The SFA put on a show yesterday, providing boxing and snooker promoter, Barry Hearn, with a stage to take aim at the SPFL. I would urge caution when digesting Hearn’s words. He took aim at some easy sounding targets, for example, the league not having a sponsor, but the league don’t have a sponsor by choice.
The alternative choice would be to sell the rights for a value considerably less than the old SPL’s rights. The league took the view that they would rather maintain their asking price, and go to market when the league is in a more competitive position. This may, or may not, be a wise decision, we don’t know, and neither does Barry Hearn.
He also talked about making money by selling fights between low-quality but committed boxers at £150 per ticket. Good for him. This kind of sport, and his auditorium-filled darts, may well have a bright future, but it’s not the direction Scottish football should be heading.
The backdrop to all of this is what’s going on at Hampden. There is a power-struggle between the SFA and the SPFL. The latter are more likely to deliver radical change, the former want to maintain control, privilege and the bowling committee-type structure which has lasted for over a century.
Can you imagine how inadequate the SFA would appear if the SPFL held a similar forum, with an invited guest there to poke fun at the SFA president’s EBT and “heavily conflicted” past? If the Association are trying to clip the league’s wings I suspect they will fail. It’s more likely the SPFL will redouble their efforts to bring structural reform to our game.
This has become a dirty battle.
Some great fun at Celtic Park last night, it was like the old days, you know, when John Greig was manager at Ibrox.
Remember, Joe Miller, tonight, at Waterstones, Stirling, from 5pm. Signing copies of Caesar and the Assassin, bring your camera.
The 2015 CQN Annual is through design and ready to ship next week. You can pre-order yours now.

Auldheid,
The ‘Campbell Ogilvie’story is a disgrace on all of Scottish football. If the Clubs are going to do nothing about it,we,the supporters should. Is it true that he offered his resignation and it was refused by the S.F.A.?

I did literally laugh out loud there.
First of the day!
When she was a wee young thing she made enough money from making and selling tablet that it paid for the building of the church hall in the wee highland village she came from.
I think this was cos it was was good and she made it week after week for several years. I don’t think it was some kind of whisky galore extortion scam that involved gross overcharging and coercion of local builders…….at least that’s not how she ever told it!!!
Night Timdom

My mother in law passed away this day in 1997, loved her to bits.
A lot of posters talk about angels, perhaps without knowing anything about angels, who knows, I believe in angels, round about this time, the wife and I were in bed, all of a sudden we both at the same time heard the sound of bells and singing, we looked at each other, we had no idea of the significance at the time, about an hour later we got a call telling us Jean had passed an hour before, spooky, not at all.

I took my Son out of his fitba training one night when I got a call that his Great Gran (his Mum’s side) only had an hour or two to live. It took about an hour to get him to the hospice and I left them to say their good byes. As I travelled back down the road about 30 minutes after I’d left them, I seen one of the most amazing things ever in the sky, it is very hard to explain but the Sun had created a sort of halo effect through the bottom of clouds. She passed away, I’d guess the moment I saw that, I know it was definitely about that Time anyway after speaking to the wee guys Mum about it.
Over 100 seats damaged at the last Accies v Well game in case you huddnae heard.
The SFA are away to write up a dossier to explain their original decision. It will be on balance of probability. I can’t see any other reason for this to take 2 weeks.

If only the Maestro and Henryk were in the same team, that would have been Nir Bitton Heaven.
I reckon Ronny is going to build a team that is going to bring much joy to the Celtic Massive.

Browsing through my files I came across this document that you might want to refer to once the initial pain has ebbed. Its about grief and learning about it helped me deal with losses in my life.
I hope it is also of use to others.

I think you have the answer. It loads OK on laptop and should do on any Android phone.
Campbell calls Sally: “I have some bad news and some very bad news.”
Sally: “Well, might as well give me the bad news first.”
Campbell: “Deloitte called. They said you have 24 hours to live.”
Sally: “24 Hours! Thats terrible! What could be worse? What’s the very bad news?”
Campbell: “I’ve been trying to reach you since yesterday.”

I Believe that when Ronny has his own team on that park, and that will consist of Celtic players already coming through just as much as players brought in, IMO, that the Celtic Massive will be Delighted with Ronny Deila.
He is taking his Time and giving the existing players every chance to impress him, I don’t think many will be there for the start of next season and that is the way it goes in fitba management, Ronny is very lucky compared to just about every Celtic Manager I have known, he is being guaranteed Time.
I can’t wait to see a Ronny team that is, his. ;)

Rapid Eye Movement time for me.

I think RD will do a superlative job stitching the Celtic team and tactics together between January and the end of the season. Those gems that make the tic tick will be well placed to be sold (preferably to the EPL) next summer. More executive bonuses all round and more shite for you and me.
Super Salary to Mark Lovely Call Me and “Keep calling me Alistair”.
Petec-Mags
I sort of agree with you both.
Ronny is the cheap option, we all know that, the best players will be sold on Blah, blah blah, Ronny will be left with the weans and freebies and loans, tis up to him what he does wit them.
I have faith, cos if I didn’t, I may as well be a hun…………

Huns have faith that some sociopath is around the corner with a billion dollars or a gun.
Oh come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant
Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand
Just like that river twisting through a dusty land
And when she shines she really shows you all she can
Oh Rio, Rio dance across the Rio Grande

Massive price for over 2.5 first half goals in the Toluca – Tigres that has just kicked off. 12/1.
Those games can have a goal in 2 minutes, easily and go mental, or goal early and no more.
Grabbed it, running out of Time as we are almost at 5 minutes.
Sleep well Timland.
Big holibobs time here, shops open for a few hours in the morn, shut all day today, all day sat, and monday, mucho to do and no time to do them.
