Going one better next season

943

We had a special night at the Celtic Supporters’ Association’s 67th Annual Rally last night.  It was great to see our two treble winning captains: Tom Boyd giving praise to the giant of the European game, Billy McNeill.

I had a chat with Scott Brown, who received his Association Player of the Year award.  A day before he collects his fourth consecutive league championship trophy you’d think he would afford a moment of satisfaction, but he’s not happy this isn’t a treble winning season.  The events at Hampden last month have left an open wound.  All he could talk about was going one better next season.

Before you leave for the game tomorrow remember to bring along some change to buy a Ronny Roar badge to raise funds for the work of your Foundation.  See you there.

The Huns beat a traditional shitbage Hibs side and the usual suspects pop up on here to blame Celtic.

Yet nobody can actaually do anything but greet.

I have never read any constructive, informative post explaining exactly what, how and why specific actions taken by Celtic would have resulted in the utter extinction of the Huns.

Do tell, with your obvious technical expertise exactly how Celtic Plc could have intervened in the business of HMRC, the financial markets, and the like to legally euthanise the Hun entity in all its incarnations.

Such detail will be worth billions on the open market for any company looking to eliminate rivals so make sure you copyright your genius before enlightening us all….

Meanwhile, back in f’ckn reality – c’mon Skippy, pump that Zombie trash.

So do you believe all Celtic had to do was “insist” and Rangers would have been thrown out of football altogether?

It’s really that simple is it?

  5. Captain Beefheart on

Calm down everybody. I think that one of my posts also disappeared. Nothing sinister.

  6. Tom McLaughlin,

well as celtic made no effort we shall never know, celtic seem to accept cheating its in our nature shall we say.

Looks like we will be depending on Motherwell”

Now you really are barrel scraping.

“Hey, I didn’t say I had any confidence in my dependance. Rangers have the best squad in the Championship. They stole players from Hearts (Black, Wallace, Templeton), Kilmarnock (Bell, Boyd & Shiels), United (Daly), Motherwell (Law) and QOTS (Clark). All players who were wanted by the clubs who lost them. All players paid with inflated wages at a time when they were struggling to pay their way and got themselves into debt with loan sharks like Ashley. In short, repeating the same pattern of financial management that led their previous clumpany to liquidation.

Only the incompetence of McCoist & Durrant made this the close shave it has become. I have them as 1/3 favourites to beat Well over 2 legs. Well have a chance, but it is a slim one.

On the pro side, they are used to playing a higher standard of football game, they have experienced pros in Lasley, McManus, Pearson, Sutton and McDonald, they have promising youngsters in Erwin, Law and Thomas.

On the con side, they are Motherwell and a fairly crap Motherwell at that, used to losing.

Celtic could do nothing re HMRC etc, but the could have done something re licencing matters, it took a few shareholders to get Res 12 on te table.

Serious amounts of money has been stolen from the club, the referees are helping with this as well, yet total silence from the club on this.

They should have been exposing them at every opportunity, and feck the consequences, tell the truth, and they can’t hurt us, they can only hurt themselfs.

Celtic should have insisted that, the huns be removed from the game of football

    =========================================

‘insisting’ as far as I know, isn’t a legally executable procedure.

Ever given any thought that Celtic knew how this would play out all along, knowing full well the history of masonic cabals and the Huns’ Scottish establishment links, and decided the primary course of action was to take care of our own business first and foremost and put ourselves far enough ahead of them so that they will have to rely on financial miracles to mount any sort of challenge when an inevitable incarnation returned to the top flight?

Because they ARE inevitable. Because this is Scotland and there are enough mindless Huns within its borders to make and sporting entity as a figurehead for them a viable business prospect.

Celtic were always going to have to combat a future Morlock Movement regardless of apocalyptic actions by HMRC or anyone else. Phoenixes might rise from ashes, but Plagues propagate from pestilence – and the reek of them was never going away completely.

Despite the romantic notions of many a Tim, we were not going to be alone for long. Realism is frustrating but blaming Celtic for Hun ills is pointless, misguided and a waste of energy.

We did what we could to separate ourselves from them – rebuilding on the playing and managerial side, making sure we have the reserves of cash and ability to put ourselves at arm’s reach when they lumber into view.

Maybe that will be in a few months, maybe another year; either way I’ll laugh at their attempts to compete with us. They’ll be lucky not to bust themselves trying and the odds are they will.

Meantime we have Champions League to to full our ambitions while they aim to grab a futile loose hold of our coat-tails; exactly where they should be and exactly where I hoped they’d be; barely worth a glance back and down. Noisy little rat-bastard deluded nonentities.

They’ll provide more amusement than irritation and I look forward to seeing Celtic putting them in their place when they attempt to match us on the park.

Jock Stein told you – beat them by playing football, score more goals than them.

Let them screw up their own backyard, let us focus on our own higher ambition.

  12. Aye…bring-on all the cheating-mibbery-rioting-etc…..

    oh, and all the civil-unrest if…..we overcome…:)

If Celtic has the means of having the fans vote on staying in the SPL or leaving the league (with no other league to play in), what do you think the fans would vote for?

  14. TET –

Fair enough re the licensing issue. But Celtic couldn’t and can’t take the SFA To task on refereeing. It’s an objective thing and without hard evidence, you can’t prove anything.

Celtic directors may believe that the referees are biased against us, but they can’t go anywhere with it.

Some judge has already ruled that paying players with money you don’t have or declare has no bearing on sporting advantage, the SFA, UEFA and FIFA don’t appear to care that a club can liquidate, start again and take the dead clubs history. So can’t really see what Celtic could’ve done apart from vote that Sevco couldn’t start in the bottom tear??

Not one club has complained about the use of EBTs or the CL income. Why?

The Celtic board’s biggest opperchancity came when…they were summoned to a gov-summit for the ‘shame-game’…were Celtic should have refused to attend the govt-summit on the basis of having 3 players sent off….and, instead should have called their own press-conference of….the national-media…NOT the local-media to, tell the world ‘exactly’ what type of country Scotland really is…imho.

Instead…the Celtic board…went to the G-S like meek little lambs marching in step to slaughter…..and, sent out the message to the orc-establishment that….if the O-E snap their fingers….the meek-kow-towing-Celtic-board…will come running.
