Getting buy-in from senior players

1079

Delighted to see Brendan Rodgers is down to business at Lennoxtown, three weeks before the players return for preseason training. It’s interesting that he arranged an early opportunity to meet Scott Brown over a meal, and that this was made public.

Getting buy-in from senior players was one aspect of the job Ronny Deila allegedly didn’t achieve. The rights and wrongs of this can wait for Ronny’s autobiography, although you may wish to express an outsider’s opinion. All that matters to Brendan is that no one is able to speculate about the same issue on his watch.

There’s not much a manager can do three weeks before training starts than eat dinner with the captain, scout players and watch videos. I expect Brendan to have seen every minute of every Celtic game last season by the time players get back; there is lots to learn. In particular, what went wrong at the back to a team which broke defensive records in each of the previous two campaigns. You may wish to express an outsider’s opinion.

Those in the know warned us that blue collar crime is particularly difficult to prosecute, and so it’s transpired. Only Craig Whyte now faces trial in the Rangers fraud case, which saw remaining charges against Duff and Phelps’ administrators David Whitehouse and Paul Clark dropped at the High Court in Glasgow this morning. It’s far from a satisfactory outcome.

Good to hear the losing Scottish Cup final manager, who was left with some bears in Japanese forest for seven days by his parents, has been found safe and well, even if he has nothing to say for himself.

I have to take issue with your opinion about this, bud.

There must NEVER be a place available for me at ANY Celtic game, not in Autumn anyway.

Apart from that, you are correct. And as far as I know, the club have no plans to sell 100% of seats as STs.

Not sure that they ever did, even with the ones that weren’t valid against deid teams.

  2. Celtic strips are green and white. Should we need a second strip or a third strip it should we white and green. Or white. Or green.

Pink is not a Celtic colour. Pink scarves are therefore not Celtic scarves and should be banned under the Trades Description Act. They are an abomination.

‘Back now in the top tier, their enemies call them Sevco and refer to their supporters as Sevconians, which the Urban Dictionary tells me refers to people “usually bald and toothless” and “consumed with bigotry and lies” who insist they are really Rangers’.

    “usually bald and toothless” ?

    Mate.

You`re too smart to imagine that the whole issue is black and white.

Let`s all accept the tragedy of these events .

Can we move on together in harmony , accept the past without forgetting it , and determine a better future for all.

    For all.

Why is Andre Wisdom worth 3 million?

He’s perennially on loan and unwanted by Liverpool. He didn’t shine while at Norwich and they clearly don’t want him either.

We should be asking for a loan deal with an option to buy him for that kind of price.

Ruth Dudley Edwards might be described as a West Brit. She was born in Dublin and describes herself as English-Irish. I’ve heard her describe herself as a Revisionist Historian. Her views are what comes first, never balance. She is a ‘nippy sweetie’ and that’s enough about her on this Bank Holiday Monday.

  21. Great to see the queues for seasons on Celtic’s Twitter feed.

I guess the argument of speculating to accumulate has been somewhat validated?

Well looks like big Peter has pulled off the big deal again by getting Brendan Rodgers as the new Celtic manager as it appears that we could be on for a record number of season tickets being sold. There is a huge weight of expectation on our young managers shoulders and the Celtic support are playing there part the team could well be playing to full houses at Parkhead next season. We need to go to the next step by bringing in at least 3 players and not young hopefuls but established professionals.H.H.

It enhanced the ####### weirdo status earned by my love of cricket and Blue Note LPs .Boy named Sue stuff and an early lesson re the difficulties caused by being true to yourself .. I escaped to Uni in 68 and found that there were lots of people who loved PG Wodehouse and cricket but in a world full of Pink Floyd fans having lots of jazz LPs was still far from being cool ,man .
