Denayer set for Galatasaray

552

Manchester City central player, Jason Denayer, will join Galatasaray before tomorrow’s transfer deadline. The central defender was on Celtic’s radar after the injury to Rivaldo Coetzee, and all other things being equal, I believe the player would be happy to head back to Celtic, where he played season 2014-15, but City are set to conclude the deal with the Turkish club.

Celtic will soon have Dedryck Boyata and Erik Sviatchenko back from injury, while Jozo Simunovic was rested for recent games on plastic pitches, but is available for selection alongside 19-year-old Kris Ajer.

With three senior central defenders already at the club, plus one development prospect, I believe City were concerned that Jason would not have seen the development opportunities he enjoyed at Celtic first time around.

Sometimes on a blog, you need balance. Its not that im particularly negative, im just not a worshipper of the businessmen on the board. So, i give a different view. Im not always right as i said, but i do have cause to doubt the PLC on a number of issues.

Otherwise, i think you might find CQN becomes merely a talking shop where everyone is always in agreement, about everything.

Greenpinta – thanks for the heads up. I’ve been lurking for years now, but the anti-Celtic rhetoric really rips my knitting! We’re supposed to be all in this together, the bhoys on the park have bought into it…why can’t we as fans?

To be fair I don’t think many are board worshippers, however some cut them a wee bit of slack, and on your last point, there is no chance of general agreement on CQN, too many grumpy old gits for that

I don’t see an anti-Celtic agenda on here, I see posters questioning the suits, which IMO is a very good thing, you only have to take a look over the city to see supporters who never questioned their board, look how it ended up for them.

Things are going well for the club just now, as good as it’s been for some time, we are cash rich, so much so that if we don’t spend we will have to give some of it away in tax, now that is a novel idea in Glasgow.

Supporters are looking for the club to build from a position of strength, something we have NEVER done, we have threatened from time to time, but we have never actually done it, we can and it will not break our bank, we have everything in place, a top quality manager and coaching staff, we have the scouting in place, a full stadium, we have one of the best deal makers around in Pedro, there is nothing but the biscuit tin mentality stopping us.

    Welcome BTW :-)

  12. I will not be to upset if we do not sign anyone else this window. We have been there before with the blue chip signings.Ian Wright,Juninho and the Calvin Klein Buckfast wine boy.

    Pish for us.

Scatter gun approach was pish as well.

Paddy is class,we are lucky to have him.Better still HE wants to be here when I am quite sure he had other options with possibly a bigger wage packet.

We have a decent, no a very good squad here.We do not have the money that most other CL clubs have, but we Do give these bloated billionaire so called great football clubs something to think about now and again.

My football club that that plays it football in Scotland where monetary circumstances try to tell us that we are not worthy of the top table in football.

    Ha.

    Bring it on.

    We are Celtic.

We will give anyone a game.

C’mon though, you do pick the nits, we’re a massive club that has fell by the way and getting our shit together alongside the elite in Europe. Cheers Exiled Tim. I’m not on here for an argument, but I think we have to be realistic in terms of where we are. Yes, I can see us building from a position (Hotel complex etc has confirmed that), but at this point in time my belief is we should be realistic. (Granted, this could have been kickstarted in the 90’s, early 00’s, but it wasn’t).

  21. The selective ignorance on here astounds.

Rangers have never had any level of accountable corporate structure or governance in the past 30 years.

Celtic has properly run PLC board and structures.

Idiots still come on here suggesting there is a biscuit tin or some kind of great corporate rip off.

Then get all huffy and talk about ‘suits’ when folk rightly suggest anti celtic agendas.

Celtic is the best run football club in the UK which is all the more incredible given the inherent disadvantages from where we have to play.

The club is massively invested in by the paying supporters unlike many other clubs with higher turnovers in England and bigger leagues. Credit to the true supporters for that.

The ‘suits’ have a huge juggling act which they have performed incredibly well for 15 years or more. The balance sheet shows this as does the trophy haul.

Amazing that the loudest moaners on here actually don’t even pay to go to support their team anymore. Or are they just moaning and spending 16 hours a day on here whinging because they would secretly like to go back and support the team each week like most of us ?….
