Gang of 10 plan creates 41 winners and only one loser

983

Q. There will be 12 teams in the SPL next season.  How many do you think stand to gain from the redistribution of income proposed by the Gang of 10?

A. 11.

Q. There will be 30 teams in the SFL next season.  How many do you think stand to gain from the redistribution of income proposed by the Gang of 10?

A. 30.

Although TV and commercial money will be diluted, it is a sideshow compared to the real cash cow remaining in Scottish football, the gate money at Celtic Park.  The Gang of 10 refused to exclude this option from their proposed change in voting rights.

A 20% share of gate money doesn’t have sufficient support from SPL clubs, too many losers.  A 30% gate share only has one loser, everyone else wins, including the club who took 87 fans to a league game at Celtic Park last season.

This is nothing to do with Sevco, who are unlikely to pull a financially viable plan together (although the SPL and SFA are still trying).  You’re being asked to open your wallets and pay for the upkeep of 42 stadiums, squads, boards of directors and kit men.

This is not a viable plan.  It’s time for Scottish football to admit defeat.  Sport has been subverted for over a decade to the point there is nothing left.  We can keep Hampden and the national team going, but there is no viable league structure.  The sooner we accept this and move on the better.

I had some discourse with deliasmith some days ago

Said poster deliberately misrepresented my response ….it seems just how he/ she chooses to reply

He/ she continues to fail to produce any evidence to support his/ her position ….other than the “because it is “response that one got as a kid

He/ she will back tomorrow promulgating the same nonsense with no attempt at justification and constant whining about others being less than gracious in their response

  2. @JohnboyMaclean: James RFFF-badge-wearer Ballantine, head honcho of Airdrie and SFL, drew up plan that denies Airdrie promotion to Division 1 @SFLcorrupt

  3. Any Celtic fan who thinks we should give 30% of our season ticket income away is either insane or is not a true Celtic fan.

A totally stupid proposal which cannot be argued for.

Do we then charge clubs more that come to Celtic Park as we have higher rates and policing costs?

It’s just plain stupid, and I’d hazard illegal.

Just for your information, what Awe_Naw said in that post could be read as nasty. To my mind they are some of the most despicable and threatening of words ever used on here; but in case you don’t remember, or you were unaware, it was not Awe_Naw who suggested that “you stick knitting needles in your eyes” that piece of nastiness was originally penned by GCT. The very same person who played the victim card and you fell for it.

Awe_Naw was doing no more than throwing the nastiness back at him. And please don’t forget all the nastiness that was penned under his (GCT’s) different monikers. Believe me I still have most of it.

Awe_Naw was doing no more than taking the pee, the nastiness was GCT’s but as always he plays on the sentiments of posters and plays the ubiquitous victim card. He then in tantrum throws out all sorts of allegations and flounces off. How many times has he done that now?

I STILL HAVE the ‘sticking needles in your eyes’ post somewhere. I’ll try and find it.

    Ask Paul67 about those words.

  7. Where do you think the club Green is trying to form should start?

    Non-league – I’d like to see a local derby with St Anthony’s.

    This is a serious answer.

What I think would be best is a new club in Govan, Govan Town FC, playing in all red, for the proud socialist tradition of that district. I’d have a sheep’s heid for a badge and a completely fresh start, personified by an Irish manager and a green away strip.

My family has been in Govan since the first McAulays came over from Cavan some time before the 1851 Census, Probably because of the famine, you know. I like Govan.

The first year of my married life I lived in Clynder Street, literally in the shadow of Ibrox Park. Many is the bucket of water I have sluiced down my close after a Rangers home game, and many are the thanks I have given that in those days they were lucky to get 10,000 for a home game.

As for the rest: if you don’t like my tone – well I don’t like incoherent half-threats from low-life wannabe thugs, or ad hominem responses to fair points. But I can suck it up, so should you.

You’re as entitled as the next man to post, lurk, or otherwise. But don’t make a soap opera out of it. If a post or poster offends you, then ignore it, respond to it, or report it.

We all know you’re not huns. You know you’re not huns. Some guy on a website suggests you’re huns? Doesn’t make it true, doesn’t require you to defend yourself to him, and nobody else on the site gives a fk. Let it go.

