    are you forgetting artmedia

    this is still potentially saveable

difficult yes but far from over

I’d be fairly sure that having watched that their 6 milion will be going elsewhere.

reminiscent defending of the Bobo days in Europe .. We had our chances ..

    They took their chances ..

Izzy sloppy mental alertness both goals, he does NOT need to be up field all the time ..

Left Broonie to get back and Broonie could not cut out ball for second..

    Thought we were nervous..

    I still believe..

Agree that you cannot sell the spine of your team and hit the ground running in Europe .

Shaktar beat Bate who are good..

    We needed more

  4. Ok we were poor particularly the defence but also a bit unlucky – it’s the lack of hunger that worries me most though. Next week we need to see drive and purpose. Extra time needed to beat this mob?

Sorry can’t agree with you re. James Forrest. He was by no means the worst. By your reckoning no one else in the team should ever play for us again. JF played a better defensive role in the second half than any of our defenders. He cleared up 3 Shakter attacks. Once using speed to outrun attacker, once putting his head in bravely and on another occasion passing out of trouble. He was probably our best player in my opinion.

Sutton is a winner and was talented ….that costs …we won’t spend what it costs

A Sutton equivalent nowadays would cost £18m, 70 grand a week in wages and wouldn’t come to the SPL anyway.

  7. PF , Yep correct, our now legendary penny pinching could cost us dearly yet again.

If we don’t progress through next week PL can flash our latest accounts up on the big screens at the final whistle and we can all cheer that.

    Very depressing IMHO.

  8. FF — where is the coaching.

    Where is the progress.

    Where is the development?

Looked lost right through the game.

The team looked lost right throughout the game.

No appetite for a painful but winnable game.

You’re probably right even if we do get through, we’re not a CL squad

The Bored knew that, and wouldn’t speculate further.

Look on the positive side……at least it looks like we’ll avoid total humiliation at the hands of the decent teams in the Champions League.

Mind you ,there are some pretty decent teams in the Europa league too………Oh dear!

Think that’s the end of M’kolo’s Celtic career. Never coming back from that. He was petrified the whole game. Great game to play a new centre half pairing.Arguably the most humiliating result in our history.

    Perspective, man!

    Clyde?

    Artmedia?

    Neuchatel?

    ICT in 2000?

Poor result, poor performance, but nowhere near the worst, and one from which we can recover.

  12. KLV

I think we are more than capable of scoring 3 or 4 at CP with the crowd behind us. That was a woeful performance that I very much doubt will be repeated. Boerrigter will take them apart. KTF

Diabolical. How did the 2 centre halves stay on for 90 mins? Terrible

*the same way as Efe and JF played against Juve….poor management

  15. The only positive about tonight’s result is that Lenny might actaully play an attacking team in the return leg (I’m still not sure though).

  16. TBJ Praying for Oscar Knox on

Too many listening to the muppet commentating

It was a poor away performance in europe. .. worst ever !!!!… give us a break

We had more chances but didn’t take them

    We will at celtic park.

Why did they not rehearse long throws. . Should have had Matthews taking them in training. And it took sammi 80 mins to figure he should stand in front of thrower and make him elevate his throws

    Big ff needs dropped

0-1 … we would have taken … 0-2 .. not good but not a disaster.

  17. Yep, that’s the phone calls started from my Swedish mates.

  18. Big Georges Fan Club - Hail, Hail, Wee Oscar on

Jeezo – that was poor. Could see we were 2nd best from 10 minutes into the 2nd half.

Commons miles better than anyone on the park, but the defence looked extremely shaky.

Virgil looked good when not under too much pressure, but lost a couple of important headers from deep throw-ins. He and SM may turn into a partnership, but we don’t have time for them to work on that.

Do appreciate that Neil didn’t want to go gung-ho, but Big George as the centre forward wasn’t working – was clear from about 30 minutes in – why not use one of the two strikers earlier on? Stokes to work with Commons would have been my preference.

    Ah fek-it – I can’t be bothered.

What’s with the high moral ground and the I’m a better supporter than you crap. This is a blog where Celtic supporters can discuss the team honestly. It is not an arm of the eastern block propaganda machine where only those that toe the party line are welcome. I respect your views but could do without the condescension.

Every player that the club sold during the summer wanted away.

    ===

Wanting to go and being allowed to are 2 different things. Big Vic could have been retained for at least 1 more season. Hooper could have been retained until Jan. We may have lost a couple of mill in transfers but at least would have kept out only penalty box predator. As painful as it is to admit we gambled and took the money.

    With the greatest of respect

Ill take your namesake and WGS’ opinion over yours

Carlisle was saying it as it is ….

    ————————-

That’s ok, they know more than me. But I still like to form my own opinion.

  22. Poor, poor defending throughout by all members of the back four. Hesitant and lacking in conviction, as were the rest of the team when in possession.

Forrest and Izzy should both have scored with their chances. Commons unlucky to hit the bar.

A first half goal essential next week and hopefully we can pile some pressure on.

  23. On a positive note we are very good at the ol square pass.

Would imagine many hours are spent perfecting this at Lennoxtown

  24. I think we can do the business at CP.

Karagandy will face all the issues we faced around travel etc.

If we get a goal at a crucial time (e.g.) just before half time, then we can do it.

    On the other hand…..

If we don’t, then I think heads should roll, for gross incompetence – not sure whether it was the Chief Exec, Manager, Director of Football, or all 3 who chose to sell 2 of our best players without replacements lined up, either way it is gross incompetence, and in any other PLC , investors would be looking to replace the Chief Exec.

  25. 4 -0 at Celtic Park …now is the time for the support to get behind this young manager and team……full house with the thunder : GB we need you and yours now more than ever …we can turn this around ….and that will be BRAW!

am off oot for a relaxing meal and a few cool Pilsners ….also braw! so ffs calm doon bhoys@ghirls ….we are Celtic…HH

  26. No Wilson, Wanyama,or Hooper for next week.

But more importantly no Green Brigade to create and sustain the atmosphere .

This is a blunt and porous Celtic side.

Anthony Stokes must play if we are to score 3 goals.

    TT

  27. watching that first goal a few times, fosters

shrug of the shoulders and just accepting he had

lost a goal with no show of annoyance really annoyed me

most keepers would have been screaming at the defence

even if it had been their fault

    no heart

  28. KK @ 18.05

You are having a laugh with that summing up.

We started slowly and got worse.

JL + SB do not make a midfield pairing.

CM was back to his Braga at home worst.

    We were out fought.

    We were out thought.

Not sure there will be a way back.

They have the big mo, the desire and the attitude.

    We look lost.

PL has to take the blame.

  29. Just so disappointing, what’s more disappointing is that anyone who loves Celtic more than money seen it coming.

  30. At least the balance sheet is in good shape, need a bucket going to be sick. I really don’t think these people are any better than the former owner’s of the last centuary
