We got beat by a MON type team, who played to their ONE strength and got away with it.
Apart from any other position, we need a proper left back.
Izzie not doing it either end of the park.
Not all over yet, though.

Think that’s the end of M’kolo’s Celtic career. Never coming back from that. He was petrified the whole game. Great game to play a new centre half pairing. Worked really well. Arguably the most humiliating result in our history. Ripped heart out of the team and no adequate replacements. Utter garbage.

Well, looks like it’s over for this year, Shaktar have at least one goal in them at Parkhead.
Pointless blaming coaching or lack of transfers because that team was never going to lose against our lot, i would say we lacked courage all over the pitch today including one trick pony Lenny.
It’s not over yet but it feels like it.

Even if Celtic get through this round and that is still a possibility, what we’ve seen tonight is not acceptable on so many levels
Despite being mediocre at best, Celtic created chances that a proven goalscorer would have put away tonight, and the tie would have been over.
We sell the spine of the team but don’t buy a striker, ffs we could have got Finbogasson for £5 million.
The way things stand maybe it’s for the best if we don’t qualify for the group stages.
I’m still too angry to be rational so please make allowances.

Celtic masterclass in possession passing across and backwards in two thirds of the park, with little penetration in final third. Karagandi masterclass in defending final third, fast and powerful penetration with what little possession they had and what else? – oh yes, scoring goals.
Celtic were ponderous going forward and seemed determined to give the opposition time to organise defensively. How many times did we pass the ball through and past numerous Karagandi players only to turn back, square pass or pass backwards, and allow the opposition players back between ball and goal?
Celtic have forgotten the basic principles, scoring goals wins games. We needed an away goal, Karagandi needed to come to Glasgow without conceding an away goal. Karagandi winners hands down tonight. If Karagandi score an away goal we need to score 4 goals.
We looked like a team without a genuine goal threat, I wonder why?

If you’re criticising the team performance then base it on what you saw and not what the commentators said you saw.
I saw one team that dominated and created many chances. Some of them very good. The other team created nothing but used their long ball, long throw tactic to get one goal and luck another.
The result is bad, the performance is not. IMO.

Well one coach played to his team’s strengths and it paid off. We should have scored a goal somewhere along the line, but missed fairly good chances. Might have been worth Balde and Stokes, with Matthews on, in the last fifteen minutes but not to be. Shaktar are no Juventus but they did counter attack pretty well, especially when we gave the ball away cheap. Need two goals in ninety minutes next week. An early one would work wonders.

People on here are angry because of the corporate strategy that has been well flagged. This didn’t come up today. People spend their hard earned cash on watching the team but can’t empathise with a corporate strategy rather than sporting ambition. Again, the next article will be very interesting. Can we just for once break the party line that the strategy being pursued is a wonderful formula?

good news – that team will not hold out at celtic park. once we score 1 they will cave in . Makes for an exciting night eh?
Tonight , NL needs to shoulder the blame. He complained about the timing of the scotland match and the affect on players yet he persisted with Forrest who i believe has been off form of late and clearly tiring and losing confidence (too much for one so young in terms of responsibility).
Watt impressed with his sharpness against liverpool as did Balde – Balde gives us an out and allows time for a poor midfield to organize themselves.
We can still do it but NL is at fault tonight – all in the learning process and all forgotten when we beat them 4-0 at home

I hope Andrew in Belfast has the server farm on maximum capacity this evening.
We have had worse performances than this with Hooper and Wanyama in the team, but what surprised me was the lack of urgency and desire.
Perhaps the luxury of the super jet and five star hotel has given some of our team the big time Charlie mentality. They looked to have forgotten that desire and work-rate are essential against a team who aspire to your level.
A new central defensive pairing in a vital Champions League qualifier? Even Ian Black wouldn’t have stuck a tenner on that selection.
