Even in the Derby games after the Janefield street carry on the trouble provoked by the Polis continued. I can recall Police cars driving thru the exiting crowd at high speed as fans jumped out of the road.
Folks who weren’t around probably don’t understand the openly antagonistic approach of the Polis in those days. Confiscating Tricolours etc was the norm.
Also I remember coming bacj from Celtic v Dundalk and clashes with the RUC at the ferry terminal in Larne. It was just prior to JP2 visit to Glasgow and the RUC were confiscating and degrading the flags bearing his likeness.
In fairness the open hostility IMO has reduced, but you cant hide the deep held hatred that many folks still harbour to this day
So that there is no confusion….

I am fed up with the lingering death throes of the Scottish Establishment’s favourite team; it is like an oversized turd that just can’t be flushed away. It smells like I am living next to the Dung Heap of the local farmer’s field and the smell just won’t go away…
