The Football Specials will be packed today with optimistic Celtic fans ahead of their opening competitive game of season 1966-67 at Tynecastle. The Glasgow club hope to win the League Cup for the fourth time in their history. They face a Hearts team looking to win the League Cup for the firth time, which last season became increasingly dependent on lightning-fast striker, Willie Wallace.
By comparison, the reigning Division One and League Cup champions have two of the best wingers in the country. Bobby Lennox and Jimmy Johnstone were the only Celtic players to score in their final eight competitive games of last season, as Jock Stein’s team’s fitness proved crucial with a barrage of late goals.
St Mirren visit Clyde in the other Group 4 game, the only group with all Division One teams, but it’s the two giants who meet in Edinburgh who are favourites to produce the group winner.

Happy Birthday Fidel!
MOONBEAMS WD
“Celtic PLC do SFA”
Yep. The strongest voice, the best financed, biggest support.
Standard bearers in Europe.
And say eff all.
Bring back FFM and his video collection,I say.
Craig Thomson is deliberate.
An Edinburgh hun who has no problem administering his version of the laws to suit his agenda.
STARRYPLOUGH
No doubt some will ask what Fidel has to do with Celtic.
Ask BOCA10. One of his t-shirts in my collection has an image of Fidel alongside Danny McGrain!
Often wondered whether Hoxha would have allowed Castro to visit Albania unless he got rid of the beard. Danny? Legend,son-yer in!
If it was a Dundee player making the challenge, Thomson would be asked to explain that decision. No accountability for these guys, so the cheating continues.
Who anywhere outside of the asbestos dome misses this? On another note, Barton clearly unfit and thought he would walk his way through games. Dundee were woeful and they struggled to get over line, any team with decent movement and any physicality will give them problems.
FAN-A-TIC
As a lawyer,he should know better. His grasp of the laws of football, and willingness to manipulate them simply because he is in charge, will debar him from advancement professionally.
Oh,wait…

Sometimes I try not to be cynical. But I always end up being wrong!
Snake Plissken
Yeah, Thomhun saw it alright but unfortunately his view was obscured – by his bias.
It will be interesting to see if he lets any challenges like that from Broony & Co go without a caution.
Sad these guys can’t apply the rules with a bit of self respect and professionalism. A lot to have on your conscience.

BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS
There are some Euro footy fans who are now the proud possessors pf Boca 10 t-shirts that I gave away on my travels..
Love their kit..

Unless of course, you don’t have a conscience,
It’s something that permeates the Sevconian culture, from David Murray all the way down.
STARRYPLOUGH
My most prized of his was the Henrik/Heineken one. Gift from my sisters,as are most.
Loved it.
One day,I wore it to the CSC in Bristol. Belle of the Ball,I was. So to speak.
Anyway,a few asked where they could get one. Discontinued,I replied. Legal reasons.
One guy literally begged me for it as he had named his son Henrik!
I took his number, phoned him before my next visit, handed it over. His lad, about 12yo by this time, burst into tears cos he didnae believe his Dad could get one.
I was nearly in tears myself at losing it,tbh. Needs must.
Dundalk v Legia on BT Sport on Wednesday too

Our James all over it.

To be honest, i don’t care how much help they get. It will be all the sweeter when they come up against us, possibly 2 points in front, thinking they are in with a shout.
At trip to Paradise for them?
Obliteration.
Reality check.
Bubble burst.
Back where they belong – behind us.

