Denayer set for Galatasaray

552

Manchester City central player, Jason Denayer, will join Galatasaray before tomorrow’s transfer deadline. The central defender was on Celtic’s radar after the injury to Rivaldo Coetzee, and all other things being equal, I believe the player would be happy to head back to Celtic, where he played season 2014-15, but City are set to conclude the deal with the Turkish club.

Celtic will soon have Dedryck Boyata and Erik Sviatchenko back from injury, while Jozo Simunovic was rested for recent games on plastic pitches, but is available for selection alongside 19-year-old Kris Ajer.

With three senior central defenders already at the club, plus one development prospect, I believe City were concerned that Jason would not have seen the development opportunities he enjoyed at Celtic first time around.

Absolutely. The Ntcham deal is going to look unbelievable business in a couple of years time.

I didn’t know about the Sone Aluko deal. Utter madness:

  2. MIT, UCL qualification is always a risk for us.

Having three crocked CB’s made it more difficult, but an 8-4 score isn’t so bad:-)

Next year will also be a risk, regardless of what happens between now and then.

  3. As it is out there I heard this at 20:00:

Dutch guy playing in Belgium and all players we are working on will improve the team.

Can I add to the debate with big MIT

I also believe Celtic should have set a very clear agenda, and made a huge statement to their own fans

They should have given the new club 2800 tickets for visiting our ground

Treated exactly same as all other visiting TtSPFL clubs

Now that would have sent out a welcome belated message

doc … you might be right about the LNS appeal… my memory is not as good as auldheid’s on these matters…

Our Club’s greatest strength is the fan … and the Board could have provided leadership and marshalled those forces … but, instead, treated the fans like the enemy….

If our Board wanted to, they could have waged a PR campaign ….I’ve done it for cases, and if I can do it, PL and/or DD sure as hell can too! As Mikey says in the Godfather…

Tom, wait a minute. I’m talking about a cop that’s mixed up in drugs. I’m talking about ah… ah… a dishonest cop…a crooked cop who got mixed up in the rackets and got what was coming to him. That’s a terrific story. And we have newspaper people on the pay roll, don’t we, Tom? …. And they might like a story like that. ….

It’s not personal, Doc … It’s strictly business.

I dont mean to offend Petec, but when someone says that the answers can all be found inthe Good Book, I assume they mean the Godfather!

  11. The english market is crazy, a little crazier than the other big leagues but there are still lots of quality payers out their within our price range, it’s more about getting players early door and those that put football before finance in the first few years of their careers.

We will most likely lose them later on but I think I’d rather have the desperate kid than the egomaniac that often follows

Fae earlier…..I got summoned amigo ;)

I hope your grand, my mhan.

Anyway,…..empty the park, and return the power of the club to the fans, just like Fergus said he would, but he didny.

A half empty park forced the board[is there a board ?]….to, stop bringing in puppet / project managers, like RD and his plastic roar, and pay £45k a week for Brendan, would Brendan be here, if the park hadn’t been, half empty ?

Crucially, what has to be pointed out here is, there was no boycott leading to a, half empty stadium, Apathy emptied those seats.

But, my point is, if there weren’t 30,000 empty seats, there would be no Brendan.

Another thing, do you think that DD is paying a manager, £45k to win football matches in Scotland ?

    If you do, fair enough.

DD and co, are certainly showing no sign that, they’ve brought Brendan in to challenge in Europe….imho.

I think that, DD and co, are paying a manager that amount of money, fans money, to skelp Scottish pub teams, hopefully for DD and co, the skeping of pub teams will keep CP full and, nip any lingering fan rebellion in the bud.

But, for how long will the skelping of pub teams, placate the fans for, Celtic PLC’s inaction, to all the hun cheating ?

The Judicial Review, is another round, in a long game to get the huns / SFA off wi, 25 years of Murray Mibbery.

Its a game and Celtic PLC are players.

If, Celtic PLC are serious, about challenging corruption, why did they not act on, John Reid’s dossier, which he compiled after carrying out his own judicial review ?

John Reid was hardly seen after that ???

    Awfy strange ???

Anyway, to answer your question, empty seats is the only language that, PLC billionaires understand.

To conclude, imho……, if Celtic Park is full, the SFA will get the nod from CP to, keep kicking justice into the long grass.

But, we’ve all got minds of our own.

Or at least, that’s how its meant to be, right ?

Hope you and yours are well amigo, God bless.

    ……oot.

Of course I do, and I think it is improving, I just don’t think it’s as easy as you keep suggesting, decent players are chased by everyone. We have sent 27 players out of the door this summer, Brendan is making his mark. You make a lot of assumptions with no facts to back it up

  21. My friends in Celtic,

We would all like the best players playing for Celtic . We can all agree with that, I hope. However why would players come to Scotland when they can earn vastly more, plying their trade in virtually any other stage. Even an average squad player will earn more in the bigger leagues

Mostly The modern day footballer is a mercenary, with no loyalty or affinity to a particular club. He will go where he can earn the most , for himself and his agents. He will value cash more than Scottish league titles.

This is the reality we face as even English championship clubs can offer more than what we can.Financially we are not a big club, but our support base makes us think we are a big club.

Our support is our greatest asset, acknowledged worldwide. I can’t believe that some fans want to deprive our team of our biggest asset. They say BR is being let down by the board and could leave ( Don’t know what factual evidence they have for that ) But an empty stadium will hasten BR’s departure, of that I am sure.

  24. Remember the Mowbury January window?

Never want to repeat that – utter panic. I was told we (the board obviously) committed more on that night than the previous three Windows ( loan fees and wages).

Aside from Robbie Keane, it was a disaster.

I’m ok with where we are now.

Wouldn’t mind a centre back though.
