Ethics of exposing a vulnerable man, Pythonesque statement

337

You know what I think, defeats from rivals only do limited damage, the toxic poison comes from within.  Internecine strife, Bear on Bear action, can rip Newco apart.

I don’t know what Lee Wallace and our old pal Kenny Miller said to Graeme Murty on Sunday, but if it was along the lines of ‘You are out of your depth, incapable of operating at this level and exposed for what you are’, they would be correct.  That doesn’t make them right, though.

Speaking truth to the boss sounds like a good idea but commonly all it does is isolate you, weaken the boss and make everyone’s job more difficult.  Kenny Miller reached the Champions League knock out stages under Gordon Strachan, he knows what a good manager looks like.  Along with the rest of the world, he knows Murty is vulnerable and out of his depth, but it is not ethically, or tactically, a good thing to expose his vulnerability.

Whatever Miller and Wallace said was almost certainly right, but ethically it is up there with the solicitor-cum-tax advisor-cum-porn star-cum-convict Paul Baxendale Walker, who was Sir David Murray’s chief architect at Oldco and who faced a bankruptcy court hearing this week.

What an absolute shower.

Loved the statements yesterday.  ‘We’re so upset we are going to be quiet’, is Pythonesque.  It sits alongside ‘I fart in your general direction’ as an absurd masterpiece.

Just brilliant that another fan group caught the zeitgeist by telling fans “Millions have been ploughed into the club by the current board”.  So let’s not be hastily apportioning blame to Dave and Co.  I hope neither group realise how much fun they give.

Thanks to Angel Gabriel for organising a ticket for me after my butler forgot to book one online.

Had originally planned on staying over and going to Demolition Derby on Sunday but Strathclydes Finest thwarted my plans.

However I will be back the following Sunday..

    Good Evening Folks

Shay got home today as his condition had stabilised and fingers crossed, the family will be on holiday next week. The seizures he has from time to time really do give the family a cause for concern and immense worry, but Shay always seems to pull through. He is a warrior.

More good news for the family is that they found out today ( when they got home from hospital), that Shay has been accepted for Beatlie School in Livingston and will start Primary 1 in August, This is a school which helps kids who have additional needs. This is a big, big step for Shay and his family and stuff they previously only dreamed about. This has been made possible due to the generous support of CQN and indeed the wider Celtic family.

As his Mummy posts tonight “Thanks everyone, can’t believe he will be 5 and starting school ? Next wee chapter.”

Thank you for all your support and making the effort to be part of this amazing young family’s journey over the last 2 years. Makes you feel good doesn’t it?

When was the last time a SPFL was drug tested? 10 years ago? Drug use is heavy in Scottish Fitba. Clean the game fae cheats

  12. DD sorry mate Performance enhancing Drugs. Sevco players are pish.

They should go back to their dealers with ther powder as it isnt working, dealers have jumped all over it me thinks.

Seriously though I brought this up a couple of weeks ago about testing, when was the last player you heard getting caught, thousands of young guys with money to burn, come on.

When I was playing tennis, the drugs of choice were coke and speed (taken right before playing). When I switched to squash, it was grass (lots of it,). Finish late, and guys needed something to help them relax after a match.

And I was not playing either at the highest level .. but people knew everyone was doing it, so if you wanted to make it to the next level…

  17. MIT, that’s what I was meaning, out of All sScottish leagues and English leagues, which entails thousands of players, predominantly between the ages of 20- 30 all young guys with cash in their pocket. They go out at weekend (granted not all go out), some must dabble, now surely some would get caught, either by drug testing by the club or the league bodies, yet we do not hear of any failures… Mmmm

    D. :)

  18. DD surely if we know about these drug cheats the press and ultimately the leagues must know.
