Since July I’ve written about the over-dependence we have on Kris Commons as a creative player. He’s pretty much our only option, and if he’s not fancied, injured, suspended or just off-form, we look like a team full of energy but without a key to open the door.
It may be that Ronny doesn’t figure on having a classic No. 10 in his team, and it’s more than possible that we won’t play one against European heavyweights, but against packed SPFL defences, we need someone who can create space in dangerous areas.
As we mentioned last month, some years ago Celtic reportedly looked at Bosnian international, Semir Stilic, while he was at Lech Poznan. His star faded before a journey through Ukrainian and Turkish football before he returned to Poland with Wisla Krakow 12 months ago on an 18 month contract. Since then he’s been a sensation and has kept Wisla in touch with the top of the table.
He’s refused a new contract offer from Wisla and is subject to a bid from Dinamo Zagreb, thought to be in the region of €250k. He’s likely to be on circa €2k per week. We’ve scouted the player, he’s soon out of contract, going cheap, on low wages, on form and we’re short of what he can give.
This is the kind of player Dinamo Zagreb pick up for buttons and enables them to compete as effectively as they did against Celtic with a fraction of our budget. He has the making of an effective January signing.

WC @ 22.12, tell us more…?
I hope we win to-morrow night v Killie, i have this bad feeling that we could start to struggle ,and as a lot of know we couldnt buy a win.so my confidence is very low of this team winning the league. i hope im wrong

All the best on your return mate, take it easy though:)))

That rings a bell, from memory I think we wore the black strips with the thin green horizontal pinstripes (I liked that strip!) that night and Viduka scored.
Even though we were well behind in the league there seemed to be more of a buzz about Celtic in those days. Maybe it was the great attacking players we had (even if they were to a degree offset by the Riseths and Tebilys).
Even Kilmarnock seemed to have a much bigger matchday support then than they have now.

Great news that you’re getting back to work(I know, I know double edged sword). Has the operation been a complete success? I know you won’t be turning out for the Hoops anytime soon but are you more mobile than before the last op?

Need to go for replacement next year 2016, just need to deal with it until then
I’ve just seen the McManus penalty awarded by Collum. Absolutely as you would expect from a total incompetent who has been a favoured son of the MIB mafia.

Ronny has, IMO, proven himself to be an excellent Coach, I’m disappointed that 1 or 2 new First team players are not at the Training camp.

Great running with the ball at pace by Mackay Steven for Utds equaliser. Impressive.
So as I head to bed a wee prayer to st Anthony that we find :
Centre half worth his salt
2x creative midfielders with some craft able to ‘unlock’ a defence (to play left and right of the three)
A dominant defensive midfielder with positional savvy
Savvy?
Night u all
Even rob McLean commented on the remarkable recovery of the firhill pitch
Partick’ s pitch looked pretty good considering it was unplayable on Thursday. Partick have had most of their team unfit this week and couldn’t fill the bench today, hmmmm!
Scotland has a world champ:)
Willie Collum – never a penalty.
Fleming?

can you point me to the post from bankiebhoy that is annoying you so much,
been reading all night and never saw him post anything controversial
Ok so someone like to enlighten me before I offer my congratulations to Gary Anderson on winning the Worlds Darts Championship wether he’s a hun or a tim
kdc
Stress to St Anthony the 2 creative midfielders. With the amount of possession we normally have they could make all the difference and provide John, Stefan and Leigh with decent service against packed defences

Mickbhoy he’s a currant..

Set in or about An Gorta Mor ? – isn’t that one and the same thing.
——————————————————————————————————————
No. If it was a comedy about the Irish Famine then the jokes would be about the impact of the famine on the Irish population whereas if it is set in Ireland at the time of the famine, it would not. Allo, Allo was set during World War Two as was Dad’s Army. The humour centred around the characters and the background was the second world war an tragic event where is is estimated between 50 and 80 million people died.
==
Nonsense the very idea is offensive in the extreme. The population of Ireland fell by 25% during the years of hunger. Over 1 million Irish died of starvation in a land of plenty, millions emigrated and further thousands died in coffin ships fleeing to the new world to survive. Yet some see no harm in comparing that to Dads army or Allo Allo – FFS.
Perhaps a chorus of the famine song is in order, that is also just a bit of harmless fun isn’t it?
———————————————————————————————————————
So it’s ok to set comedies in the First (Black Adder) and Second World Wars but not the Irish Famine?
Anderson beats Taylor – shame he’s a hun
