  2. Listen up And Listen Good,ma name is MC Lenny……………………………………

  3. Afternoon all.

Well where do I start. What a week that was, 9-0, 1-4 and best of all, beating OF FC 4-0.

Ange has us playing breath taking football, a delight on the eye. Players appear fitter, more skilful and better coached and much better organised

As I said, what a week. On a more personal level, at the start of the week I had my telephone consultation my cancer doctor, great news, all is well numbers are bang on, that’s me now over 2 years in remission from AML. God bless all the Staff at Ward 16, Monklands Hospital.

On Friday I met up with some of the best people I have ever met, what A day in the Shipbank, you know who you are.

Then yesterday, just WOW, ‘bring on the Spaniards by the score’

Shame about Kyogo, that thug knew what he was doing. Incidentally, when that thug was down inured, approx 15 mins in, just at the end of his treatment he popped something in his mouth and took a drink of water. Probably nothing, however you never know with that mob.

Finally ( thank Fxxx I hear you cry) I hope to have a gathering of Celtic like minded people in Coatbridge on Friday 16th of September, the venue is the Vulcan Bar, just off Coatbridge Main Street.

Those of you who may be familiar with the Vulcan will know that up to recently it was a Witherspoon’s pub however it is now a Free House managed by Paul Hughes, nephew of the Celtic great John (Yogi) Hughes, I have spoke to Paul and he is delighted for us to gather there,

So please if you can, come and make an appearance, you are guaranteed to meet up with some old friends and make new friends as I know personally.

Thanks for hopefully taking the team to read my post, as I said at the start, WHAT A WEEK.

    Brian.

  4. Why was Tillman not booked when Greg Taylor tried to take a quick free kick ?

Tillman then gets a deserved yellow for fouling Jota .. which would have been a red

Walsh cheated us yesterday … both teams 3 yellow cards to somebody who didn’t watch the game looks like both teams were just as bad as each other

Am delighted we won … but the referee reffed both teams differently … and in my opinion that’s a fact

up the celtic ….. where would this be ?

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Needs some of the Befast Bhoys to maybe id it.

  6. BB 14.00pm

Was unaware of all that, great news mate, far more important than the fitba stuff :-)

Count me in for the 16th, MissGFTB was raging last night when I told her there was a “meet” in the Vulcan

She’ll probably hover about Sandros to make sure I make it home

  7. GvB and the Huns in the media seem to be consoling themselves with the game being decided by the Huns switching off at throw ins and set-pieces. Mccoist highlighted the ball bits getting balls to our players quickly fir throw ins during the game.

If that’s their main take-away from it then they’re in trouble. Watching the highlights we played with far more intensity, beat them to every ball, we moved the ball quickly, we beat their press easily and pressed them really well. The fourth goal was a howler from the keeper but it was a result of our excellent press during the second half. Even after it their captain, who should be making very basic decisions based on the situation put their keeper in trouble with a crazy pass

Their set-up stank, their only attacking tactic seemed to be overloading their left flank to make space for Barisic to get crosses in. It looked like it might work but for some reason they abandoned it in the second half. They had no shape at all, they reverted back to an old plan of playing it down the channels but fatty is do overweight and unfit he couldn’t keep himself onsude or did t have enough pace to make decent positions for himself.

I’d be very worried about how easy we found the second half when we’re weren’t looking to move the ball as quickly abd we’re prepared to let them have the ball. They were clueless. They will beat teams who don’t know how they play but over the course of the season even Scottish team will work them out

  8. but fatty is do overweight and unfit he couldn’t keep himself onsude or did t have enough pace to make decent positions for himself.

the bit where he and the wright kid are in our penalty box, but neither of them can get contol of the ball, looked like me in my last days playing 5s.

a fit player gets that ball under control and is sharp enough to shoot or lay it off,

he sums up their team for me,

they think its ban now , this is the start of a disasterous season for them, thier time is coming.

