get more than a draw from a game that could have lifted his side off the bottom. He said: “We were disappointed to lose the goal so quickly. If we had got over four or five minutes then I think Rangers would have run out of ideas.”
And he was annoyed that a first-half efort by Hippolyte was chalked off for a foul on Rangers keeper Cammy Bell.
“I think we all know it was a goal, let’s be honest.
That’s why I was so disappointed. But we are five games unbeaten and the boys are giving everything.”
