Although TV and commercial money will be diluted, it is a sideshow compared to the real cash cow remaining in Scottish football, the gate money at Celtic Park. The Gang of 10 refused to exclude this option from their proposed change in voting rights.
A 20% share of gate money doesn’t have sufficient support from SPL clubs, too many losers. A 30% gate share only has one loser, everyone else wins, including the club who took 87 fans to a league game at Celtic Park last season.
This is nothing to do with Sevco, who are unlikely to pull a financially viable plan together (although the SPL and SFA are still trying). You’re being asked to open your wallets and pay for the upkeep of 42 stadiums, squads, boards of directors and kit men.
This is not a viable plan. It’s time for Scottish football to admit defeat. Sport has been subverted for over a decade to the point there is nothing left. We can keep Hampden and the national team going, but there is no viable league structure. The sooner we accept this and move on the better.

But for me, this is far far worse than voting them back into the SPL. This is sly, underhand, bullying of the SFL clubs and chairmen. I will be utterly disgusted with anyone who goes along with it. I sincerely hope that it’s just Doncaster & Regan and that the SFL have made it public to show exactly how much revulsion there is among the fans to the whole idea.
The SFL need the support of ALL fans now. They have already spoken out against this and are being blackmailed into accepting it.

The STV “document” looks like a hastily put together PowerPoint presentation with no substance. Given the principles and money involved , if you were an SFL Chairman and you received that as an “informative” document then you would return it to sender as either a hoax or draft and ask for the real document.
It would beggar believe if this was a SFL document , if it is then the office bearers deserve to be downsized when the various bodies are merged.
There are enough SFL chairmen out there who will publish the real document.

We are the other half of the Old Firm. Our club is completely devoid of ideas, and as such we have no right to complain when others decide to fly a kite. And that I am afraid is what they are doing, aided this time by the BBC. Until Celtic PLC comes up with one original idea that is what we are up against. Scotland has the best per capita football support in Europe, so it has something going for it. Peter wanted a ten team SPL, well for the moment at least he has got one, only one problem, Celtic aren’t in it!

Despite some doubtful (hysterical?) comments from some I believe we should have more faith in supporters of other clubs. We haven’t held them in much regard in the past but in this instance, during this scandal, they have stepped up to the plate, often over-riding the initial intents of their club officials.
A much better response is for all supporters to engage in smothering this ‘idea’. For us to see hunnish conspiracy EVERYWHERE is to reduce our effectiveness when it is real rather than imagined.
As Celtic FC have kept in the background, though almost certainly influencing, so similarly the Celtic supporter organisations should be ready to assist, inform and support those SFL clubs & supporters now in fear of being shafted.
This tactic has worked a treat so far and will continue to do so because it is supporters who have control of this show.

I can get on board with a more democratic voting system, and I can go with the more even split of the tv money.
A 30% split of the gate is frankly ridiculous though. If those clubs are so short-sighted that they can’t see this is going to end them in the medium to long term then hell mend them.

For me(and it’s a personal view) I believe I supported Celtic even more than the Bhoys inside the ground because we “rhebels” won and changed Celtic for the better!

I couldn’t agree more… the pass is so perfectly weighted that Hooper has time to adjust his balance… the commentator pauses, we tense up in expectation… and Hooper delivers with aplomb. What a way to finish them off
PS – In any event the SPL SFA & SFL must be aware by now that Sevco is an asset strpping entity and giving them entry to ANY league program is a huge risk.
