Foregone conclusion territory

1955

I don’t know about you but practically every football thought I have at the moment is connected to where we go next. The small matter of winning the league title has slipped into ‘foregone conclusion’ territory, which is always dangerous.

The players will be no different from the rest of us, but they will have more on their minds. A change of manager is likely to mean a new system, and new squad requirements. They need to focus on making the best of the next five games. One thing that has been reassuring this week is Ronny Deila’s comments. His professional pride is clear; he’ll apply himself fully to the task in hand until the end of the season.

Eyes on the task of winning the league, as soon as possible.

No wonder Scott Brown is looking jaded for us if he’s moonlighting in goals for The Sheep on Fridays. Sack Aberdeen, I say.

Sad news about Prince but noticed during the coverage comments about his more eccentric side. Apparently he once told his entourage not to look at him then sacked one of those who did. Must have been like working for medusa.

  5. Cultsbhoy,

I agree 2% of turnover is beyond reason for a CEO. If it was a FTSE 100 as have seen this week like BP or AA the investors will try and block management renumeration. Even massaging them before the shareholder meetings does not work….trust me.

However I would not hesitate to pay CFC CEO £1m in Total Compensation if he delivered. Lawwell has failed big time. Every Celtic supporter in the land and beyond knows it. The sad thing is that one of the most influential Celtic supporters in the land is afraid to call out his sponsor.

This is where Paul67 moves from a Celtic supporter to a Lawwell puppet. Harsh but it is true. It is his blog ; however it is for Celtic supporters to air our views.

Where I grew up in Glasgow outskirts we were outnumbered 100:1 and we carried a tricolour to the games with grown men shouting abuse at us as 12 year olds. They regretted this in years to come.

That is why I take a tough line on Paul67 and his weak acceptance of Lawwell. He should decide if he is a Celtic fan or Lawwells puppet.

He has invested a huge amount in the club and has the possibility of helping to drive the necessary change. However he needs to take the tough decision and cut Lawwell loose. Lawwell is damaging Celtic…..even tho he is a clever guy and has Celtics best interests at heart.

Control freak beancounters like Lawwell are a recipe for disaster.

  6. Fair dues to the Saints Ultras, they are bouncing away there for the entire game, all sixty of them.

You’ve got to laugh at the Saint weans in that corner, in five years time they could celebrate a win by legally going to the pub!

  10. Aberdeen paying tribute to Ronny tonight by the sounds of things! Maybe we should field an ineligible player in all of the remaining games just for the fun of it.

“I can’t believe (sob) I’ll never hear (sniff) Prince sing (bubble) again” he replied. Immediately after the news the radio station played a Prince song for the fortieth time in 2 hours