  9. Petec 2.15pm

Are you available for selection on the 16th for Belmont Brian’s day oot ?

train to Coatbridge Sunnyside (lower level Queen Street line) I could meet you at train station, only 10min walk fae the boozer ….

Sadly no pool tables in the pub …

  10. GVB has never got the better of Ange over 90mins

An extra time victory … when Lundstram should have had 5 yellows doesn’t count in my eyes

    Ange has Gio’s number 4 ….. going on 10

  11. SAINT STIVS on 4TH SEPTEMBER 2022 2:20 PM

The ball somehow managed to go between his ample thighs

He looks weeks way from match fitness, if that ever comes again while he’s there. He’ll get laughed at in the champions league.

  12. GFTB

    Looking forward to catching up.

Meant to mention, the Vulcan was also known as the Sportsman’s many years ago, again, owned by another Celtic great, Jim Brogan

  13. Keepers trying to play precise passes to Defenders around edge of box is bloody dangerous, The Huns obviously conceded & Joe was nearly caught as well.

Hun was walking out, another second and he would have been legitimately able to intercept the pass,

Apart from that I thought Joe was great yesterday. That was a brilliant effort by CalMac but Joe was up to it,

CalMac will have to try harder.

    Jota 23, O’Riley 21 & Abada 20. Read it & weep ye DOB’s.

  14. BB 2.34pm

:-) just replied to you on SC

    BB63

When it was the Sportsman’s bar .. just before it became Memory Lane my oldest brother nearly bought it … (a wee syndicate that owned the Barnyard which included our former player Alfie Conn) … I said “nearly” as it meant re-mortgaging his house …. Which my sister in law kybooshed … so it probably wasn’t even a “nearly”

  15. “Run don’t walk” from the blob :-) well if your big Mauritz ,just tap the ball forward and step away from a blue shirt and leave them to their confusion:-))

    HH

  16. Our next few fixtures look more straightforward than theirs do:

    Livingston home

    St Mirren away

    Motherwell home

    St J away

    Hibs home

    Huns have:

    Aberdeen away

    D Utd home

    Hearts away

    St Mirren home

    Motherwell away

In between, they are likely to get a real wake up call regarding their true level in Europe.

    Interesting few weeks ahead.

  17. So I’ve just had a look at the ever growing POTY Inbox and note with some concern that there are 55 (fifty five!) sitting there. Hope it doesn’t stay that way for long – can you please do your bit to move it to 67 by 5pm and to 88 before 10pm please?

I’m sure you know the drill – all are welcome to vote whether posters, lurkers or ‘never voted before’s. One email with the names of your 3 best performers from yesterday’s demolition of Sevco before 10pm tonight to sencelpoty@gmail.com

    Thanks

  18. There were many things imo that were outside of Lenny’s control that contributed to the 2020/21 horror show, but what I found most concerning was how terrible we were how often against a pretty ordinary Sevco during his second spell. He made Gerrard and Beale look like a combo of pep and fergie over and over. We didn’t learn a thing about how to play against what were standard tactics at the time.

I’d feel the same about vanB if I was them. To have been beaten twice in almost identical fashion, even worse this time, within six months with a home defeat an extra time narrow victory and a draw in a must-win game in between would have alarm bells ringing for me.

  19. Belmont Brian

Good luck in all with your treatment Brian 👍

Jim Brogan was an excellent publican and ran a few shops in his time. One I knew was The Victoria Bar at corner of that Rd with Allison St.sadly I think in later life he was afflicted by illness.a good man and always a good pint in there.:-)

    Keep the sounds coming

    Hail Hail

  20. bigrailroadblues on

BelmontBrian, I shall be available if selected on the 16th. I hope you are providing a buffet suitable for the company. I shall probably be the only sensible fellow there as usual. Which isn’t saying much for the rest of the rabble.

  21. Jobo.

Hope I sent mine correctly as I didn’t get the usual automated response,

Think the top r are a shoe in anyway so if I got it wrong it won’t affect the overall score.
