Failure elsewhere cannot disguise abject Celtic challenge

1009

As the darkest clouds descend over Ibrox with news that medals in their trophy room have been poinded by sheriff officers, sentiment in our half of the city is no brighter.  Celtic’s best chance to win the league this season lies not in outpointing everyone else, or seeing their principle rivals lose 10 points, it is in the complete obliteration of Rangers, allowing us to take our chances with Motherwell, who can open up a six point gap between second and third against Celtic on Sunday.

Whatever the following weeks bring for Rangers, if Celtic winning the league is a consequence, we cannot allow the title to disguise the abject failure to be competitive so far this season.

One of the billionaires connected to ‘our’ club could find his way to, provide in excess of £10mill to bank-roll the ROI management team ?

That just invites the question, “how far down the pecking order are Celtic FC with these, Irish ghuys ?”

you’ve kind of tucked yourself up there – spending 10m on rafael was one of the worst bit of transfer business that celtic have ever done. spending 10m means nothing, spending well is what matters.

    btw bq wasnt chairman then.

The much maligned Brian quinn soon put a stop to any jiggery pockery

He was hard but bloody long sighted

We owe him a debt of graditude

would that be the same BQ who sanctioned £10mill of Celtic fans money for Rafeal ?

Your responses to those asking who you would rather see in place of Neil Lennon as the Celtic manager rings a wee bit hollow when in the past you have asked the very same question of those who would wish to see the board replaced en masse.

    Of course agree 100%.

Sadly spending next to nothing gets you the same as spending 10m on donkeys a league lost but hey ho lawell get’s the prospects as he plays championship manager and the balance sheet gets the number 7 jersey.

Anyone else embarresed by the fact we no longer have a number 7 on the park?

Strachan was also manager: he did not get support from the fans (when he should have)

The manager is there to get the most out of the players. His players, his tactics, his results.

You cannot hide from the fact that Neil has a shocking record this season.

    ————————

Who is this “Strachan” you talk of? Gordon Strachan? Yes he did not get backing from the full support but then again when they are constantly drip fed “wily old Walter” and “prickly wee Strachan” from the old media- many unfortunately swallowed the LL agenda and let that cloud their judgement. For the record, even thought the football was far from sexy, Gordon got my 100% support- and he still does, he is a Celtic man and a Celtic legend.

No doubt the manager is there to get the best out the players, but when some players start to believe in their own publicity or listen to their agents or advisors too much then I suggest some have not giving the club 100%. It is Neil’s job to dig them out the team and take suitable sanction (which may/may not be the reason we are not seeing too much of KC.)

Finally, I am not hiding from the fact that CELTIC are having a shocking season. Neil is not blameless, far from it, he would admit that himself.

My apologies for not replying sooner.

I have no problems whatsoever with differing opinions, it should be fostered and encouraged.

If you feel that I have a propensity to gang up on other posters, then I will have to rethink my style of posting and its subsequent content, for that has never, ever been my intention.

In fact, I can think of numerous occasions when I’ve purposefully not posted purely because I have felt that a particular poster was getting a hard time and I haven’t wanted them to think that they were being vivtimised.

I’ve even played devil’s advocate on occasion to support posts that I don’t necessarily agree with.

At no time did I refer to Mickybhoy1888 as a hun.

He is not. He is, however, a prick.

Why am I not surprised that you have nightmares about who has the audacity to make posts that are not in kilter with the Celtic board wannabees that unfortunately inhabit cybertimdom

Fortunately I live in the real world of Celtic pubs supporters buses and pineapples where the nightmare is that 6 months from now the present manager is still in charge while that little scrote McCall lifts the league trophy and starts off his speech ”on the behalf of myself and coisty………

    That’s my effin nightmare

As i said it does the blog no favour that the same group of posters call everyone who is not following thier version of celtic dogma a hun.

Take one supporters bus and you will get a myriad of versions of the celtic truth.

You will also get the most outlandish rumours most complete tosh but sadly at the moment a lot of bull is circulating around paradise. I guess in part because the lines of communication seem to have broken down.
