Denayer set for Galatasaray

552

Manchester City central player, Jason Denayer, will join Galatasaray before tomorrow’s transfer deadline. The central defender was on Celtic’s radar after the injury to Rivaldo Coetzee, and all other things being equal, I believe the player would be happy to head back to Celtic, where he played season 2014-15, but City are set to conclude the deal with the Turkish club.

Celtic will soon have Dedryck Boyata and Erik Sviatchenko back from injury, while Jozo Simunovic was rested for recent games on plastic pitches, but is available for selection alongside 19-year-old Kris Ajer.

With three senior central defenders already at the club, plus one development prospect, I believe City were concerned that Jason would not have seen the development opportunities he enjoyed at Celtic first time around.

But no way you are a Tim

The 90’s belonged to the old Rangers, but thankfully both are consigned to the history books

1995 Pierre Van Hooijdink & Tommy Burns and Wim Jansen & Harlad Brattback made the 90s no too bad :-)

GFB where were you when VH scored? I can pretty much the time and place. I celebrated that night as a teenager in the HIBS on Royston Rd, with police officers jovially joining in. The 90’s weren’t the greatest but we are Celtic through and through.

Not convinced, your post at 10.32pm is pretty shocking, if true, even more shocking, all the very best anyway

Centenary year was special, even more so now that I am older and appreciate Celtics achievements against all odds, but as a daft teenager not knowing much better the 1989 Joe Miller stopping the (tax dodgers even back then) of the treble was also magic…. Brendan is continuing the joy of being a Celtic fan

  15. I have it on good authority that we will be looking at bargain basement deals in the hope they improve our first team. None of the players we sign are on the list of “targets” identified by the manager.

not saying its right or wrong but it is very risky given we need one or two experienced players – especially in defense.

  16. TGM.

We are all Celts, we all want what’s best for the team & the Club.

We can’t compete at the top end of the market, we have to take a gamble & try to get guys with potential,

I honestly think both our Management team & The Board are doing OK in that regard,

It’s a great great time to be a Tim, but I agree with your earlier point that we need views from both ends of the spectrum or else the site would be boring.

So keep it lit and we can argue & disagree in a civil manner,

No more arguing or debate from me tonight though , had a hectic couple of days and am knackered, so Good Night & God Bless All.

Odsonne Edouard sounds like a great signing, hope we get him. Young, obviously a talent representing France through the ranks, and offers us another and different option up front.

Shooting passers-by – well, Brendan will get him telt what’s on and what’s not regarding behaviour.

Could be another gem we’ve picked up for peanuts while questionable EPL players like Oxlade-Chamberlain retail at £40 million.

Just glad GMS has moved on – with those two as team-mates the post-match drinks on a Saturday night would have looked like a scene from Bridge On The River Kwai.

    :)

  20. TGM,

Caught your wee furry remark earlier and laughed at MIT’s picture of you hailing a cab.

I think that with the market the way it is in the EPL and around the globe in general we have to be extra careful at where we make investments. We have done OK in the past with Frazer, Virgil and Victor.

I believe Brendan is looking in all the right places to get the Best deals and if it’s not right we move on just the like the SA boy.

When the windae shuts the Morra, we’ll see how the team shapes up.

    In Brendan we trust
