Getting buy-in from senior players

1079

Delighted to see Brendan Rodgers is down to business at Lennoxtown, three weeks before the players return for preseason training. It’s interesting that he arranged an early opportunity to meet Scott Brown over a meal, and that this was made public.

Getting buy-in from senior players was one aspect of the job Ronny Deila allegedly didn’t achieve. The rights and wrongs of this can wait for Ronny’s autobiography, although you may wish to express an outsider’s opinion. All that matters to Brendan is that no one is able to speculate about the same issue on his watch.

There’s not much a manager can do three weeks before training starts than eat dinner with the captain, scout players and watch videos. I expect Brendan to have seen every minute of every Celtic game last season by the time players get back; there is lots to learn. In particular, what went wrong at the back to a team which broke defensive records in each of the previous two campaigns. You may wish to express an outsider’s opinion.

Those in the know warned us that blue collar crime is particularly difficult to prosecute, and so it’s transpired. Only Craig Whyte now faces trial in the Rangers fraud case, which saw remaining charges against Duff and Phelps’ administrators David Whitehouse and Paul Clark dropped at the High Court in Glasgow this morning. It’s far from a satisfactory outcome.

Good to hear the losing Scottish Cup final manager, who was left with some bears in Japanese forest for seven days by his parents, has been found safe and well, even if he has nothing to say for himself.

    Hi All,

Jobs makes a good point. Blue it should be..

Strangely enough I enjoyed it, don’t often like Scotland getting handed a Footballing lesson but when it comes to some brilliant play with loads of Gallic panache I can appreciate it.

Going to have a punt on France…

  5. A wee additional plug for blue. I often wear a blue shirt to work, or a blue the. Think nothing of it. But would NEVER happen the other way. On Friday I noticed a post from Eurochamps 67 to the effect that when he wears a blue, red, brown tie it pretty much goes unnoticed. But year something green and everyone comments! That resonated with me. About 40 weeks of the year Friday = sped tie day just to remind folk that the weekend games are upon us. But I do it just to easily wind the other side up. Fish in a barrel axe all that.

I have many blue garments. Dmdpmt work the other way.

So, be clever, keep the 12 blue!

  6. Ok, here are the various spelling mistakes!

One thing I tend not to do is apologise for the atrocious grammar and spelling mistakes…

Not a problem wearing the colour blue but Res12 was Celtic shareholders raising an issue about cheats, anything to do with Celtic should be green, anybody thinks others will take notice are aff their heids, they don’t care

    “SMASH FASCISM

    SMASH LOYALISM

I was suitably impressed until I was reliably informed that the guy was a total nutter who knew nothing about Football and was as likely to walk down the street the following week in a Hun shirt.

    Still a nice shirt though.

Great Article James Forrest, Seven weeks indeed. I said to my pal the night they bet us that this would happen and I was right, I gave our board the benefit of the doubt and they pulled Brendan out the hat. Even if they had won the final its still a poor trade off. If we beat them and Ronnie won the double he would still be there, I could be wrong but i don’t think so. ;)

  12. Final thought. Keeping it blue remover any possible distractions from the main message. Resolution 12 isnt a Celtic Rangers*. thing. Resolution 12 is alt about governance Joe the SFA . Blue keeps up focussed com avoids distractions.

(Slightly) seriously though this is ‘an ecumenical matter’ and it’s already far too easy to label it disgruntled Celtic fans obsessing.

  17. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

I was in the town about one o’clock today when I could hear the tufty club coming down West George Street in one of their usual displays of tolerance and loving everyone.

A few hours later I saw a badly sunburnt sev wearing the 2014/15 sev top. On the back of it was printed vote naw. He looked a classy guy.

In a way I’m glad Brendan is keeping quiet and not makinf statements to the media. I like the way he seems to be going sbout things in a quiet way.

I also spotted a sticker on a traffic light pole at the junction of Gordon Street and Hope Street.

It said Ayrshire bhoys then underneath was the Celtic crest with a fist smashing a swastika.

Hail Hail to our Ayrshire tims. Was it Bobby Murdoch or Tallybhoy who it on the traffic light, we deserve to know. Lol

  18. Great day today. Well, took me 3 hours to get to Troon from Stirling (accident then road works) but a fantastic day on the beach.

Spoke to a fellow Tim who runs a csc down that way. Numbers up and canny wait for the season to start. Dublin was spoke about as an event not a preseason friendly.

Burnt napper and knees and Mrs Gs ipod threw up some decent tunes for once on the way home.

Ya nutter. You should see the size of him now. Friggin enormous. He’s getting clipped this week, his first. I wish the fermer all the best. Lol. Hope you and the Bhoy are well. See you both next season. Sooo looking forward to it HH

  20. I’m happy to have the black text and blue numbers on a green T but as we are helping the four amigos I really don’t care. The blue is important I think to highlight the SFA’s corrupt nature.

You could also use the black text and blue numbers on a blue T for our zombie friends and that would look like RES TANCE, and as we all know restance is Danish for arrears
