CQN and Celtic Supporters Liaison

475

I’m having a preoccupied week, so Hot Smoked and vfr800a8 have kindly stepped forward with today’s article, and an initiative, which will hopefully establish a direct route for the blog to ask questions of the club.

This is from  Hot Smoked and vfr800a8, please support the initiative:

In 2004 Paul67 decided that something was needed to combat the distorted MSSM reporting on all things Celtic.  The result was the birth of CQN.

Like all good ideas, CQN has developed and now provides an outlet for discussions ranging from Independence to toasted cheese.  Nevertheless, the raison d`etre of the site remains the same i.e. as provision of a vehicle to inform on all matters Celtic from a less prejudiced view than that of the MSSM.  However, there are still issues that arise that could do with some direct input and clarification from Celtic.

With that in mind, we contacted John Paul Taylor, the Celtic Supporters Liaison Officer and after discussion he has agreed to host a weekly/fortnightly Q & A session at a set time on CQN.  He is also willing to do a Blog Q&A session on a regular basis if required; the frequency of the “regular basis” is yet to be defined so we will approach this flexibly.

If there are urgent issues that arise then we can approach John Paul to see if there is a possibility of a response prior to the scheduled meetings, though it is expected that this will only take place in exceptional circumstances.

Initially, to ensure that all areas of any given topic are covered, we would propose we tackle different sets of questions on separate weeks; for example:

Week 1 – Res 12 and “same club” issues

Week 2 – The stadium, fan experience and safety at other stadiums

Week 3 – Ticket allocation issues

Week 4 – Offensive Behaviour at Football Act

The questions and issues will be collated centrally on CQN and grouped to reflect the various views on the Blog.  We feel that this approach is unique to CQN and don’t think any other fan site has this opportunity so we must use it wisely.

It is envisaged that if those using CQN see this as being useful and beneficial that we start the meetings on Friday 18th November 2016, so we would finalise questions and issues by mid-day on tomorrow, 17th November to get them to John Paul.  Please send questions you would like to raise to competition@celticquicknews.co.uk and Liason in the subject line

So, let us know what you think and if the feedback is positive, we can get this off the ground!  If there are issues or questions you have on Res 12 and the same club myth please let us know by noon tomorrow by emailing competition@celticquicknews.co.uk

Thanks, Hot Smoked and vfr800a8.

In other news CQN is delighted to publish Stephen Murray’s new book Kenny of the Celtic today. It’s available now from cqnbookstore.com

  1. Brogan Rogan Trevino and Hogan on

    Good Morning.

Been busy thus far today so only just catching up.

OK, I don’t know that Kil Ultra is any kind of Level 5 employee or anything other than a fan with a perceived gripe.

That being so I have some questions that may well help clear things up for all:

    1. KU — who do you think was not a shareholder ( I genuinely don’t know the answer to that ) and what difference does it make if they were or were not shareholders?

    2. You say that two of us have colluded with the board and continue to do so. Would that be myself and Auldheid and, if so, can you explain how we colluded with the board or still do so?

    3. You said, as far as I can see, that the original idea behind Res 12 was scuppered by adjourning the resolution (an act of sabotage in your opinion) as by doing so you or the shareholders in general never go to here the view of the board or their thoughts on the resolutions and the question of the Rangers/New Rangers or whatever.

With respect, the view of the board was clear. They were not for the resolution, they were voting against the resolution and they took the view that the resolution was unnecessary because Celtic had already written to the SFA and had obtained answers.

The truth of the matter is that Auldheid had been writing to PL for months before he got round to writing to the SFA and when we finally got to discussing the resolution and the board response to the same with PL and the Company Secretary, it became clear to them that were in possession of information and analysis that cast considerable doubt on the accuracy of the reply received from the SFA.

That being the case, the board agreed to keep the resolution alive by adjourning it by agreement, so that further enquiries could be made of the SFA and UEFA. This also allowed us to gather further information, make further enquiries of our own through our solicitors, and allowed further information to come to light from a variety of sources. It also allowed us to get both the SFA and UEFA on the record in far greater detail than the information provided to Celtic and that is where we stand now.

None of us can guarantee what the outcome will be here, but given the state of current knowledge and the fact that more and more people appear to be asking similar questions to the ones we asked several years ago, it would appear that the club and others are far more engaged in the issues of Res 12 at this time than they were in 2013.

Were we not able to persuade them to adjourn the resolution in 2013 then there would be nothing to discuss and nothing for the press/TOG/SII etc to report on.

While I am willing there may well be a legitimate alternative view, I honestly believe we took the correct course of action.

By all means feel free to provide a dissenting opinion.

    Cheers

    BRTH

Ask Paul67 for my email address and then contact me

  5. BRTH

An excellent reply to KU opinion , no slagging, no troll nonsense, whether he agrees with you guys or not? He should get respect, a few in here should try this, the bullying stuff falls short of either making your point, or debating on it, IMO.

  6. I’m afraid that the information posted regarded season ticket prices is misleading.

I have two tickets in the club Celtic lounge.

From memory these cost me me £1920 each.

Other club Celtic season ticket holders can confirm this.

We watch the same teams as Hamilton .

Fitba is an expensive thing to watch in Scotland. When you compare the standard to the likes of the Bundesliga.

  7. TINYTIM on 17TH NOVEMBER 2016 12:30 PM

The prices will be for standard season tickets with no additional benefits.

  8. If NOTHING else emerges from Res 12 ( and I personally feel that there is more to come) it at least establishes, what we all knew, that the side currently playing out of the bigotdome are in the official correspondence from UEFA deemed to be a NEW Club. Now all we need to do is make sure they update their website and get the SPFL to follow (follow) suit. Money well spent.

HH the Resolutioners for their efforts.

  9. Tinytim I am also in the Club Celtic Lounge and well less than half of what you quote. Either you’ve got done or I am lucky, usually in Lounge 2 ED203 H H Hebcelt

  10. Tiny Tim,

My nephew pays 50 quid for his ticket but I guessed they were doing research on standard adult prices.

But at least everyone knows you’re doing very well now ;)
