Conspiracies are difficult to maintain

351

I am not a great believer in conspiracy theories because conspiracies are very difficult to maintain.  If two or three people know about what you are up to, you have a chance of keeping a lid on it, if the number rises to 20 or 30, your conspiracy will eventually be outed.

This is why Newco staff and players attending a party on Saturday night were exposed and why other partygoers from the same club were caught earlier in the season.  It is also why Newco were caught in July, when they played a friendly against Dundee United despite their test results (all negative) not being available until after the game.

Football is afforded discretionary status to continue to operate without normal social distancing requirements on condition rigorous testing is maintained.  This has had consequences for Celtic, who lost a significant portion of their squads in October and January when players had been in the vicinity of positive team-mates (international and domestic).

So if Newco have a lax attitude to testing, can we extrapolate that they would subvert competitions by pretending that in October a positive player who had contact with dozens of other Newco players did not happen?  Throughout their 8 year history, they have always respected the rules and spirit of the game, so it is unlikely.

If they did, the facts will out when players move on.  Several are already out on loan, more will leave soon.

I thought you said they were part of it…make your mind up.

  2. Celtic should do what the Rugby Men have done at Murrayfield , Upgrade Barrowfield training ground install stands ,changing facilities, also pay admission to watch the Development Squad ,hopefully other reserve teams will come and play there making sure there fitness levels are on par with the first team squad, with me mentioning Barrowfield I thought there were plans for that to go ahead ,

His politics thereafter is best summed up by Mick McGahey’s designation of him as Broken Reid.

Maybe also worth remembering, in the context of him being a hun, how quick he was to denouncing his Labour opponents in the parliamentary election in Clydebank as Falangists.

Potato republic for decades until the EEC helped them out.

It’s instructive that you use ‘potato’ as a means of deriding Ireland. Brits, especially recently, have been using ‘potato’ as the acceptable face of racism. Shouting ‘potato’ to remind us of the power axis Ireland has been part of since 1m Irish men, women and children were starved to death under the “Potato famine” myth. And which Priti Patel was recently trying to recreate.

You’re an absolute embarrassment. You should be ashamed of yourself. You’re the worst sort of uncle tom Celtic “fan” there is – maybe you should consider supporting Hibs, or Rangers. They’d both be more in keeping with your “Potato” garbage and your desire to *remove* democratic representation from people. And ridiculously, on the grounds you’re so ridiculously arrogant that you think you know best and can’t countenance that in fact your views pretty much can all be filed under ‘bitter only man’. I’d actually like it if it were also the product of the drink – because at least then there might be the prospect of a better sober person, but you’re just poison.

Paul 67 – As far as QAnon style conspiracy garbage goes, it appears that you’re pushing further down this path rather than pulling away from it. A shame given a couple of decent articles lately. Today marks a new low. Follow Follow would be fertile ground for the content here today.

  6. Not giving the vote to the under 25s ffs.

If you wanted to be ageist it is the over 60s who have given us Tory governments and Brexit – without a doubt the stupidest act of self harm any electorate has ever done to itself. Over 65s were twice as likely to vote to leave the EU as under 25s. Each and every one of them (barring the amoral 1% who will profit from the suffering of everyone else) thick as shit.

The only problem with the younger generation is not enough of them vote. I blame the parents.

They don’t want to play in the big games — they just want to paddle in the shallow end.

I have a 25 year gap regarding parametric design research — they still haven’t worked it out.

We struggled through it but I got to fully understand it and its limitations in industry.

The real world has moved on — modularity / chunking / platforms / architecture and they are still trying to do design optimisation using Bezier curves and the “Pareto” front. Really good stuff but they need to raise up their heads and see the real world view and its associated applications.

Consequently hoping things improve — lots of good people in academia.

There was no potato famine — there was a failure of the potato crop in Ireland that effected the northern hemisphere.

People in Reland did not have a diet that was 100% based on potatoes.

There was a famine brought on by economic orthodoxy / political mis-management / social superiority / government chicanery / racist indifference / rent seeking.

Potatoes or the lack of them had nothing to do with any of that.

For the record Scotland is rapidly turning into a haggis republic as its civic insitutions wither and die on the vine.

If same club, ebt, LNS etc are not a conspiracy of the establishment and media to re-establish the Hun supremacy I don’t know what is. And all in plain sight.

  15. The tax justice report into Scottish football was scathing in it’s criticism of the SFA. This report was ignored by the politicians and the media in this country.

We live in a unique society. A society dominated and corrupted by a football club.

Scottish football, the judiciary, police Scotland, the media, politics, the financial institutions and the establishment in Edinburgh.

