Glad that’s over ! Now for Astana , Darren Jackson thinks it’ll be exciting having the huns back ! Same old crap being spouted !

  2. liked the look of dembele tonight, his and griff look like they could make a really good partnership

  3. What is the Stars on

    Almore

Well done Celtic: management, team and fans.

Dont forget the groundsman, the kitman, the physio and of course the CHIEF EXECUTIVE

  4. Ajer, Paddy, Dembele …… Excellent young boys who we should all be happy are at the club. A core of superb young Scottish boys too who have staked their claim in front of the supposed bigger names, who I would be more than happy to move on.

    Urgency gone.

So,foot off the gas second half.

    Most probably tactical.

    Avoidance of injuries etc.

    Viz. the subs.

    Running the game down .

    Lot of games coming up.

  6. Well done Celts thanks for the updates. Irish side Dundalk 2 away goals in Iceland in Champions league and missed penalty 3-3 ahead on away goals.

  7. The midfield still isn’t right though, the passing still isn’t good enough neither was the cover for a three man defence

Brien at least came into a game but he was seriously blowing out of his rear after 20 mins

  8. Think Dembele will flourish once he hits the net. Just needed a little more composure tonight.

Patrick is a £10 m player. At least . Forrest had Vg first half.

  9. Maybe its just as well, we didn’t win ten nil as we might start thinking we are world beaters. There was some very good stuff but we missed a dozen clear chances. In all fairness their Keeper did very well and whilst they are part timers they’re no bad part timers.

Main thing is we are in next round, the problems we have are still there and need to be addressed. The more games played the fitter we will get, happy but not ecstatic.

We will stand or fall on future performances not our past ones.

  10. WITS: Don’t go there:-)

    Breandán isteach!

Dundalk 2-2 away to Icelandic team. (3-3). Ten minutes to go. Fingers crossed

  11. We need some guile and savvy in the midfield.

But it won’t come form Joe Allan – Stoke paying £13 million for him.

  13. That was nice.

I watched Fortune play in qualifiers and had my doubts.

I don’t get same feeling with Dembele who might just need the rub of the green.

  14. Hello ther, just joined in tonight. I was confident we would complete the job , and we did.

I have no idea if we will progress against a team I have never heard of, I will leave that to the experts on here.

I took the opportunity to bring forward the weekend tonight as my good lady will be tending to Lanarkshires old and infirm over the weekend. I have a light day tomorrow and she is having a day off. The spectre of two 12 hour weekend shifts bears heavy in the foreground.

One more small glass of Sambuccca for me and then look forward to next week. The Sky sponsored bollocks at the weekend means feck all to me.

  15. Thelurkintim, better speaking to the other lad ………. Think his name is ………. Astanafitbagametravelorganiserbhoy …. Or something like that

    TWISTS N TURNS

    Patrick is a £10 m player.

Naw, naw you’ve got that all wrong……he’ll never get a game at Man C. He’s rubbish…only worth about £50.000.

    (nudge, wink)

  17. Disappointed it ended 3-0 after a great first half… but if you had offered me 3-0 after the final whistle last week I would have snapped your hand off

  18. Joe Filippis Haircut on

I am pleased with the result but we must remember we were playing a poor side Cifti is not going to make it at Celtic Forrest not my cup of tea Dembele trying to hard.I still think the midfield is not right and Izzy offerred little. There is a lot of work required to turn us in to a good European side.H.H.

Early days but they look miles apart in attitude

  20. Corkcelt,

If you find a bunch of part-time fitballers….that are into fitness….you can tune their engines and open their eyes to the possibility of a pro-contract….too many of our players don’t realise how lucky they are…..would you say that…..and I’ve lost my thread……n yea I darn my own socks…..;-))

Dembele being compared to Ciftci by Rob Mclean…….struggling to get his first goal.

Er…..no Rob…..Dembele already looks a much better footballer than Ciftci will ever be….first goal or no first goal.

  22. Well done Dundalk. Managed by Stephen Kenny, ex Dunfirmline manager. Worth €1.2 to them apparently.

  23. just in from game, feel that SB playing in the wrong position its not doing him any good playing square balls, young Dembele I’m still undecided, looks unfit with a poor touch.

Sorry,I have no idea what game you were watching tonight,Scott Brown was excellent tonight.

Patrick Roberts will never have service like that in his life again. The two passes Broony played through in the second half, were magnificent. The ones who did fall out of the game, were Mc Gregor, and to a slightly lesser extent Armstrong.

Seems no matter what Broony does it wont be enough for some of the “Experts”on here/

Tell you what,if we had just bought Broony, and that was his first game for us tonight we would be raving about him.

  25. Dundalk make it to third qualifying round CL. Surprised me with the quality of their possession football. A nice bit of finance into the coffers.

  26. PR @ CMcGs goal…..begs the question….well drilled athetic footballers….or Footballers in formation….;-))

  27. TURKEYBHOY on 20TH JULY 2016 10:07 PM

Agreed, Brown was great tonight without turning into the Edinburgh weedjy staring guy! He will thrive under BR.

McGregor/Armstrong/Forrest/Roberts all faded in the 2nd half. But to be fair its the 20th July and fitness over the 90 mins has yet to be perfected.

Can you imagine how we could play once we are properly fit and drilled to Brendans systems?

  28. Well done Celtic, could have been a cricket score, at this stage in the season I’m more than happy to see us play an entertaining style of football.

If I win the lottery I’ll buy Patrick Roberts myself, reckon it would need to be the Euro lottery though.

As for purchasing the Premier Sports package for a month, it covers the sheep game as well as the Hibs game tomorrow and next weeks games including our game.

  29. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

    TURKEYBHOY

It seem like Brown could be this season’s whipping Bhoy. Grumbles at the game from a few of the lame brains around me tonight.

He was good in the first 15 minutes playing some good passes. Had a poorish period until 2o minutes to go when, as you pointed out, had some wonderful passes. One spoilt unfortunately by Paddy’s heavy touch.

  30. dreally expect Cetic to keep up the pace in the second half?.Just to make you happy with a goal or two more. The game was won.We nearly had Griff crocked. We have a massive journey and a very difficult away game midweek.Try and see a wee bit further than yournose

  31. TURKEYBHOY

I’m not one for criticising Celtic players and I’m enough of a fan of scott brown to hope and believe that he can turn round his poor form from last season.

I’m not claiming to be an expert, it’s just an opinion

  32. Disjointed second half.

Some well worked chances created but finishing poor.

Lots of work still required to make the next step up.

That is the 3rd round of CL qualifying not even the final play-off round.

Team only playing in fits and starts, populated by a number of talented but immature individuals.

The centre of the MF was honking for most of the game, if LRI had got a goal in the second half then all hell would have been let loose.

SB tried some challenging passes that did come off.

However the rest of his game was poor and I fear he is not up to the job.

LG is possibly the most stupid regular I have ever seen at CP.

Poor distribution, poor decision making and poor finishing.

Took his goal well but he is worse than useless at times.

Next round will be a challenge.

Hopefully the crowd will move up a gear and another weeks coaching and fitness will help.
