Q. There will be 12 teams in the SPL next season. How many do you think stand to gain from the redistribution of income proposed by the Gang of 10?
A. 11.
Q. There will be 30 teams in the SFL next season. How many do you think stand to gain from the redistribution of income proposed by the Gang of 10?
A. 30.
Although TV and commercial money will be diluted, it is a sideshow compared to the real cash cow remaining in Scottish football, the gate money at Celtic Park. The Gang of 10 refused to exclude this option from their proposed change in voting rights.
A 20% share of gate money doesn’t have sufficient support from SPL clubs, too many losers. A 30% gate share only has one loser, everyone else wins, including the club who took 87 fans to a league game at Celtic Park last season.
This is nothing to do with Sevco, who are unlikely to pull a financially viable plan together (although the SPL and SFA are still trying). You’re being asked to open your wallets and pay for the upkeep of 42 stadiums, squads, boards of directors and kit men.
This is not a viable plan. It’s time for Scottish football to admit defeat. Sport has been subverted for over a decade to the point there is nothing left. We can keep Hampden and the national team going, but there is no viable league structure. The sooner we accept this and move on the better.

You appear to have the wrong end of a fairly large stick.
If I, in any way, offended you, then please accept my apologises. ’twas never the intention.
I did not infer true supporters to be only those who attend CP.
I do not have a gang.
Reference to the Gazebo is a long running feature similar to the ole Burns Howff..
I was merely supporting a very fine man who was under attack from a person who chooses not to support our club financially.
I hope that clears up the matter Henry.

Hey Slan_Abhaile:
never seen you posting so much, what’s happened? It’s like a weight has been lifted from your shoulders.
You’ve come a long way since the barren days of wanting the head of Neil Lennon on a plate.
Did you ever find out where Rebel Hill in your part of the world is? All the locals know it.

Today is my 46th birthday. Yesterday I had to leave work when my back went – colleagues had to drive me and my car home. This morning I have dragged myself back in for a busy day and am in some pain. I’ve had better birthdays.
Your post has cheered me up no end – thanks. I hope you are right.
Whither the cash strapped scrofulous New hillbillies the day?

In which I offer a few thoughts on the SFL plan to save Scottish football by putting “Rangers” into SFL1. It does not impress me…

I heard a snippet of it yesterday-it sounded like a mid-80s Queen out-take.
And everyone knows Queen stopped being great long before then!
Morning guys,
Intending visiting Hampden tomorrow – haven’t been before. Any friendly hostelries in the area? Half-friendly?
Thanks in advance.
Cathal.
For the old folk of CQN, I’d have a one hundred pound bet that Sean South had a wee dig at Paul67, under a wee pretentious moniker, on the last thread.
Sorry for going off topic but I’d be disappointed if Foster doesn’t sign as I think he has the potential to be a very good keeper. Anyone have any knowledge about Ciani?

I had the same problem last night in a post failing to be accepted even as a cut and paste re-post. I got the same “you’ve already posted this” message back.
Mind you, the post was a fairly boring one so maybe Paul has installed some quality control software on the site.
I’ll know that’s false if this post gets through

Ive placed the stick down the bottom of the garden Ec67, hopefully it will remain down there.

Ernie I have been thinking the same myself. The away end at Celtic park is mostly unused / undeused so we wouldn’t be giving too much away having seat warmers and letting the away team price them and keep the money. There would need to be agreement on costs of repairs for damage but could live with it.
If the SPL push through sharing Celtic season ticket money we should get serious about leaving. As this may take time the bored could make our position clear and structure the season ticket prices to maximise our share. They could televise all away games Live at Celtic park and sell season tickets for the games with a complimentary season ticket to all home games for 50 quid.
Celtic Football Club has done nothing wrong. We won the league back , have built a young exciting team and the future is green and white and hun free. Have a great weekend all , take it easy.

Paul67 has kindly taken the time to explain that it somehow got caught in a spam filter, and sent one of them through.
Not sure if the spam aspect is because the post was my usual pash,or because so many posts are critical of Ernie….

I see you ridicule the sleight-of -hand counter measures proposed to avoid the Great Home Gate Attendance Money Swindle. You even draw comparisons with EBTs.
Obviously other clubs can make a bid, with some legal underpinning, for some share of profits generated by a match in which two sides participate. However, most Celtic fans sign up via, Season Ticket, to see Celtic regardless of who the opposition is. This year, for example, we have signed up (apart from some) for the mystery tour fixture against some mob called Club 12.
Surely there can be no retrospective grab for this money, which was paid for up front by Celtic fans who will claim that, if they had known others would profit, they would not have paid the money. Perhaps the monies of match day ticket buyers will be up for dispute but do you not think any competent lawyer would be able to ward off any threat to have the season book money of 2012/13 go anywhere but to Celtic?
I think we will have, at least, one year to counter these damaging measures.

Agreed. Rules like this can’t possibly be applied retrospectively.
Even if something like this is proposed there will be legal challenges to ensure Celtic are not disadvantaged as it would set a precedent across Europe. The likes of Wigan or Bolton with 18,000 fans per game will think, hang on, why can we not get some money from the 75,000 who go to support Man United.
Ultimately this may be something they trie, but I feel it is doomed to failure.

I am struggling to understand how the SFA can be party to this gerrymandering while they know that public corruption has been happening on their watch. I don’t doubt your info having been party to info you supplied during Dallasgate – (remember you still have my email if you wish to forward further info on PLEASE:-). But it is beyond me that an organisation like the SFA could be so corrupt that their priority is saving x-Rangers over the Associations duty to run and administer the game within the rules and regulations of both FIFA and UEFA.
Now. Attempting to gerrymander a form of x-Rangers back into the game spouting diatribe about the good of the game can be viewed by the warped minded (MSM & LL) as reasonable and acceptable. But surely if the info you have becomes public knowledge which I doubt it will, then even the most warped, bias, bigoted, self serving individuals would finally see the wood in the trees.