  16. Strange stuff today.

If anyone has information now about breaches of COVID legislation they should properly be raised now. I would suggest there is probably a legal as well as moral imperative to do so. This is a public health issue not simply a football one.

Amd let’s say that it does turn out that a sevco player put his own squad and ours at risk in October. I have no faith in the board doing anything about it. It would be grounds for awarding 3-0 wins to every team they played during the period they should gave isolated or forfeited games. They should also be deducted points and fined by the leaguecand SFA. There would be grounds for prosecution as well i would think.

Not sure if this article though is intended as a squirrel. But unlike sevconians the plc board should be aware that Celtic folk are able to fight and concentrate on different fronts. Such distraction if it proves false will simply be another nail in the boards coffin.

Have to disagree then regarding your viewpoint.

No use in pushing boundaries if it doesn’t take us anywhere useful.

Academia needs to understand the real world / industry — if they don’t then they would be as well doing crosswords.

One of the reason we don’t have industry is that a huge gulf has opened up.

If they do NOT have ANY inside Info etc…whats the Feckin point in interviewing these has been Chumps ?

There was no potato famine — there was a failure of the potato crop in Ireland that effected the northern hemisphere.

Oddly, that’s why I referred to it as a myth. If your reading comprehension was up there with your socio-economic insight we might actually make more progress.

Of course that might affect your preening, but rest assured, the rest of the blog must be reading your response with a similar “Eh” reaction to me.

People in Reland did not have a diet that was 100% based on potatoes.

Really? Now there’s a shock! Irish people with diet not just consisting of potatoes! If only I had a published historian and academic as a mother….

You’re not pulling back from the ‘you’re an embarrassment’ very successfully are you?

There was a famine brought on by economic orthodoxy / political mis-management / social superiority / government chicanery / racist indifference / rent seeking.

Or put more simply – the Brits enacted genocide on the Irish.

Potatoes or the lack of them had nothing to do with any of that.

You keep telling yourself that. The potato blight was the lever for the power play and murder of 1m human beings.

However, let’s get back to brass tacks – your use of the ‘Potato’ as a means of belittling the Irish. The British have told themselves the comfortable lie that the potato famine was a myth, whilst at the same time loudly shouting ‘potato’ whenever they wee an Irish person. Just like you did, incidentally.

Of course, if you can supply a different explanation for your insult? Have at it.

Sorry if my language upsets you — hopefully you will learn from your mistakes and improve your analysis.

‘Or put more simply – the Brits enacted genocide on the Irish.’

    ###

It would be more accurate, and fairer, if less simple, to say that the British ruling class enacted genocide on the Irish.

    Connolly summed it up

“Had Socialist principles been applied to Ireland in those days not one person need have died of hunger, and not one cent of charity need have been subscribed to leave a smirch upon the Irish name. At the lowest computation 1,225,000 died of absolute hunger; all of these were sacrificed on the altar of capitalist thought.”

  27. I just checked the oficial Rangers Site to see if they had anything to say in response to Maxwell’s SFA report on Child Abuse in Youth Football. I could find no statement at all.

However I did find this- with the odious Mike Ashley chasing them through various law courts – it takes a fair brass neck to mount a campaign against counterfeit strips:-

“RANGERS is ramping up its efforts to increase our brand protection and strengthen our club’s reputation within the commercial market.

We now have dedicated resources and expertise to ensure any counterfeit merchandise and products using Rangers’ trademarks illegally, will be subject to appropriate action and the strongest consequences possible.

Rangers will not accept breaches of its trademarks and will take all necessary measures to protect our supporters from unofficial merchandise.

For the avoidance of doubt, any purchases that are not from shop.rangers.co.uk or an official club partner or licensee are not official and do not benefit the club.

Furthermore, unofficial products will not have passed the same rigorous safety checks nor will they have been held to the same high standard as our official club products.

We encourage all Rangers supporters to only buy official Castore & Rangers merchandise and official licensed products from the club’s approved partners. The days where it was deemed necessary to buy from beyond official outlets are now gone.

Several repeat offending vendors are damaging the club’s brand and illegally producing products for personal gain. They will be held to account- action will be taken as and when necessary.

The club will pursue all available options to prevent counterfeit activity and invite supporters to report any information related to suspected counterfeit goods to brandprotection@rangers.co.uk.

All information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence and will only be shared where required to enforce Rangers’ rights and help close down those who would seek to exploit them and the club’s support.

The club continues to be humbled by our global fan base who this season have bought official products in incredible numbers, which directly benefit the club.”