Telt ye,any excuse. None tried on a genuine legend, though
Hoxha was always anti-Soviet. IIRC,he relied much on Chinese aid to prop up his regime.
Any you guys help me here ? Someone I know was over for the Champions League game game on 3/8/16 and parked the car at the Forge shopping centre, I have just received a letter from Smart Parking advising that if I don’t pay £45 within 14 days I will have to pay £90 as a parking charge.
Has anyone else had this shit and what’s the craic with it? What’s the best way to deal with it. I live in N. Ireland, is this enforceable ?
KEVINLASVEGAS
James nails it. Hit every target.
Huns are mid table at best. Barton is a busted flush, if he ever was a flush to start with!
Group of lightweights, no great cutting edge and Miller up front!
Aberdeen, Hearts and others will take care of them as we will do.
Let’s see the laptop loyal big up a mid table, at best, Sevco.
DOIREBHOY
If you send me £30 I can sort it for you(!)
Seriously, considered opinion is to ignore. Plenty have asked the same question. I can’t recall anyone saying they got done eventually.
Ach Ive not seen the tackle that has preoccupied a few folk this afternoon, surely there are better things to do on a Saturday afternoon than subjecting yourself too watching that mob on the telly and spend the rest of your day trying to get your blood pressure back to normal.
Anyway I have it on very good authority that Craigy was ushered straight into the too see the referees supervisor at the end of the game and has been assured that he has cemented his place to take charge of next months Celtic and Rangers game
ps Alloa getting getting a doing at Stranraer so nothing to fear on the league cup front either
oops Alloa now turned the game around……still not that worried though
Doirebhoy
They give up after they have sent you three or four letters without reply
DB- as per BMCUW, a bhoy posted a while ago, don’t make any contact with them, as it means you take some kind of ownership of the alleged offenceHH
Mickbhoy1888….. Thanks!

Mistakes like today have been implemented strictly in the past along with EBT/DOS to keep the Huns ahead of Celtic at any cost, even liquidation. We have beaten both cheating and EBT’s with some managerial & player brilliance backed up, in some years, financially winning against the odds. Far too many times for their liking and let’s face it numerically way more than should ever have been expected given the levels of cheating both on and off the park.
Too be only 7 titles off of the died co’s tally is astounding.
Imagine a truly level playing field were bigotry and sectarianism did not come into skewing the outcome.
Now though they know their cheating cannot and will not catch us, at least until New Rangers secure European football for a minimum of3 to 5 years so they can build and gain an advantage over all other competitors in Scotland excluding Celtic.
That is the current aim of their cheating. They cannot do it on their own footballing or financial merits. They know it, the establishment know it, The SPFL know it, the SFA know it, Level 5 and their sports media lack ira know it andCeltic PLC know it.
Every one of the above in not exactly involved in orchestrating it are accepting of it. It’s good for business and bonuses.
CELTIC PLC will keep doing SFA to stop it.
We as fans have signed up to it in full knowledge.

BMCUW.
I fondly remember the delights of Hoxha’s speeches on Radio Albania. He once managed 18 hours on the dangers of Titoism. Some poor soul got the job of doing the translation for the English language version.
I like the Evil Genius. He highlighted the Cheater as much as was possible, he then praised Sevco when they done decent play. He just calls things exactly as he sees them.
I think he is an excellent co-commentator in this respect, no matter who is playing.
BMCUW…….cheers bhuddy!

Doirebhoy –
My son received a similar notice after parking in the Forge for the Malmo game a year ago. He received a couple of letters which he ignored. He then received an offer – just pay half and we’ll call it quits. He ignored that too. Eventually they gave up. Not enforceable.
Fugedaboudit.
MICKYBHOY
Aye,yer bang on. Let’s just ignore the cheating, ignore the laws of the game being turned upside down and inside out to accommodate one club.
As usual.
Let’s sit at the back of the bus without protest cos it was always like this.
Boot me in the baws while yer at it,I joooost love that,me.
No. Not this Celtic supporter. And not many others either. You carry on in your own way, happy to be treated like shite but thinking yer tolerated and respected.
You made a career out of that. Well done. Proper UFB will continue to fight the good fight.

first two times i disputed the fine by sending in receipts from buying stuff in tescos, and keeping them.
next 1 i didnt have receits, and advice on here was dont pay, they cant enforce it m in scotland for certain.
i didnt pay i got 5 letters each adding costs and threating court action, all the way through they change the name of who the debt is passed to,
the last one was from a match last xmas,
top tip, get a receipt from one of the shops, keep it just in case.
Auld Tam, cheers
Alloa 5-1 up at Stranraer half-time.
Should we be worried?
SOUTHOFTUNIS
18 hours?
Ffs,better putting on some Beatles records and having an orgy in his palace.
I canny understand some people’s priorities at times.
18 hours? Even I’d struggle wi that.
