  1. Not gonna lie. Bum definitely needed unsqueaked after an hour of the game….

Any other nerds spot the timing of Dembele’s goal ?

I know he didn’t get a long run, but I’m wondering what were people’s first impressions of Kouassie

    Use a firestick with kodi.

It used to be great but in the last few months.

My laptop is old so tend to give it a go as a last resort but the ole gal takes about 30 minutes to get herself ready and by there doesnt seem much point!

There’s certainly been issues with the CTV streams, my brother has struggles the last few games. But you should be good for Sky BT games, maybe look for channels that are showing Sky Sports 1 or 5 BT 1 or whatever channel we are on, rather than our actual game (if that makes sense).

Also fire up the old laptop and look at reddit soccerstreams, there’s posts on match day which will give you an idea if there’s decent streams out there

Looking at the bigger picture and next seasons UCL qualifiers and hopefully groups stages, still 4 or 5 players required. A pacey RB, two quality ball playing CBS, a clever European level no 10 and a right winger if Paddy goes.

Very comfortable on the ball, always showing for it, looks to play ball forward and not scared of a tackle. Cemented a St Mirren player whilst winning a 50/50, their players weren’t happy.

He looks like a Bhoy who knows how the game is played, showed a lot for the ball, look comfortable and strong in the tackle.

In short I think if he claims his jersey in the first 11, there will be a few pretendy hard men in the SPL buying adult pampers!

Thanks. I have high expectations for him. Sounds like a good start.

  9. Look. GMS had a poor game. But comments like “brave as a kitten” are inaccurate.

The man took a kick in the face putting his head in where bravery was required.

The pitch , yes the pitch, and his choice of footwear seemed to be contributing factors. Between the bobbling and his slipping he wasn’t able to do what he is good at.

Can get BT Sport as im a virgin customer and it was great at the start of the season as there were a lot of our games on it but lately they all seem to be on Sky and its since then that ive been strugling

Thanks for your help and i will try to look at what you suggest.

  11. The difference today was taking off Bitton and bringing on Griffiths. Not a dig at Bitton, who played reasonably well, but when he went off Brown dropped back into his best position, Armstrong dropped deeper into his best position and the whole tempo of play increased. Griffiths in the ‘Rogic’ role behind Dembele was excellent and we attacked with pace and purpose.

Would love to see Roberts, Griffiths, Sinclair behind Dembele and in front of Brown, Armstrong next week, doubt it’ll happen though.

  12. Gary67

I liked him. He’ll offer much more dynamism than Bitton in that role so alongside Brown and Armstrong we should have perpetual motion in there..

He’ll also rack up ,loads of cards – most unfairly of course.

I’d start him next week if I wasn’t so terrified of the loanee legends Sevco have in there. :)

  13. I like the look of Eboue. Seems to cover the ground quickly, turns nicely, spots and delivers a good pass.

And the way he followed through on a fair tackle shows he has some steel.

  14. GMS will have better days in a Celtic jersey.

He was not the only player to have a poor first half but was lacking in confidence.

As for the critique of Boyata i saw nothing wrong with the exception he was behind team mates to play the goalscorer on.But surely any ball headed across 6 yard box should be attacked by the keeper?

His bringing the ball out slowly was due to lack of movement and unwillingness to show for the ball of those ahead of him.

The coach showed his worth with the subs having impact.

The Griff sub was smart as we had no need for a purely defensive midfielder at that time.

A creative pass like Griffs for Sinclairs goal from the central area was lacking till that point.

  15. GMS won two very good balls in midfield then he seemed to panic when he was in space.. I don’t think it’s a lack of skill more likely a lack of confidence IMHO.

  16. mike in toronto on

Is he first team ready? If so, where does he line up? Having only seen some video of him, he reminded me of wanayama (but maybe a bit more comfortable going forward than VW).

Whenever I type his first name, it autocorrects to Eloisse!

  17. An Teach Solais on

Had one or two qualms in first half -remembering as a kid a 5-1 victory against the Buddies on a Monday night then on the Saturday of the same week greeting at Hampden. However, great substitutions by Brendan and a magnificent second half. Credit to St.Mirren for a gutsy performance.

On another tack does anyone have a link to EBT McCann and Finlay QC singing the “Billy Boys” at a Deidco function? HH

  21. Celtic coming from behind is a rare occasion these days and presented a slightly subdued unusual day in Paradise, at least until normal service was restored in the second period.

St Mirren was a surprisingly well-organised side that belied their lowly league standing, for most of the game and were the width of the woodwork outside a two-goal lead.

