Don’t mention the (boardroom) war

1004

With financial projections which provide entertaining reading, Rangers International promoted director, Walter Smith, to the position of chairman.  Smith immediately proclaimed, “Unity among the directors is vital”, although he was not asked about the forthcoming EGM where fellow directors Malcolm Murray and Chris Morgan face dismissal, while a third director, Charles Green, suggested he was going to resign by today, but has not got around to filling out the form yet (does this guy have ‘form’ when it comes to filling Companies House forms?)…..

They don’t do unity very well.

The only show in town is season ticket sales; for all clubs.  Maybe Celtic should appoint Martin O’Neill to the board for a few weeks to allow the newspapers to provide some bluster for those who more convinced by headlines and sound-bites than strategy?  Perhaps not.  Let’s stick to plan.

Lisbon Lion in Ayrshire, send reinforcements!

Willie Wallace will be at Waterstons in Ayr from 1-3pm this afternoon, get along (with camera) if you can.

Tomorrow Willie will be at the Celtic Superstore from 12-2pm before going to the Celtic Shop, Clydebank, from 3.30-5.30pm.  Get out and meet the man.

Great to meet so many people at Waterstons, Stirling, last night. The store sold out of Willie’s autobiography. There was actually a queue of people waiting to enter the store at one point.

Just a few days left on the auction for the signed Messi strip, a magnificent piece of football memorabilia. Keep an eye on it here.

Order your copy of Heart of a Lion, delivered before Father’s Day, below…..

    Calling Kojo

While – as is normal – scrolling through one of your posts I caught a sight of something.

Could you advise what you mean by the term

    Southern Irish Nationalists??

  2. Rhodes @SamuelRhodes_

Great news for Gooners as Arsenal have tabled a bid of £12M for Celtic midfielder Viktor Wanyama.

  3. Ajax Amsterdam placed an advertisement in a

Dutch newspaper on Friday asking Swansea

City manager Michael Laudrup to attend court

in a dispute over an unpaid tax bill.

The advertisement serves notice to Laudrup of

a court date in Amsterdam on August 29

where the club are seeking to recover money

    from their former player.

The legal notice in the Het Parool newspaper

says Laudrup has no known address in the

    Netherlands.

Ajax are seeking a sum of three million euros

($3.92 million) from the former Denmark

international in a tax case stretching back 15

    years, Dutch media said.

It follows a long standing investigation into

the transfers of Laudrup and the Georgian

striker Shota Arveladze to Ajax in 1997 and

allegations of irregular payments to the pair.

Ajax agreed a settlement in 2005, including a

500 000 euro fine, with the public prosecutor

to avoid tax evasion charges and paid around

5.8 million euros to the Dutch tax authority, a

sum later reduced on appeal last year.

Ajax has been attempting to get money back

from the two players. Two years ago they

made a bid to seize Arveladze’s assets in the

    Netherlands.

Laudrup was not immediately available to

    comment.

£12 million is a good opening bid for victor but expect to get at least 15 for him.

    Ps IMHO

W Smith is there to assist Green & Ahmed in their attempt to make as much as they can from the deluded, then help in the handover to D King some where down the line.

If he does not CG & IA and spivs will close the big house down :))

ST renewal confirmation received yesterday :) . Looking forward to another successful season ahead. By the sounds of it there are going to be more ST’s sold this year and with thousands on the priority list, things are looking good. It’s Great time to be a Celt! If we can secure CL football again this season then we are laughing. It’s so important that we achieve CL football.

When is work due to start of on Phase 1 of the Celtic Triangle? Before the new season I assume? I asked this question the other day on the blog but no one seems to know?

So, our favourite foundation was owed £39k by club that went into liquidation. Was it ever paid? Wonder what greetin graham thinks of that?

That £39k was 10% of net profit from Milan game. So RFC(IA) took in nearly £400k PROFIT from game that should’ve gone to charity!!!

All figures direct from foundation, but I bet sevconians still won’t believe me!

  18. Tallybhoy spot ..you never accept first shout at an auction still beelin over choci goin to manu for 10 iron bru bottles..victors worth a whack more..

IMO Victor has what it takes to be a top ,top player and we should not be in any hurry to sell the bhoy on .

He strolls through SPL games and never looked out of place in CL ,if Vic gets focused next term and works hard he can take his pick of the clubs that will be looking to sign him up .

IMO scouts look at the player rather than the opposition and a lot of these top scouts can sort the wheat from the chaff ,they will know what they are getting and the better ones will know how to polish the rough edges .

Two things make a deal happen ,money and the player forcing the issue .The right price can make both parties happy and the EPL need to know that just because Vic is coming from the SPL they better dig deep

There’s only so many times you can ask others to make moves so I’ve given up now.

Campbell Ogilvie will go once league reconstruction goes through and the sevconians are back at top again.

if fan’s would’ve rallied long ago then the sevconians wouldn’t have rules bent to suit

    Good for you my mhan.

    Having a San Miguel, masel.

  23. The Walter sit-yoo-ah-shun… is this, I think:

Green/Ahmad call the shots. They are not far away from waltzing away with millions. But they want ST money in first.

They said to Walter: “Either help us sell these bliddy things to the lumpen bearatariat, or we get our money another way. RIFC will sell off TRFC to the Easdales, or we will close the whole charade down and make money from the property…Your choice, Cardo…”

Walter has no choice. He accepts the position (for which he is laughingly unqualified) to buy some time, and I now fully expect acres of favourable newspaper coverage to be lavished on Dave King/Jim McColl or any Scottish white Protestant male who looks like he might have £50million burning a hole in his back pocket.

It’s their only hope. This is end-game stuff now. Either Watty is able to cobble together some half-assed rescue plan or Rangers will be well and truly dead.

    Again.