FELLOW TIMS – if we spend our time arguing with each other over fk all, we might miss the hilarity that is about to explode at Hunville.

There will be no SPL2 incorporating GreenHuns. There will be no huns team playing professional football in Scotland in 2012/2013. Kirk Broadfoot will conclude his football career without ever having recognisably played football.

Very grateful to Bazza for this. “No true Scotsman” is a recognised philosophical fallacy and it’s heartwarming to see it being used so appropriately.

I hope you’ll all follow the link, but if you’re too busy here’s the nub:

“This fallacy is a form of circular argument, with an existing belief being assumed to be true in order to dismiss any apparent counter-examples to it. The existing belief thus becomes unfalsifiable.”

The second art of Bazza’s post is less elegant – evidently it CAN be argued for. What Bazza should have said is “… cannot be argued for successfully, in my opinion.”

  20. Just having a last quick look before turning in and found this, which must have been posted while I was slowly typing some response or other:

    Gordyboy:

and your arguement that we pay to watch a game is factually correct, but nonsense all the same

This makes me genuinely very proud.

Until today it has been generally assumed that “factually correct” and “nonsense” were two categories entirely separate and distinct, like positive integers and negative integers. But it seems that I have stumbled across a proposition that can be placed in both categories, a groundbreaking achievement for which I am surely destined to be imortalised. Very proud … really humble but quietly proud.

I suppose you will have read Awe Naw`s response at 14.16.Quite the most vicious thing I have ever read on C.Q.N.

The use of “bad language ” on C.Q.N.is usually forbidden for the very good reason that ” children read this site”

What was said to you was worse than the worst of bad language, imho, not to mention earlier references to “SCOTTISH SCUM.”

    1. Thanks for your comments. I simply could not believe the level of vitriol being thrown at you and had to speak out. I did indeed see Awe_Naw’s follow-up comment. It was very kind of him to actually prove my point so quickly and so typically. Take care mate and again, thanks for your support.

He had the perfect opportunity to put you right as to who actually owns the copyright on the words… sticking knitting needles in your eyes but it was rather remiss of him not to inform you that it was he who first suggested that particular endearment to Awe_Naw some three years ago.

No he allowed you and the blog to believe that Awe_Naw was the blog bully. What does that say about the man.

Did I not read him telling you that he had only ever been to Sydney twice and both times on business? Am I correct that he wrote you those words just recently? I’m curious… Did he expand further on that statement?

  22. This place is the richer when we all agree on something, is comfortably well off when there’s decent debate and then has holes in its pockets when some people are happy to pick holes in arguments rather than debate.

We’re doing well as a club, we’re the champions, and we have a champions league qualifier or two and more to look forward to and a bright new season. Our rivals? Not so much. These are good times and many more pathetic fag-packet drafts of garbage won’t change things because they are not sustainable for 24 hours let alone years. Honestly, what we’ve seen today is a kite-flying exercise to see the level of acceptance for fans. A clue to the writers – don’t waste your time on foolish hypotheses, the football fan of today is sharper than you think and understands the business. No longer can a board, or an SPL chair or an SFA chief exec treat us like mushrooms with bullsh*t and in the dark.More a fun-guy.

Things were going real well today then we read the media storm that was whatever it was, Im not sure what was cast in stone if anything after all that hulla baloo but at the end of the day Celtic are Champions and are facing CL qualifiers, we should be able to afford time without thinking back to former rivals. Granted the lastest thing may have something in it but folk were getting upset, the carcass of what was once rangers is long dead, that is history, Celtic continue.

A new entity carrying the smell of that carcass is continuing and the type of folk in the sfa/spl/sfl etc who followed the old rfc are desperately clinging onto whatever they can in a public embarrasing show. Its hilarious yet amazing how public an og PR knowledgable folk are, I put it down to sheer brass necks. Whatever happens that ex club and the remnants that try and start up again will be tarnished more than the tainted club they originated from, and thats hard to manage.

Worst thing that can happen is the muck start in Division 1, that kills the SFL, the muck will be to blame for killing all they teams, the muck after refereeing favours all season get out division 1 and return to our league.