There are panic substitutions and there are substitutions and Celtic’s changes slowly swung the balance against Saints and there was little chance of first half repeat downer. Scott Brown was pushing forward on the right and it wasn’t working out along with Boyata trying to be Pirlo, © TBB it was an opening forty-five of some lost possessions.

Rodgers warmed Paddy at half time, and it was clear he’d replace Gary MacKay Steven who is suffering from lost confidence looking for his game, something Roberts never loses is the instant ability in beating his man.

You don’t know what you’ve got till its gone? – James Forrest’s pace clearly cannot be matched, so its horses for courses in Brendan’s large squad and Paddy Roberts just overtook Gary Mackay Steven on the run in.

Chunky Sviatchenko and Creaking Lustig battled all day and held firm along with Spritely Boyata although Andrea he’s clearly not. Nir Bitton was replaced whilst playing at least a gear or two below top.

Scott Sinclair broke wide just once on the left and it was enough to allow him his trademark goal having gotten beyond the bit where Neil EBT McCann says he needs ‘taken out’ . Our captain went on to deserve his award after some sublime second half strictly Broony combo stuff.

    M.O.M Scott Brown.

  22. One of the reasons I thought we were highly likely to lose a league match this season was because a first half, indeed a first 58 minutes, like today, was highly likely to see us lose points.

We could have been 2:0 down with Dembele;s sclaff onto his own crossbar and the recovery road would have been much harder then.

We were a nervous fractious crowd again because we are so desperate for a treble. We were moaning before the 15 minute mark and all out players retreated from showing the bravery and confidence that Brendan wants them to show. We made it hard for our players.

Still the 2nd half drive of Broony, the eagerness of Griffith and the guile of Paddy was enought to turn this rouns and, in the end, to us being comfortable.

We have confidence going into next week’s game

  23. VFR

Given our prior discussion on Roberts You will note I previously said he made the difference!

Roberts also made a huge difference, 2 assists and a constant threat, but I thought the whole team dynamic changed when LG came on. Either way a far better second half and hopefully the first half serves as a weee wake up call ahead of next week.

  25. mike in toronto on

VFR…got a feeling he will be a very, very good one! my sense was that he would play the same role as SB… I’d imagine BR will start with SA and SB next week, and ease him into the first team

Mentioned VW a moment ago… was just watching Spurs … a few players on there must be giants… one or two standing beside VW at the end, who dwarfed VW made VW

  26. I have made my views known of need for an upgrade in the defensive mid area.

Eboue had a competent and assured debut but to early to give him the spot yet.

The silly and unnecessary foul that almost resulted in a Moussa own goal and us being 2 down is why i do not trust the present incumbent. It happens to frequently as he gets wrong side and has to foul often in dangerous areas.

Bitton has been ok in last few weeks so should retain jersey until Eboue proves he is worthy.

He won’t start with paddy and Lustig – the horribles will get at that pair. Paddy will be on the bench as usual – probably another of our favorite scapegoats will start – C McG!!

  29. VFR800 is now a Monster 821 on

MIT my feeling is that he will replace Nir Bitton rather than anyone else.

Gary67, I thought the dynamic had changed already before Griff came on; the tempo had increased and St Mirren had started to drop much deeper. Brendan Rodgers seeing that realised we didn’t need Bitton sitting as deep so could sacrifice him; drop Brown back 10 yards and let Leigh Griffiths work in the space Brown and been in.

IMHO it was Roberts who increased the tempo and made St Mirren drop that extra 10 yards allowing a further change of personnel and shape.

  30. overseasbhoy on

It’s not just the assists with Paddy. He creates space, can pick a pass and more often than not assists the assister e.g. Sincy’s goal at Crumbledome and Moussa today.

  31. GMS problem is that he has no right foot, simples, he has no confidence to take anyone on his

right side and get to the byeline as he cannot cross the ball, he will always go inside and either runs into trouble or stumbles, needs to play on left side.

  32. leftclicktic on

Delighted Griff got a goal today,

Not that fussed who we draw though if i had the pick i would take sheep or jags let the hibees slew the huns.

  33. If we play like we did in the 1st half next week we could be down more than 1at Ht. Mckay puts a good corner in, they move around a lot before it comes in trying to cause confusion and of course they will dive given any opportunities. Although they will be without the head case Garner we don’t know who the Mib will be. We need to limit the number of corner conceded. And we need to be a lot sharper than today, HH swally time.
