Erik ends difficult year with loan move

412

I know we all liked big Erik. He brought instant calm to Ronny Delia’s team when he arrived two years ago today. But, while 2016 started authoritatively for the central defender, it ended with him looking pensive and out of his depth at Ibrox, albeit in a Celtic win.

2017 has been largely forgettable for the player. This season has effectively been a write-off for him, after an injury in the Champions League qualifiers. It would have been better for all if he got a permanent deal elsewhere but at least a loan return to Midtjylland will afford him time to regain his confidence, hopefully leading to a new deal elsewhere in the summer.

I am sure we are still looking at the central defensive space for this month.  There could be more in and out.

NEW CQN PODCAST OUT NOW FEATURING TOMMY SHERIDAN

A Celtic State of Mind presents its 30th instalment of insightful discussion around the culture of Celtic Football Club, the city of Glasgow, and fans of the reigning treble-winning Scottish champions.

Kevin Graham is joined by Scotty Alcroft to interview Scottish pro-independence politician, Tommy Sheridan, at The Penalty Spot in Glasgow.

The interview took place as part of A Celtic State of Mind’s first live event – Five-a-sides at The Penalty Spot – and, as such, there is some background noise (including mobile interference – apologies) from the audience.

The other voice you may hear throughout this episode is that of former Celtic striker, Frank McGarvey, who is a friend of Tommy’s, and who was also interviewed separately that day for a future show.

You are sure to enjoy Tommy’s eclectic input, as he discusses everything from Catalan independence to Coolio, with a constant undercurrent of that thing called Celtic.

Hendo at over 40% the last fortnight. Not allowing for multiple runners in the same race. That’s good going by any standards.

    Be lucky!

    Dear Mum

Very nice words thoughtfully written, yet sadly ignored on here last night.

    Hail Hail.

    Very Braw indeed.

  8. CELTIC FC,

I simply do NOT understand anyone whp proclaims to be a Celtic supporter, and then just CONSTANTLY bad mouths Celtic on here and/or in the stands ?

IF Anything annoyed me that much I would for the off, in fact I would make sure that I was AFF OOT Forever.

It’s like having a girlfriend that you don’t really like, don’t complain about the poor Ghirl…just let her go…feckin SIMPLES.

I also take great offence to some posters on here who when complaining every feckin day about Celtic, also choose to name call other Celtic supporters, who hold different views.

These CHUMPS should just turn up in the BV before or after games, or appear at ANY of the Hoots…and then feel free to try and insult me and others who DO support Celtic ?

    Its that feckin SIMPLE,

  9. BIG JIMMY on 17TH JANUARY 2018 7:53 AM

Your posts are never tedious mate. I dont bet much but may have a wee flutter today, HH.

  10. BARNEY,

My racing posts last Saturday were called “TEDIOUS , BORING etc.

This was AFTER I was lucky enough to have 8 Winners.

Again, if my horse racing posts are tedious and boring, then I would then insist that the MODS on here do NOT ALLOW ( or have a separate thread) for other topics on here that I find feckin ” TEDIOUS and BORING”….and there are MANY posts and issues on here that a MORE than just Tedious and Boring IMO, but as of yet I do NOT ask the MODS to post those posts on a different thread…I simply scroll past…SIMPLES !

No offence but, those that constantly complain about

Celtic etc…should have their very own CHUMP CELTIC COMPLAINS CHAPTERS/THREADS on here, and save the rest of us from being bored to feck each and every day…SIMPLES !

    Cheers BARNEY mate

Might be an idea when you get a decent lift to take,say,20% in cash, and ask for the balance to be placed on your bank card.

Works for me-on the odd occasion nowadays when I actually win-because by the time the winners have come in,my judgement is likely to be somewhat impaired(!)

  15. To fitba matters, as we approach the 2nd half of the season, the really important bit. I hope we can now push on and achieve a 2nd treble and gain some respectable results in the Europa Cup. I feel our reputation has been damaged in Europe with some of the drubbings we got in the CL. Indeed I’d sacrifice the SC for a decent Europa run. The League title MUST remain the top priority though.

I expect Aberdeen to push on now that they got the spectre of their manager jumping ship off their backs, and believe me it did affect them. NL has a job to do at Hibs he must not allow McGinn to leave in this window, even to us.( we’ll have him in the summer)

Expect Clarke to do well at Killie. and Murtiniho to flop massively.

    Looking forward to it. HH

As a staunch Presbyterian I would like to object in the strongest possible terms about posters encouraging people to bet on horses.

    Its devils work.

That said Johnson and Henderson are good staunch names.

Didn’t know You were a Cork Bhoy Sean, where in Cork are you from.

I’m originally from the City, Wilton to be precise not too far from University Hospital.

A very long time since I left Cork but I’m still a Rebel to the core.

Apologise for the delay in response.

I was born in the university hospital (was still called the Cork regional Hospital at that point. Actually grew up in central Scotland but to a “VERY CORK” family and was given “VERY CORK” upbringing which I am sure you will understand what I am referring too. Despite growing up in Scotland I very much still class myself as a Cork Bhoy and look on Cork as home. I enjoy my trips turners cross to watch City. Looking forward to the president’s cup and hopefully a wee run in UCL qualifiers. I see they have signed Graham Cummings back from St.Johnstone.

And yes I am also very much a rebel to the core!

  24. Sean,

You can take the Bhoy out of Cork but you can’t take Cork out of the Bhoy.

Haven t lived in Cork since I was 19 now 51 years later I still have the same accent & follow & support every team or sportsperson thar represents the place.

In fairness I’m back very regularly & nothing I enjoy more than a stroll around that Beautiful City.
